  • my friend u know who u are u are my best friend this song is a big reason why xoxoxo amanda

  • so sweet...

  • Great song, so many memories of a time that has long gone, but still brings joy and also tears to my heart. Thanks for sharing, only one little mistake in the lyrics. It says in the last verse "In the end it all comes out I'm sure"....... However the word "unsure" you wrote down also fits wonderful to the song ofcourse.

  • Far out! can I get a dobro up in here Duane? For your old buddy Eric who was a pal with a guy named George who was done married to some chick named LAYLA and they made that there song which was cool. And they played dominoes for fun.

  • @moonpie072954 Check out his duo with Duane Mean Old World. Wonderful Dobro

  • Far out! can I get a dobro up in here Duane?

  • Far out!

  • 2!!! Thanks.

  • Questa è una cover di una canzone del gruppo Cowboys.

  • Nadie sabe ni entenderá mas que yo lo que significa esta canción para mi, mi Joe, mi esposo, mi blues. 33 años que me acompaña. Soy tu gitana.

  • such an awsome song im a gypsy and love this song and steve lucas played this song so well on my mums bday

  • @amandajanelittles what do u mean ur a gypsy

  • I have never commented on a video in my life. You have taken an incredible song and paired it with the most simple images and prduced something that is so much more it's individual parts could ever convey. I am impressed.

  • great song,, by eric,,, ever,,,,,,,,

  • those were our college days favorites

  • Oops!

Scott Boyer of Cowboy wrote this song.

    My apologies.

  • Duane Allman may have written this but Clapton and Elliman really put the polish to it.

    Fine Job all around.

Thank You for posting it Graffinsfan. It is a vastly overlooked prize.

  • @StuartStreet WHOA WAIT do u actually know that duane wrote this?

  • @andyourbirdcansing64 461 Ocean Bl'vd credits: 1. Motherless Children (Traditional) - 4:53 2. Give Me Strength (Clapton) - 2:54 3. Willie and the Hand Jive (Otis) - 3:31 4. • @andyourbirdcansing64 Hey man, I love your name! Just wanted to point out that Scott Boyer and Tommy Talton from the band "Cowboy" wrote this song. Duane did play slide on the original version tho :)

  • Just wow!

    xo

  • In 1982, with this song I fell in love for a foolish who left me like a fool! Apart this, it's one of my favourites. Fans of "461 Ocean boulevard", (preferencely women), write me!

  • love this

  • classic eric slowhand clapton... my college buddies used to play this song during our jamming sessions after school...great times from 30 years ago...free pot smoking days...no worries of what the future brings...oh my how time flies...now i am a guy on mid-life-crisis...no regrets we had our times guys...keep on rockin...

  • Thank you for sending me this Scott, yes of course I will be with you, always, I love you too. What a beautiful way to say it.

  • Two years is a long time for no post on this Clapton and friends classic. One friend on this one you boys and girls surfing out there that the female vocalis is none other than Yvonned Elliman of the '70 classic disco dance hit "If I can't have you" .......... and Yvonne you "GO GIRL".

Simple riff too all you geetar playas, get out the acoustic and join right in they're is a nice seat on the porch waiting for you. Mike NYC USA

  • I suppose this is a good place to end it.

Strange how I've known of this song so long, played and sang it so many times, but never put it in my favorites. Kind of scares me, due to past failures.

I've always had to put thoughts of failed relationships out of my mind to make the song "Real." Won't have to concern myself with that anymore.

I wish you peace and the best for what remains to be seen and lived.

    Ross

  • Thank you so much for this. This was one of the favorite songs of my brother who passed away last 2006.

  • This is such a beautiful song. (It's been in my favorites for quite some time)

( hoffe Ihr zwei seit OK )

  • just be with me. . .

  • I'm crying as I'm watching this - phenominal. Tranquill.

  • Someone got the tabs?

  • 1 of my fav music in d 70's...thanks for sharing...love the video!

  • Great Video wonderful song. *****!

  • I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it...never get tired of it :-)

  • nice

  • Love this tune

  • Such a beautiful song!

    Love it.

"tell me what I hope to find deep within me.."

  • I totally love this version of the song.

Eric brings it out gently and beautifully here.

  • this is just pure love.... i could cry cry cry....and love can be so cruel like a cypsy

  • I SO love this song! Memories! Beautiful!

  • nice

  • This is one of Clapton's best no matter who wrote it.

  • honestly no offense to eric clapton but it seems like he wants people to forget duane allman! he keeps performing layla and songs like these as if he played the guitar all the time--- it was duane!! and duane's versions are always better, alas! this is just a bore compared to Duane and Cowboy's version

  • This version is more fully developed than the original 'Cowboy' version. EC's version has a more polished sound, but the DA slide is beautiful. Can't say which is better. Stop all these silly comparisons and listen to both!!!!!

  • Duane Allman. Rock on....

  • Duane had died 3 years before this album was out.

  • yeah I know..I just never heard Erics version before ,if you can beleive it...there is actually a version here on YT from the guy who wrote it originally. Crazy

  • it is 461 ocean blvd

  • scott boyer rocks

  • This was the version we slow danced to at our wedding. Still going strong 28 yrs later

  • you bet its just so smooth to hear this music. Cant even stop listening.

  • an easy smooth songs i ever heard. Eric still the best despite of what happen to his son and the rests of his family. Eric still rocks

  • I love this video so much... Clapton is just the best and you've put visual images with this beautiful song that have no compare. Thanks so much for the beauty....

  • Leave it to Eric to find the best of both worlds

  • No, it's a cover which appeared on '461 Ocean Boulevard' in 1974 - it was written by Scott Boyer, who used to be in a band called Cowboy.

  • They played Mobile alot in the 70s.....Cowboy is a great and very under rated band.....

  • I assume that EC wrote the words and composed this song -- it has got to be one of the most beautiful love songs on earth, or at least of the '70's. I wish I could find excellent piano transcriptions of so many of his songs, since I put down the guitar long ago. . .Most who manage to play his songs on the piano must be skilled enough to do that job on their own. I'm forever stuck in classical. . .

  • Scott Boyer wrote this song......

  • Brings back memories of the mid 70s when i first got into the building trade....played all over the site non stop for days by one of the hod carriers

  • A hod carrier is a one tuff MFr n can take anything... A lil Gypsy softness is good medicine for a tuff MFr.

  • i will try to remember that the next time i throw one off the scaffolding

  • played at my wedding

  • tnx man...one of the old songs i've first learned with the guitar...nice song

  • rough picture meets sooth music=nostalgic combination, pretty Good job Graffinsfan.

  • Agreed

  • this brings back memories of the good old days, bit too much whisky etc though i struggle to remember, one of erics better songs!

  • Hei Du...

  • Well done. Beautiful song.

  • Thank you very much.

Did you have seen the lonely monkey at 1:30 & 3:00 - whenever Clapton sings "please be with me"?

  • My first homemade video at youtube ... I hope you enjoy it!
