  • Ringo eyes 1:08

  • THE BEATLES/Revolution

    本当にこの国は、ヒーロー不在。ゲバラみたいなリーダーは居ないのか…。

  • 1:54 - 2:10

    that's sex...

    and I LOVE Paul's face.

  • Shooby doo wop, shooby doo wop......

  • Correction: the Stones Street Fighting Man was an answer to the Beatles Revolution. Check the release dates of the respective singles. SFM was released 5 days after Revolution. The Stones always copied what the Beatles did.

  • does Harrison not deserve a closeup??

  • i love this song.

    end of story

the lyrics are so powerful it's insane

but that's the Beatles for you.

    Powerful. Legendary. EPIC

  • the greatest of the world

  • the best////////

  • Could be an ode to the Tea Party, with the substitute lyrics, "If you go carrying pictures of Rush Lim-bao ... "

  • I love seeing the Beatles in a live context. Shows that they were a real band. A real good one.

  • naw lifay906, they were just some cool ass white boys! for the sixties, they was crunked! out side of motown, no one had a more unique sound quite like theirs. they were the fathers of the revoultion of rock and roll.

  • @phai20 excuse me...... they were the very best (well in our white culture anyway).

  • @elizabethosler of course they were sweetie.... I believe that is what i stated, but even YOU have to admit when the beatles brought on the british envasion, mowtown came uptown and laid it down! and they BOTH kicked ass up and down the top 20. holla!

  • @phai20 Hey darlin' I was fully into "soul", Otis, Wilson, the lot. My best was the Temptations! Have a CD which I dance to occasionally! Black or white, who the f.. cares with music! If you give me more of your background, there is a story I can tell you!

  • @elizabethosler as i was MORE into rock and roll and the beatles more than I was into soul music or mowtown. Its was all good! but the beatles was more of a phenomena than elvis was at the time simply because they were brits who did not have easy acess to the rhythm & blues as white americans and they took everybody to school on their music even the black musicians of the day. What else can I say except they were the GREATEST musicians of the 20th century hands down!

  • @phai20 AREE!

  • that is derogatory to gay people. It is always offensive under any context, Beatles fan or not Beatles fan. If you don't like someone or something, say it, if you're going to insult them, keep it to yourself.

  • derogatory to *call* people gay.

  • Well, you know

You better free you mind instead ...

  • so good.

    i love paul's woman shirt. :)

  • It's easier to find. for some reason, i always stumble into that one before I can track this one down.

  • I can´t belive this was live! it sounded GREAT!!

  • They fuckin rock! I love the Beatles so much it's rediculous!!! Let It Be Naked and Abbey Road are the best albums ever, but this song stands on it's own

  • I love the way Paul looks at John,

    after John starts making those

noises at 1:54 -he's all like

    "um, what are you doing?"

  • Ok... All I have to say is if people are going to be on here to just talk crap about the Beatles, why are they even looking them up?

  • i love this song. john is my favorite.

  • gotta love pauls scream at the beginning XD

  • stop arguing about who was better. Do you think they were like 'oh were better than you" no they were friends that loved each others music. They both influenced each other, lennon wanted to be more like the stones in the later on and play harder stuff not the lovey dovey stuff paul always liked to play. many people blame yoko for there break up but paul was acting like the boss by the later 60's and john coudnt stand it anymore. Brian jones had plans to start a group with lennon and hendrix.

  • Man- to all the people that think the beatles sold out just to be heard in the US, you are sadly mistaken. John Lennon was just about banned from the US for his attacks on the corruption in our government, and his protests in Washington.

  • Revolution é de foder!

    Beatles é foderoso!!!

  • You guys are douche bags for over evaluating the music and not understanding it for what they both are, great influential bands. Stop arguing.

  • This is a classic song which is as relevent today as it was back then in 1968. Today it could refer to the violent anti-capitalist demonstrations which happen across the world.

  • I find stones fans, not the casual "oh that's good song" fans. But the Stones purists, who hate the beatles? Typically are the most insecure, overcompensating (be it with talk, dress, or amp volume) scared individuals who vicariously use louder rock music/a bands image as a guise for one's own coolness/toughness. ha

  • Look at the song Within you, without you - Never could the Stones reach such depth! And that's a fucking George song. Let along the JL/Macca dynamic. This is about songwriting, music, not image.

