Although it is strange for them to just sit and watch the death star to destroy a planet and they do nothing to help. Sci fi can have emotion-based human stories in it too, if thats what floats your boat.

(e.g. using robots and aliens to explore aspects of humanity, or putting humans in exaggerated situations).

Fantasy is limited - it's regular stories with pretty backgrounds.

"the greater reality" is tangible science. The mystery is in the sheer complexity (e.g. the trillions of connections in the brain)

Whereas sci-fi is merely a limited version of fantasy. Anything not reality is fantasy, you do know that, right? Star Trek in particular is very cold, which is why it does not resonate so deeply with most of humanity. Fantasy on the other hand does. That's all that matters, which one helps/examines the human condition more.

And sci-fi's censorship of these elements is worrisome.
