Can you imagine HM The Queen saying that, and Hood was named after Admiral Hood, and The Bismark named after Karl Otto von Bismark

Its true that ships are ladys. However Captain Lindemann of the Bismarck claimed that Bismarck would no longer be regarded as 'she' but they would refer to it as 'he' as the ship was so powerful.

I like the use of "her" and "she" instead of "it". A ship is a lady, and should be treated as such.