  • Sell out?

The Rolling Stones did disco in the late 70'S.

The Rolling Stones were middle-upper class kids, posing as rebels to be the Beatles "alternative". While The Beatles were working class kids, asked to transform their 'leather jacket, teddy boy' image as to penetrate a conservative US market.

  • I wished the Beatles had gone out on a final tour. Supposely, The Beatles were lined up for a Tour in 69. 3 of the 4 beatles signed off on it. Harrison was the hold out. He didn't like the venue had set up for the Beatles to play in. They were to play in stadiums. GH wanted to play in arenas and theatres.

  • Who are you talking to Carlo? I wasn't replying to you. I was making a very general statement that I thought to be true about the Beatles music.

I gave you the last word. My comment wasn't a reply to you. Don't bring me back into the fray.

Carlo, if you think the Stones produced superior music to the Beatles, then fine. You need to realize music is purely subjective. Great music is in the ear of the beholder.

  • Great Vid! That is the thing about the Beatles. They were the most versitile band history. They could do beautiful ballads like HJ, Let It BE and turn around and do hard rock like Revolution and Helter Skelter. They didn't repeat themselves like Elvis or the Stones. They didn't do the samething over and over. They kept experimenting.

  • You just couldn't keep your mouth shut. If they were the most versatile band in history why did they break up so soon? The Stones did a lot more. And if you call this hard rock you ought to be kidding me. Try "Rip This Joint". That's hard rock. And the Stones don't repeat themselves, smart ass. They go into different kinds of music. Take a look at the various albums they released over the decades.

  • I have to agree with your dad Carlo in that I am too old to be getting into a stupid pissing contest with some 20-something about who's the greatest rock band of all time. Personnaly, I could care less. But what you're asserting is completely wrong. There's no educating you is there? "Sigh"

  • what the heck is about this? You are too old and too stupid. You're the one who is trying to instigate this pissing contest. Wake up dude. I posted a comment 11 months ago, and you respond to it. This isn't a surprise. You are just trying to pick a fight. That is what you are all about. By the way, I'm asserting is completely right, idiot. Learn about music or shut up.

  • Nah, Carlo. As I mentioned before I like the Stones. I thought they had some pretty good songs. The Beatles had MORE great hits than the Stones. The Stones were the 2ND best band of all time. But, I'll let it go. I thought you could listen to facts. My mistake.

  • You found an old comment I made (and one I forgot I made), and you tried to pick a fight with me. You've done this this several times. The Stones are far better and have far more hits than the Beatles (because they've lasted longer). Simple facts you ahve to understand. The Stones are the best band of all the time. The beatles are somewhere in the top ten list, but they don't reach even number two i don't think.

  • giancarlo1985...what are you smoking?

  • gotta ask you what you're smoking. The Stones are far better. Just watch the 1978 Performances at Fort Worth for example.

  • Are you on or off your meds?

  • you ought to be kidding me. you people are delusional.

  • Hey Pal, I'll give you a fucking hard pill to swallow and I'm NOT shitting you. John Lennon 'alone' is bigger & better than The Rolling Stones, and I like The Stones.

You cattle missed the boat years ago, how sad.

  • Great Vid. The Beatles (IMHO)were the greatest rock band in Rock history. They'll probably never be another rock band like the Beatles. I'll never live to see a rock band come along and have 17 #1 hits along with 16 top 5 hits in the US market in less than 8 straight years. Why couldn't they have gone on a final tour.

  • The Beatles didn't care what the Stones were doing. It was the other way around actually.

  • PLEASE DON'T READ THIS. You will get kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of your life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However, if you don't post this comment to at least 3 videos, you will die within 2 days. Copy and paste this, to be saved

  • ushering in all that lovely loud stuff we call metal i remember hearing it when i was like 5 or something back in the very early 70,s and thinking wholy fuck batman what was that!

  • there is so much distortion!

  • and real distortion at that. pure cranked up overdriven tube amp scream. not that shitty digital processed shit that's been out there for the last 20 years!

  • preston isn't on this, but nicky hopkins (rolling stones' keyboardist) plays piano.

they layered the record over the live recording because the record company wanted to promo video to sound more like the actual recorded single. that's why the guitar solo and keyboards are note perfect as compared to the recording.

if you know the song you'll notice many more differences though.

