You guys shouldn't want a show to last forever. I mean look at the Simpsons. The simpsons should have ended 13 years ago. Now it is just a shell of what it once was.

@kawrght Animaniacs was canceled for various reasons, not just bad budgets in the animation studio. Part of it was dissatisfaction with how many adults watched the show. (Pretty hypocritical since THEY INVITED several adult fans from the fan website to visit the studio!)

Cartoons suck today, All parents seem to be worried about is their children learning from cartoons. But Animaniacs was quite educational. Almost all of their scenes had a lesson in the humor.

@Ihartwalrusguy technically, yes. The show was not making enough profit toy wise. Why show a more expensive to produce that makes less profit when you can show a cheaper produced cash cow. Though I don't see why they could just show both.
They didn't want to "jump the shark". That would have killed the original writing style that we all enjoyed. To keep going with the jokes in such a style would have become stale much like The Simpsons has become.
I agree we need to bring this show on. I love this show alot. Everyone this show is the best cartoon show thatsever been made due to education and funnies.

To all...kids are NOT stupid. They pick up on what they see and hear. If they hear and see people cursing and being violent, they can pick up on it. It's parents and educators who have to teach children how to behave and even then, some kids don't listen.

Weep, fanbase for Animaniacs can never return. Why, you ask? Because Richard Stone passed away some years ago. Richard Stone wrote quite a bit of great music for Animaniacs. Without him I am afraid the show will never regain it's former splendor. T.T Join me in saying "Jamie Kellner, you're a putz! You putz-y person!" And always remember the fun we had watching this show.
I can agree they should not have canceled Freakazoid cause it was unfinished but in case of Animaniacs they were never actually canceled. Steven Spielberg just ran out of ideas and decided to stop the series rather than letting it go bad. As much as i love Animaniacs I still think it was a very good decision. This way all the episodes were equally good or better not like in case of other cartoons*Beetlejuice* where first 2-3 seasons are genius but 4th and so an are just a piece of crap :(

It promotes imagination & music, whereas all the other show offerings are either the superficial teen crap (see Disney & Nick), reality TV (Survivor, Idol, Big Brother, Bachelor, et al), programs with pre-teens getting knocked up (Secret Life, 16 & Pregnant, MTV's Skins, etc.), & heartless cartoons filled with insulting "humor" & fart jokes as opposed to the classic comedy found in even shows like Animaniacs.
I mean, yes, Animaniacs had fart jokes and sexual innuendos, but the shows from its time didn't derive all their jokes from those things. They were actually funny outside of just sexual references and cracks about people passing gas. They tried to incorporate true comedy and heart into such shows, whereas the shows now are dull, flat, lack wit, and are devoid of in true sense of humor, not counting the insulting kind found on supposed "adult" programing.
@AmyRoseCute: It means that nowadays, we've less variety, less heart, less wit, & less spark than was seen in year's past. Whereas there was always something for everyone back when, there's very little from which to choose these days, as much of the programing seems the same whether it be reality TV, teenybopper sitcoms, supposed "adult" programing, and "kid's shows" that follow the Dora framework. There's very little middle ground (The Hub exceptimg).
@AmyRoseCute: No. TV has had its ups & downs. Even the 90's & 80's--great as they were--had midcard (or worse) shows at times, but they had more great shows to balance that out. The Hub itself has good programing currently, ranging from classics like Fraggle Rock (80's), Carmen Sandiego (90's), & various sitcoms (Family Ties, Wonder Years, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, etc.) to a Goosebumps/Are You Afraid of the Dark type show by R.L. Stine, a game show akin to Double Dare, movies, and more.

Kids WB doesn't exist anymore, does it? I remember looking, went to Saturday... no Kids WB (Saturday was new episodes) and I went to weekdays starting at 3... no dice. What gives? they were so good with TV shows.. To all...kids are NOT stupid. They pick up on what they see and hear. If they hear and see people cursing and being violent, they can pick up on it. It's parents and educators who have to teach children how to behave and even then, some kids don't listen.

I like Animaniacas and also thanks for post this video now I know the reason why one of my favorite TV-show was cancellation in the first place. Weep, fanbase for Animaniacs can never return. Why, you ask? Because Richard Stone passed away some years ago. Richard Stone wrote quite a bit of great music for Animaniacs. Without him I am afraid the show will never regain it's former splendor. T.T Join me in saying "Jamie Kellner, you're a putz! You putz-y person!" And always remember the fun we had watching this show.

