  • BEST THING IVE SEEN ALL YEAR

  • "basic early design, capable of sub light travel only"

    one second later.

"they are accelerating to warp 5"

  • if anything, I'd just ask, Kiop, if it's not real, then what does it really mean, if anything?

  • ...and we watch to see how the solve their problems. Often the problems they face and eventually solve are solved on the basic levels and not the fancy tech side though it usually helps. It allows us to see ways to solve issues we face today. Also by using plausible technology we see advancements. Do you like your Cell Phone? you can thank Star Trek for that. Fantasy is good too, as it can explore the same types of things, and help us see society differently.

  • Science fiction, is sometimes called Science Fantasy, because it deals with things beyond the scope of our understanding but it uses parts of our understanding so that the human interactions of the medium can be explored. It has been said that no fiction tells us about ourselves better than science fiction. It has also been said the Science Fiction is the mirror to humanity. This is because Science fiction takes the problems we face and sets them in a time or place where there is advanced tech..

  • both are wonderful

  • Luke Skywalkers lightsaber :P

  • Lol.

  • lol i wounder if gerge lucas or paramount have seen and counsidered this!? it's surpriseing how well they mesh together!

  • This was great, good editing job, great lines, i love it!

  • How can a vessel of basic early design capable of "sub light travel only" immediately accelerate to warp 5?

  • The episode about the Dyson sphere, I think it would be more suitable.

  • its the DEATH borg STAR Ship

  • Epic!

  • Uh...X-wings and Y-wings aren't limited to sub-light.

  • Do one were they watch Saceballs Please! thubs up if you want to see this!!!???!!!!

  • ... capable of sublight travel only. ... They're accelerating to warp 5!

  • Are they watching the film or the real action????

  • @masere I would say just like the tv series, they are observing on what they have found. They must have gotten a cloaking devise to watch them. Although it is strange for them to just sit and watch the death star to destroy a planet and they do nothing to help. So in my opinion, they found transmissions of a galaxy far far away, and they are watching and observing them. Awsome video oh!

  • LOL! Geek moment here...the assessment Data makes of X-wings being "sub-light" only is incorrect. X-wings and Y-wings have hyperdrives. :) End geek moment.

  • @martok2112 Yeah, I loved that up until that point. I'm not that into SW (well only when compared to the super hard core fans) but I caught that immediately.

What TNG episode(s?) is this from?

  • Lol, that was awesome

  • /describing greedo

    worf: another glob fly...

    riker: glof bly?

    data elaborates

  • GOOD EDITING!!

  • While this is going on, the Romulans are plotting with the Ferengi to take over the Federation and the Borg are slowly creeping toward Earth. And Q decided to finally take a shower.

  • troi needs giant cock

  • > Capable of sub-light travel only.

    > Accelerating to Warp 5 now.

    Wut?

  • Now have them watch spaceballs

  • I always thought the original bridge from the original Star Trek would be a great place to watch movies, but I guess that the panels behind the captain on the Enterprise D could be replaced with a microwave oven to make popcorn and a vending machine with chocolate bars and candy. Oh yeah, and also a soft drink dispenser.

  • Basic, early design, capable of sub-light travel only... they are now accelerating to Warp 5... Wait, what?

  • However, the Animated Star Wars is great.

  • @ColbyCornish , make them watch the clone wars cartoon.

  • The new generation is epic. ST is better than any given SW movie.

  • "He's afraid"

    "We all are, counselor."

  • awsome job. Now have them watch Empire strikes back!

  • very good.

  • Missing "Shut up, Wesley!" from Picard, every time Wesley speaks.

  • Comment removed

  • star wars was so incredibly gay. STAR TREK TNG FTW!

  • They get really immersed into the movie.

  • Inadequate, Jean-Luc?? Inadequate my ass!! I love Star Wars, but I love Star Trek a thousand times more, particularly Star Trek: The Next Generation! This was absolutely fantastic! Very well done, ColbyCornish!!

  • lmao something funny about The TNG crew watching and analyzing a Star Wars movie.

  • Interesting combination.. Well done

  • @ 2:02 Hmm, so much action on the view screen that nobody notices Wesley briefly turned into a woman.

  • .... capable of sub-light speeds only... accelerating to warp 5. ooops hehehe

  • "Use the force Luke."

"Intesnsified scans show thier scanners to be intact." Only data could think of that line

  • :D

  • Amazing you were able to fill the TNG scenes using only footage from season 2.

  • 1:27 thank you Worf, I hadn't noticed.

  • Since Star Treck is in the future, they would have the Star Wars movies on record.

  • @KingZolem that's how i spelled "trek" when i was 10 :)

  • @marsh84722 Thank you for making fun of the dyslexic.

  • Made My Day!!!

    THANK YOU!

  • X-wings could go faster than light until they took a torpedo in the engine

  • This actually quite awsomely made :P

  • Basic design capable of sub-light travel only

    WRONG!