  • quite heavy for the beatles nice ;-)

  • The studio track was added in the post production work on this video as the record company wanted it to sound more like the record as this was in effect a "Promo" video.

  • these are the gods of rock

  • When You Talk About Destruction...Don't You Know That You Can Count Me Out!/In!

  • We all want to change the world...

  • Gee, do you think they're tired of performing?!?

  • a least some of it (some guitars) are playback.. at the end you can listen to the studio track..

  • and where's Billy Preston (I think he was on keyboards, maybe not)

  • Count me out!!!BUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • If you want money for minds that hate. Can't think of anyone that hates more than the Bush haters

  • You have your distorted view.. i have mine.. RESPECT.. PEACE..

  • Oh really? Well tell me what "peace" aka the pacifists have ever accomplished? Look at WWII. The pacifists had Neville Chamberlian. The Hawks had FDR and Churchill. Who accomplished a more lasting peace? Pacifism is sitting on your butt and feeling morally superior while others die.

  • valeyard44 - I agree!

What have Pacifists ever accomplished? I mean, god, look at WWII - Hitler managed to make Germany a wealthy and conquering nation, while his more peaceful predecessors couldn't get Germany out of the impoverished rut it was stuck in after WWI.

  • funny how your only example is ww2. even with that in mind, the ending of ww2 was from a semi-pacifist standpoint. The decision to drop the a-bomb on japan was based on predicted american casualties if there was an invasion of japan. and pacifism eventually aided in the end to the cold war and the disarmament treaties.

  • errm... I was being sarcastic. I must not have been clear enough, sorry. I thought the ridiculousness of my statements would make it obvious - I forgot that there are fool out there who might actually say that.

(btw, Hiroshima may have been carefully calculated, but Nagasaki was unnecessary.)

  • well i apologize.

  • when you talk about destruction, dont you know that you can count me out?

  • UNBEATABLE BEATLES

  • yes right... WHAT!!!! rolling stones never played this song!!!

  • I love when Ringo does that thing with his eyebrows at 1:10. I also love when John grits his teeth in this video.

  • ^^^

    your a girl!!!OMFG< on the internet...rofl, jk

  • doncha know it's gonna be alright..? AWLRAAAAHHT!!

  • Lol, John looks a little stoned. Great video, great song, best band ever, ect.

  • They all look a little stoned. When Paul starts shaking his head and blinking it cracks me up. He and George keep laughing too. Lennon looks a bit serious though. I guess he's keeping with the mood of the song. He and Paul usually make each other laugh in these videos. Well, Lennon usually makes Paul laugh. It's pretty cute. They're always keeping an eye on each other.

  • I think thats cute too.

I love how in the 'Hey Jude' video, John keeps making faces at Paul, and Paul has to look away and struggle to keep from cracking up, and he resolutely looks away and gets into the song, but then, a few moments later, he can't help himself - he has too glance over again! And the whole thing starts from the top.

  • No other band can touch the beatles, period. =]

  • Is there any way to get a higher quality version of the audio?

  • Nope, I've got a theater print of this version on 16mm film and the sound is just as bad.

  • I meant better than the fidelity that YouTube delivers.

If you have a .WAV or high quality Mp3 I would love to get a copy.

  • I don't have an MP3 or Wav of it, but it wouldn't help in this case. I bought the film a few years ago thinking that the sound quality would be great, but it's just as bad on the original films as it is on youtube. Fuzzy and garbled. I took it to a friend's theater so he could run it between feature films and it sounded awful, even on his primo system. I had hoped it was just my cheesy system making it sound bad, but no such luck. The picture however was beautiful.

  • I don't think the Stones ever did Revolution?! Are you thinking of Street Fighting Man? Love the live vocals from this promo piece. Wish the whole thing was live.

  • beatles > everything else

  • WHAT !

  • The beatles never really did match the Stones in that song.

  • I'm afraid it was the Stones who were always playing catch up with the Beatles. In the summer of 68 the beatles released their famous Hey Jude/ Revolution single. It was a monster hit. Hey Jude was #1 for 6 weeks! It was the biggest hit of 1968. Revolution made it up to #3. It didn't make it to #1 because it couldn't get pass HJ.