I can agree they should not have canceled Freakazoid cause it was unfinished but in case of Animaniacs they were never actually canceled. Steven Spielberg just ran out of ideas and decided to stop the series rather than letting it go bad. As much as i love Animaniacs I still think it was a very good decision. This way all the episodes were equally good or better not like in case of other cartoons*Beetlejuice* where first 2-3 seasons are genius but 4th and so an are just a piece of crap :(

It promotes imagination & music, whereas all the other show offerings are either the superficial teen crap (see Disney & Nick), reality TV (Survivor, Idol, Big Brother, Bachelor, et al), programs with pre-teens getting knocked up (Secret Life, 16 & Pregnant, MTV's Skins, etc.), & heartless cartoons filled with insulting "humor" & fart jokes as opposed to the classic comedy found in even shows like Animaniacs.

I mean, yes, Animaniacs had fart jokes and sexual innuendos, but the shows from its time didn't derive all their jokes from those things. They were actually funny outside of just sexual references and cracks about people passing gas. They tried to incorporate true comedy and heart into such shows, whereas the shows now are dull, flat, lack wit, and are devoid of in true sense of humor, not counting the insulting kind found on supposed "adult" programing.

Whereas there was always something for everyone back when, there's very little from which to choose these days, as much of the programing seems the same whether it be reality TV, teenybopper sitcoms, supposed "adult" programing, and "kid's shows" that follow the Dora framework. There's very little middle ground (The Hub exceptimg).

@AmyRoseCute: No. TV has had its ups & downs. Even the 90's & 80's--great as they were--had midcard (or worse) shows at times, but they had more great shows to balance that out. The Hub itself has good programing currently, ranging from classics like Fraggle Rock (80's), Carmen Sandiego (90's), & various sitcoms (Family Ties, Wonder Years, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, etc.) to a Goosebumps/Are You Afraid of the Dark type show by R.L. Stine, a game show akin to Double Dare, movies, and more.

something STUPID is the voice actors are still alive (last time i checked) except Skippys voice actor who hit puberty and cant to the voice of Skippy.SO that means they could make more episodes,the animators could of died but they could of gotten new ones if they did so YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Kids WB doesn't exist anymore, does it? I remember looking, went to Saturday... no Kids WB (Saturday was new episodes) and I went to weekdays starting at 3... no dice. What gives? they were so good with TV shows.. Pokemon (which, in reality wasn't that good, but as a kid I LOVED it and the games (still love the games)), static shock, yu-gi-oh (also horribly dubbed and such) ... Warner Bros. WE WANT KIDS WB BACK! :(

@erikgoya actually this behavior stems from young teenagers getting access to older shows such as gossip girl, the oc, ect through technology. Also magazines, just the media in general. The media has changed our culture. Not so much the cartoons designed for kids. Though I notice spongebob has a lot of sexual references lol. But I wish the animanicas would return. Even at my age, I'd watch it!

A lot of them have now stopped caring about what their kids listen to, they're off listening to popular pop music that has so many sexual references and they're just dropping profanities left and right. I know tons of kindergardeners (my mom works with them) and there are WAY more than just a handful that are dropping f-bombs every here and there amongst other things. When i was their age, stupid was bad :/

you know? i honestly believe that animaniacs MAY return, most likely as a film. just think about alvin & the chipmunks, & yogi bear, they came back. in 2011 they'll release the smurfs, hong kong phooey & tom & jerry. however, i don't expect it to be as good as the actual series. i just saw the trailer for the smurfs & nostalgia turned into a childhood rape Dx perhaps it may even turn into 3D >.< we may never know, & if they do make a film, they should AT least keep wakko's scouse accent x)

@skull902 He also axed a couple of shows before they went to air, including "the best thing we ever did at Warner Bros.," according to Paul Rugg -- the Daffy Duck Show. He also canned a Lobo spinoff series that tested well with kids, advertisers loved it, it was already advertised on the schedule, but Kellner didn't like it. With just a couple weeks before air, WB had to find a replacement. They picked up an unknown Japanese series called Pokemon. Kellner takes the credit for its popularity.

When he got promoted to the higher-ups at Time Warner, he was put in charge of all the Turner networks. His first action was canceling World Championship Wrestling in January 2001, and I'm sure that's not the only program to get the axe.
