@arliss122 Ccleaner doesnt cleen viruses it only clean files to make the pc faster/smoother. I suggest downloading a free anti virus program called avast, avast.com for downloading, ill make a tutorial soon on how to scan n delete viruses to help you :)

@BloodyAzzazzin You are correct that CCleaner is NOT for cleaning virus/malware problems. But there have been very few times when ANY antivirus software has cleaned a PC for me; and when it did, it has been many years ago.

@arliss122 Ccleaner i not fixing viruses or spyware its only cleaning to make your computer faster/smoother i suggest thar you download a free anti virus program called avast go to avast.com to download

When you have downloaded it will automaticly find the viruses or if not you can go to scan (on the left side bar) and scan the whole system this will take 5-25 min it depends on how much files you have

CCleaner is a good tool, but should be tweaked a little bit before you use it. First of all, I highly recommend unchecking everything under the application tab as it will also delete files like custom settings and such and might cause problems with the program.

Also I would uncheck Thumbnail Cache as those will be created again when you opena folder, so deleting this will actually slow that process down.

use DISK DEFRAGMENTOR,(on your computer) use DISK CLEANUP(onyour computer) and use CCLEANER. plus an anti virus like norton. I use all 4 of these daily and my computer is fast now, think of these programs as cleansers, they get all that crap out of there.

It's irresponsible for you to say ccleaner will speed up your pc. Some users may experience "slight" startup increase in performance.

CCleaner should be on every pc but do not think it will SPEED up your computer massively. Any application that claims to boost pc performance shouldnt be touched.

MrFox1231: ccleaner has no virus detection capabilities. It is not a AV.

yoshybrot: It wont touch your files. Only junk. Suggest only running default settings till your more comfortable using it

It finds little files like cookies, offline web-pages and deletes them to free up space on the hard-drive...

Windows has somthing similar pre-installed.

if you go into control panel - maintenance and preformance

you'll see a bunch of bullets with arrows next to them.

click "Free up space on your Hard-Disk" and it essentially does what this program does, just not as advanced