  • I'm afraid you're wrong. The Stones simply surpassed the Beatles by the time the album Aftermath, and later, Beggars Banquet came out. I mean come on... you beatles fan are without logic. I don't care about Hey Jude. Try "Street Fightin' Man". That kicks ass.

  • Carlo, you're so naive. You don't know shit. The White album came out in November of 68 and by the end of 1970 it had outsold "Aftermath" and " Beggars" put together! Hell, The White balbum is the 9th best selling album in the US today. - Way ahead of anything the Stones put out. How come the Beatles outsold the Stones? Why did the Beatles put out more #1 hits than the Stones ?

  • I'm the naive one? I'm not the one who doesn't know shit like yourself. I could care less what you think. Your favorite group is vastly overrated. Why don't you bother looking at concert turn-out instead? WAy ahead? WRONG! IDIOT.

  • And the beatles did sell out. And not in a good way either. The Stones stuck to what they were good at and were more successful in the end. The beatles broke up. BTW, exile on main street is the best album ever.

  • "Exile" best album ever? ..Snicker.. Too bad Abbey Road and the White Album out sold "Exile". Hell, Abbey Road was the #1 album for 11 weeks (nonconsecutive) in 1970. Abbey outsold "Let it Bleed". Abbey outsold later Stone albums "Sticky Fingers" and Exile. I'm willing to bet by end of 1975 Abbey Road had outsold Sticky and Exile put together.

Exile, very remarkable average album. (Yawn) Sleazy album.

  • Give me a break. I don't care what they did. Who had the greater concert turn-outs? And most of all, who lasted longer? Who had the most innovation? Exile is not a remarkable "average" album. How stupid can you be? Is stupidity your suite?

  • And lets face it. The song just doesn't sound good.

  • The Beatles had bigger concert turnouts when they were touring. The Beatles were the first to do Stadium Rock concerts before Sell Out crowds. They were the first band to perform in BB/FB Stadiums. They sold out Shea Stadium and CandleStick park. The Beatles broke up while they were on TOP. Each Beatle wanted to have their own career and full control over their music. The Beatles are not together and out there touring. Can you come up with something more irrelevant?

  • No they didn't. Not at any point did they. The Stones always outsold and always had far more people. Take even the notorious free concerts (at Hyde Park for example)... half a million people showed up to just that one. The Stones were topping the Beatles by 1968 with concerts. You're the irrelevant one. You defend your average band. I'm defending a great band.

  • One other thing... there is a difference between average (beatles) and great (stones). And let me tell you something, if you think album sales indicate a good band you're an idiot. A complete total moron. I don't even have any justification to respond to such idiocy.

  • No, I thought album sales , most sales of singles and most #1 hits would qualify as the Best Rock in Roll band of all time. And the fact the Beatles broke up 37 years ago and are still out selling the Stones. (Reference the sales of "ONE" and Love.) Somebody likes them.

You're probably right, though. I have dragged this out too much. Feel free to respond. I won't call back.

  • No I don't think so. Album sales don't really count. You have to look at the quality of the band and the music. The Stones have been around for a long time... and have done successfully. They aren't selling out the stones by the way. The beatles did sell out though as a band. They broke up because they couldn't stick to music.

  • The Beatles currently, are still outselling the Rolling Stones.....The Beatles One outsold Forty Licks by the millions, even though Forty Licks came out 2 years after.

  • I agree. I think when the Beatles out sell the Stones by a 2 to 1 margin and STILL have 3 times more #1 hits and double the top 5 hits, although they broke up 37 years ago then you can safely say the Beatles are more "popular" than the Stones.

  • hahah, for sure

  • Fair enough Carlo, But the Beatles stop touring in 66.

The Beatles maybe would have gotten a turnout of a million had they done a "FREE" concert. But thats speculation on my part.

  • Yep, because the Beatles didn't have what it took. The Stones did. you know what "arena rock" is? By the way, the Stones consistently pull huge, mammoth crowds most bands cannot.

  • at the time, the Beatles were alot bigger then the Stones were.

  • because they are better

  • no they weren't. The stones were better.

  • it's true, Stones were catch up....a few months after Sgt. Pepper, the stones did their majesties satanic request....cover is very similar, and the album is basically a knock off....also, revolver owned aftermath

  • The Stones officially did the Beatles their last rites with Beggar's Banquet. Majesties Satanic Request was harshly criticized when it came out...
