1) Impose a price ceiling on all diesel fuel

2) eliminate any diesel excise tax

3) use coloured (tax free) diesel

in USA only few truck are on strike while others shut up and drive. and WORK for food.

Do truckers know that gas prices are high due to inflation and the Federal Reserve printing presses running on overtime? There already is a huge effort on tax day to support a national protest against the fed and our current tax system. I think some truckers should get in on that action.

Call many local Exxon/Mobil gas stations and tell the manager that you will not get your car repaired there, nor will you buy gasoline there until their parent company sets their price so that they can sell you gasoline and diesel fuel for $1.75 a gallon. Then only do business with other gas stations until Exxon/Mobil lowers their prices. After they lower prices do business with Exxon Mobil and shift this tactic to another Oil company's gas station chain to get them to lower prices and so on.

You have to go after the good freight. I get an excellent fuel surcharge on top of a good rate. The problem is there is a lot of ignorance on the part of the American public who don't understand that when truckers get rate increases for fuel,then the public picks up the tab from the grocery store and everywhere else. First off the first driver isn't an O/O. He is a fleece purchase driver aka sharecropper. Number two for real O/O either raise your rates or go broke hauling cheap freight. Truckers are their own worst enemies because they run around cutting rates and stealing each others freight. They BACK HAUL instead of operating at a profit. There are far too many truck and not enough freight so rates suffer because of it. The bottom feeders are the problem and will soon die off.

Yes, and if you raise your rates, the cost of what you haul goes up as well to compensate for it. There's a reason why all the prices of products in stores have gone up. The trucking industry is charging more for freight to compensate for rising fuel costs, so the companies who are having their freight hauled lay the cost on the consumer through inflation.

If ALL the truckers decided to go on strike, something would be done. Everything that you touch has been transported by a truck at some point and time. The truckers need to be supported by the people. The best way to get something started, something has to stop!! There is a trickle down effect that happens, and we must be willing to go the whole nine yards to be victorious. In the long run, supporting the truckers will also be supporting yourself. Yeah, hope you're not talking about using corn. Burning a food supply (feed for cattle and such) is the result of a desperate nation. Instead, both Dems AND Republicans should be pushing for the legalization of the hemp industry, which has far more uses than corn, isn't part of the food supply, would make more efficient and cleaner fuel than corn, and would create thousands upon thousands of new jobs. Haven't seen any Dems or Reps pushing for this. Till then, dig, use reserves, but no more war.

It doesn't matter no. I didn't say it did. Invading Iraq didn't help our cause much either. In England the majority of the price for a gallon of petrol is taken up by taxes - by the government. We have tried blockading (2000) petrol station forecourts and refinerys to no avail. But we have ourselves to blame. We just keep on voting the old boys back in power dont we? We need to rise up!