X-wings definitely go into hyperspace multiple times in the series

  • @headbandit64 And then they acellerate to Warp 5...

  • Great editing!

  • well done

  • Nice vid by the way! :)

  • Wow, the crew is really taking it too seriously, must be hard-core Star Wars fans... geez lighten up guys, it's only a movie...

  • @ImaRocketDog1 Uh oh... Now you did it! You done goofed! You said the wrong thing! (Never tell a hard-core, delusional Star Wars fan, "It's only a movie!" Now you're going to have thousands of Star Wars fans seeking to back trace you so they can find you in real life and give you the scowling of your life! Consequences will never be the same!

  • @SuperAieee I AM a Star Wars fan... just trying to diffuse the tension...

  • Why is there a "IV" behind Star Wars?

  • @et11robot2 All the clips are from the first Starwars movie - come on man

  • @et11robot2 It was episode 4...

  • beautiiful. i love you.

  • worfs eyes look wonky during 1:45 lol

  • Worf: "I recommend we go to yellow alert."

    Picard: "Why?"

Worf: "Oh, I don't know, maybe BECAUSE THEY JUST BLEW UP A PLANET IN FRONT OF US!!!"

Me thinks they should be a little more freaked out...

  • Fucking hilarious!

  • love itt. Star wars FTW

  • the death star is like a hole in space?

  • @ShinobiGarth Wesley is just an idiot.

  • @theknightswhosayfrak lol have you seen the Family Guy episode with the TNG crew? "YOU'LL GET NOTHING AND LIKE IT!!!"

  • @ShinobiGarth Awwwwwwww yeah.

  • Picard saying that TNG was inadequate is just wrong. ST TNG is true Sci-Fi Star Wars is not!

  • @Trekfreek Fantasy always trumps Sci-Fi due to its wider, more holistic vision.

Sci-Fi is just a subset of Fantasy anyway.

  • @KiopGenJin I have not commented on this for months. What did you do, go through all the comments until you found mine?

  • @KiopGenJin - no; sci-fi is best.

  • @walter0bz sci-fi is boring. It deals with technology. Technology is nothing but the hammer in your hands. How is that "the best". It deals with secular humanism, completely ignoring the true nature of reality or more easily put, the Energetic or Divine nature of everything in existence. How is that "the best"?? (You are aware of the new science aren't you?) Fantasy on the other hand at least dares to explore things that are closer to this greater reality than limited sci-fi.

  • @KiopGenJin -

    sci-fi has greater depth.

Sci fi can have emotion-based human stories in it too, if thats what floats your boat.

(e.g. using robots and aliens to explore aspects of humanity, or putting humans in exaggerated situations).

Fantasy is limited - it's regular stories with pretty backgrounds.

"the greater reality" is tangible science. The mystery is in the sheer complexity (e.g. the trillions of connections in the brain)

  • @KiopGenJin The only way sci-fi could become a more holistic genre is if it embraced all the things that are embraced in fantasy. Fantasy is a mirror of reality.

Whereas sci-fi is merely a limited version of fantasy. Anything not reality is fantasy, you do know that, right? Star Trek in particular is very cold, which is why it does not resonate so deeply with most of humanity. Fantasy on the other hand does. That's all that matters, which one helps/examines the human condition more.

  • @KiopGenJin The human condition is not given a fair examination if one focuses on ideologies such as utopianism scientific materialism. That's as inhuman as it gets.

We're not a bunch of robots. We are spiritual beings. And that fact that sci-fi for the most part takes this cold approach of examining it's effects on human society is what leaves me uninterested, because society and reality itself is far more complex. And sci-fi's censorship of these elements is worrisome.

  • @KiopGenJin I can understand that you find it worrisome, for you seem to have a great deal of ideological investment in your religious, divine-nature-of-things stuff, but calling it censorship is a bit much.

It may be true that you have a conception of sci-fi that is aspiritual, but I can think of many examples off the top off my head of sci-fi which fully addresses the human condition.

  • @KiopGenJin Star Trek depicts a utopia, and it is simply that in this utopia, people apparently have no further need of spirituality or fantasies.

  • @KiopGenJin Strange, how most of the intelligent humans' spirits are based on exploration and discovery and learning and, and doing and going to and what no man has or rarely done before.

  • @SCIFIguy64 Yeah, exactly. Maybe for Kiop Star Trek is cold because it doesn't have enough of those magical elements he's used to (although they did have Q, but Q was understandable, which I sense is something Kiop dislikes: the phrase mystery-worshipper comes to mind), but Star Trek wasn't just about people using tech, as you said, it's about discovery, and new experiences, and bettering oneself.

...it's just not about in-your-head fantasy not real experiences (talking to you, KiopGenJin)

  • @KiopGenJin Speaking of ideology, you seem to have it backwards, which might why you're seemingly offended by shows like Star Trek. More accurately, you should've said: It deals with secular humanism, ignoring everything but the nature of reality.

