  • Excellent job! Keep singing man. It's a tough song, and you've done it justice. :)

    You have a great voice!

  • @LegendaryPlumber cheer mate. it's good to know you could appreciate this even through the fairly bad compression the video went through when it was uploaded (that's why it sounds slightly 'metallic', for lack of a better desctiption; it messes with the reverb on the recording). if you like, i could link you to a page where you can stream or download the mp3 itself to hear it in better quality.

  • @Corallis Thanks. I would apprecitate that. =) I think it still sounds really good though. ^^ I've done the song too if you want to check it out on my page sometimes. Take care.

  • :) Great. Very well done, I love this song :)

    Nice voice :D

  • thank you. lost count of how many takes i had to do of this, but i think i finally got it right in the end...good thing too since it kind of gave me the faith in myself i needed after spending months wondering if my singing was going nowhere and i was jst wasting my time. nice to hear my efforts r appreciated by some ppl ;)

gonna record a couple more tracks soon with a friend of mine, so if u're ever interested, maybe u'll check them out once they're done...up to u rlly :P

  • Definetly! Message me when they are finished, I will be sure to check them out :)

  • hey, it's been...4 months since u've actually been on one of videos, but since u expressed an interest in the project and my singing generally, i'm letting u kno that i've uploaded the first in my series of jazz and traidtional pop duets with my friend. still kinda rough around the edges, mind u, and since i'd been out of practice singing-wise, he does outshine me, but we shud get things ironed out in time and it's a gd example of the sound we've got together so far.

  • Cool, sorry bout the delay... I don't come on here that often, just check it from time to time. I'll watch them soon, I promise, But its 12 at night now and i accidentally stood on my headphones so it might be 2morro when i check them lol :)

  • Nice job!! It's so soothing! What's your accent?? ^^

  • it's from south east England (think of the sort of accent our queen speaks in and make it a bit less upper-class).

  • Awesome! ^^ You sound great, keep singing :)

  • Hey sorry Dan, not sure where i got Rufus from... yep i hear what your saying re your vocal depth, but hey imagin what is to come... as your voice matures you will meet many more genra's .... Do you have lessons or voice training? anyways well done love listening to you...

    Blessings Donna

  • you probably picked up 'Rufus' from the list of people who have covered this in the description or the link of the video this is posted as a response to (i.e. Rufus Wainwright). i have indeed taken vocal coaching in the past ,although at the moment i do not take lessons regularly.

thanks for the comments, i appreciate them

  • I love it, im an absolute Leonard Cohen devotee and i thought your cover was just fantastic, moving, warming to the heart and inspiring... keep going with your passion to sing, trust the intuitive wisdom within you.... a bit more depth would sound great ... well done Rufus

  • thank you for taking the time to comment and i am pleased that you think i did justice to Cohen's lyrics. it's somewhat of a difficult song to get right because of my age - it's very much a song intended for an adult and it's hard for my obviously young voice to convey that sentiment of a bitter experience.

    P.S. my name's Dan
