  • I'm meeting chemmy on Saturday can't wait

  • Wow guys. Get f****** grip. Chemy's an awesome skier, can u ski down a slope at 80+MPH???? thought not.

  • Eddie the Eagle of womens skiing

  • That's what Chemmy does really well. Fails.

  • And i suppose your better?, i look forward to your world cup and olympic highlights video.

  • Typical comment from an idiot.

You don't compare Olympic athletes against "normal" people like me and you. You compare them against the other top athletes. When you compare Alcott to the people she is competing against, she's awful.

  • @dirtyharryw

if she was that bad she wouldnt be competing at world level would she. look at the top winter sports nations, austria, swiss, norway, canada, america, italy, germany.all these counties have alot of top resorts, facillities, snow and opportunity at hand.the UK doesnt, theres a couple of small resorts in scotland that are poor so ppl aint into winter sports, all the top nations its part of life from childhood. warmer nations without resorts and snow are sparsely represented at world level.

  • Your comments make no sense.

    a) She's not world class. She even failed to qualify for the World Cup, which is for the top 25 skiers in the world.

    c) Alcott lives in Switzerland for most of the year and trains every day, so facilities are no excuse for her shitness.

    b) If you'd have followed the Olympics, you'd have seen that even Lebanon and Iran had skiers competing. They were terrible too, but at least both girls managed to finish the slalom, while Alcott failed after missing her gate.

  • @dirtyharryw

im not talking about where she lives now, im talking about why she's not as good as the top skiiers, its the same reason the iranian and lebanese skiiers aint very good, a country sends its best to the olympics, she's the uk's best cus theres nobody else, the UK's not a winter sports nation, people aint interested. the few that make it have got into it usually from parents taking them as kids but theres no quality national support for them.she's not good but all there is basically

  • @ChuckMamuck

you look at the top winter sports nations, theres an abundence of talent to select from, they have the nationals, olympic trials for selection and its competitve, the best get in.

theres a lack of competition in the UK and talent, if she was austrian, american etc she wouldnt have even made the trials probably but for the UK she's a good skiier. theres no incentive in the UK, the odd few get into it but theres no talent to choose from.thats why shes there but well off the pace.

  • And as you sai, she is all there is.

My problem with her is that I saw her being interviewed before the games and she actually said that "her worst fear was that she'd peak early, win the first competition (downhill) and then struggle to live up to expectations"!!! I mean come on...!

She is, to be honest, on a par with Eddie Edwards when it comes to skill. The only difference is that she is good looking, comes from a privileged background and has a marketing team pushing her "brand".

  • @dirtyharryw

exactly, sounds like she started to believe the hype the media must have been saying cus we knew she wouldnt do well, barr them all falling anyway. shes a bit posh, good in front of the camera and like you say she looks good, a marketing dream and theyve been selling her hard so i suppose the games were still a success for her, albeit for the wrong reasons. now if eddie the eagle had got the funding and support she has i bet he could of jumped 50m, maybe even 50.5m. bless him

  • @dirtyharryw

and when you say i made no sense, ive been reffering to you saying,

" When you compare Alcott to the people she is competing against, she's awful"

thats why she's not as good, theres nobody else to select.

  • You know what, I absolutely agree with you. Like you say, if she would be Austrian, American or even Swedish she would not be good enough to win national competitions, therefore not qualifying for any international events.

And like you said, she has no natural talent. The only reason she has a reasonable grasp of skiing and represents GB is because she has been skiing since she was 18 months old due to her privileged background. If you or I had been skiing since that age, we'd be in Team GB too

  • @dirtyharryw didn't lindsey vonn miss a gate in the slalom, supposedly the best skier in the world.

Actually based on finishing olympic races, chemmy finished 4/5 but lindsey finished 2/5

  • Don't embarrass yourself by commenting on skiing videos when you don't know what you are talking about.

  • ha okay whatever

its funny that i'm watching skiing videos but don't know anything about it.

but hey you seem to know everything about me

  • Kid, I'm sure you watch horror movies too. Doesn't mean you know anything about killing. And watching Alcott ski is like watching a horror movie.