Fantasy tends to incorporate conceptual elements like magic. But Sci-fi tends to be materialist, in the sense that it focuses on reality itself, and technology, and it's uses.

  • @KiopGenJin Fantasy, in fact, incorporates human fantasies like magic, over reality itself. Materialism is rather that which does not ignore reality, and tends to focus on nothing but reality. Nothing but the greater reality.

  • Even they watch comedies.

  • PICARD!

  • Not "cry", "decry":

    de·cry [dih-krahy] Show IPA

verb (used with object), -cried, -cry·ing.

    1.

to speak disparagingly of; denounce as faulty or worthless; express censure of: She decried the lack of support for the arts in this country.

    2.

to condemn or depreciate by proclamation, as foreign or obsolete coins.

  • I've never seen somebody change seats som many times in one movie

  • lol This is an awesome mashup.

  • What does he say at the end? "For a moment...I'd cry that." WUT? lol

  • Haha!

X-wings are capable of light-speed... Just don't turn off the inertial dampers or you'll come out of it a fine paste.

    (you read one x-wing book...)

  • @thejerrymobile Yeah but in the next sentence he says that they're accelerating to Warp five which is FTL. So it depends on which part of that you are taking to be true.

  • @Pottsylird Haha, I think we should probably just take this as what it is... XD

  • EPIC!

  • Psh, Data's information is bunk (1:55). Everybody knows that Xwings have hyperdrive...

  • @queequeger I was thinking the same thing!

  • fuck you greedo. you didnt shoot first.

  • WHEEEEAATOOON!!!

  • XD that was great!

  • Not a fan of either, but that was pure genius.

  • PROFESSOR X CAN WALK!!!

  • Smh, any true fan knows that an X-Wing IS capable of light speed travel

  • They woulda liked it better if they weren't watching the special edition..

  • i just got chuck tested

  • I literally just nerded all over the floor.

  • we were inadqute for the moment...until jj abrams...

  • I'm not that big a fan of Star Trek, but this just made my life 100% better.

  • mister data your wrong about the x wings they have lightspeed as well :-P

  • zZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz

  • 34 people liked the prequels

  • @niggly54 You can like both.

  • MOTHER OF GOD....

  • I think of the movie Fanboys when i see this and think that the fans of both would fight

  • If the X-Wing is capable of sub-light travel only, how were they accelerating to Warp 5?

  • @TrueGilby the force mother licker!!!!

  • Whomever made this cured my inability to hate.

  • lol when the death star blew up my printer fell off my table

  • SI-FICEPTION

  • Jace Hall

  • Two of the best sci fi series of all time, I prefer SW but both are awesome.

  • Saw it earlier

  • 1:50 -- So, Data says that the X-wing is capable of sub-light travel only... and then in the next scene says they're accelerating to warp 5. I'm a nerd...

  • What fun! You guys are great!

  • doctor who sucks to. all sy fy sucks

  • Great job, funny ending :D

  • Yo dawg I hear you like stars...

  • @Matt00851 DOCTOR WHO ALL THE WAY

  • Almost everything is inadequate next to Episode IV and V!

But I think "Star Trek" holds the crown!

Just imagine if there were only 2 great episodes/movies of "Star Trek" and every other episode were as bad as "Star Wars" I, II and III?

  • cute

  • Klasse!!

  • That was good!

  • This is a masterpiece.

  • It's adorable seeing them get all worked up and excited about a movie they're apparently supposed to hate. Can't we enjoy both?

  • @PrototypeClex I agree. Except, the creator of this video had to add the moment where Picard is sucking up to Q with the hopes of having him send them away from the Delta Quadrant.

It was good up until that point. Then it just became another nerdy "my show is better than your show" clip.

  • @PrototypeClex Amen.

  • Nice work

  • What should have been in this clip was Riker's comment about the Husnock ship - "It's carrying enough firepower to pulverize a planet" - more apt for the Death Star than "a hole in space"!!

  • @masere Well depending on your definition of "Pulverize" Even a Star Destroyer would qualify since it has the ability to make what happened to Delta Rana IV, or Reach for that matter, look like a church picnic.

  • @2:41 "You wanted to show us that we were inadequate? For the moment, I KRAUT that."

Seriously. What does he actually say? I've played it 20 times over and can't figure it out!

  • @raynestarrw "For the moment, I grant that."

  • @TheAbsurdHero

Thanks so much! That was bothering me something fierce.

  • @raynestarrw Sure thing! I can't stand when I can't quite make out the exact words in dialogue, lyrics, etc. either.

  • Inadequate, DID YOU SEE EPISODE'S 1,2, AND 3,. WHAT A CHEAP SHOT. DICK.

  • @ozzy5254 Did you see Voyager, Enterprise and Nemesis?
