  • "Surley you wouldn't go adventuring without your clothes"

That's the best KIND of adventure!!!

  • I love the music in the ultima series... /sigh memories.. i loved Ultima online so much...

  • BETRAYAL!

  • What? I have a Baldur's Gate soundtrack and the music at 04:30's in it. Must be a blunder on the compiler's part.

  • @Chebmeh Dude, the song you are hearing at 4:30 is called "Stones." It never appeared in "Baldur's Gate." It was written by two friends of this game's creator in the mid-1980s specifically for this series of games. It is one of Ultima's most memorable music pieces in its history. I would encourage you to search for many different renditions created by fans on YouTube. Simply search for "Stones" and "Ultima." It is a moving piece indeed.

  • @MageSutek I know about that now, I just think there was a bit of a mistake by the guy who compiled the music folder I had.

  • though buggy, this game is AMAZING!!!! completed it many of times.

  • I remember my dad playing this game lol. My mom and i watched him throughout that first bit, and he killed the dog outside, starting a huge argument about animal abuse? Love my old family <3

  • i used to make bread stairs in this game with the bread maker!

  • I can't forget my obsession with this game even 10 years after I finished it. For a period it was the first thing I was thinking when I was waking up.

  • L0L THERE IS A EGYPTIAN BOOK TELLING YOU HOW TO READ BOOKS.. THATS SO AWESOME!

  • Follow my toturial to Download ultima ix on my channel!

  • I know ho to download this and get it to work!! :D

  • does anyone know how to install this on windows 7 Home SP1?

  • @IronMaiden6226 The trick with installing this (as with many titles that use the setup32.exe) is to go to your task manager and kill the rundll32.exe first. That's it. Runs fine.

I kind of finished this game back in the day. Circumvented the last dungeon by building a ladder out of staves, swords and shields with the ridiculous game physics to get me over the wall and directly into the final room instead of going the long, underground way.

  • @fisherkeltath thanks man. i'll try that now.

  • @fisherkeltath just tried it. unfortunately, i couldnt find rundll32.exe at all. i looked in task manager under applications and processes, but no avail.

  • @IronMaiden6226 Hm, I'm sorry to hear that; must be something else in your case then. Usually it does the trick with games from that era when the setup32.exe process runs but doesn't do anything.

  • @IronMaiden6226 All I did was simply install it... ran the autorun and installed the game... didn't have to set compatibility, nothing. Which is amazing because I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with a dual core CPU and modern graphics card etc.

  • @sirlag01 Same here. I did install a fan patch, vresion 1.19 i think but other than that I did nothing fancy and it runs fine on my system as well as on my XP machine.

  • @storrs19 Yeah, I also installed the extra patch. But of course that's after the game is already properly installed with no install issues.

  • I love this game but I have never gotten it to run on xp,

vista or windows 7 So I may never get to play it again

  • @BrainCreep spoilers?

  • @marquis0r ah come on! this game is ancient and buggy as hell. pluss the video in the sidebar is the whole ending. I wasn't trying to spoil it.

  • Regardless what anyone say about this game, it had lots of potential. It just feels you're playing some "skinny to the bones" version of the thing. Especially when you think about the world size and how linear/tiny the plot is, and little option for customisation...

Awesome graphics for the time, but because it was so limited, no gender, no party and what I said above it never got more than a 6/10 from me as a review.

On a side, The avatar got a nice home. =)

  • For 1999 standards the graphics are amazing

  • @OneNotOnly Look in google for Exult

  • Pity, I really would like to see Ultima with the graphics of WoW.

  • screw the bow arn't I in the modern earth wheres my gun? Lol J/k

  • Considering time is of no consiquence in ltima that also had spacehips and cyborgs I'd go with a Plasma Blaster myself...lol

but in both cases they' be useless without replacement cartriges that simply does not exist in Britania (soon as your out, your out)

  • Wow I think I still have this game somewhere, it came with tarot cards, art books, a pendant and cloth map.

    Never finished it tho.

  • @OneNotOnly just check the radiobuttons or checkmarks in the dosbox config. Nevertheless I recommend the decent frontend DBGL which you can get here: google dbgl, I'm lucky ;)

  • @marquis0r plain dosbox has no checkboxes, it's console stuff with options hehe. DBGL is a frontend! (GUI) just google DBGL, lucky and you're there. The frontend allows you to set most important stuff such as EMS use for your U7 enjoyment. Link sent.

  • @OneNotOnly well, there's Ultima Online. In style of Ultima 8 - Pagan. With more improvements. But you're right Ultima X planned but never worked on. Pity.

  • Play this and play it now.

I loved this game because it made the action in the series more desireable. It has the key ingredients of the series and the spell binding isn't that hard. Shame, I'm using the same PC I had when this came out. Me and rusty old Geforce 6300. And yea, it's over clocked.

PS - Find the lever by the tree in the yard to reveal warps to later points of the game. You have to jump over the perimeter fence to get to the pods though but it's easy. Save first.

  • @TiMMYSQUibbLES Yes but it vanished all the series... you should been in Britannia when this game starts... not in your house in earth. Pagan ends with Britannia in caos.

  • @chanchi789 This is true but most of the series starts you at home so you can take the gypsy questionnaire before passing through the moon gate. I like Pagan alot and its a shame they scrapped Ultima 10. The beta footage looked good and the reviews were good. /watch?v=W537UU_Xj24

  • @TiMMYSQUibbLES

how fucking poor are you? you can buy an used pc for $50 that is much better than that. for $600 you can get a pc that plays all modern games.

  • Wow, this brings back some memories. My PC was unbearably slow trying to run this game, to the point of frustration, back in '99. It still looks great today. I really want to give it another try, but I had some compatibility problems trying to play it on Vista :(

Time to put some more effort into getting it running.

  • Awesome dude but make sure to get the patch! its buggy without it ;D and by the way great vid you ressurected old times!! im subbing :D

  • One of the best games. :)

  • Very nice video! I must check out this game sometime! I like how in Ultima you always start in the present time and then travel to the fantasy realm.

  • 1:57 looks as if you take a piss!
