People getting all nostalgic about old MTV, the 90's etc. should take some valuable advice from Billy Corgan, "thinking about the future and thinking about the past is really a way of avoiding the present".
Thom Yorke and Jimmy Chamberlain playing "Muzzle"....? I'd see that. Wish the pumpkins would return to their Melancholy and pre era sound for one more hurrah...It would at least distract me for a few months...those first three records are great fun and often emotional experiences too. I'm happy for Billy that he is following his muse, but that don't mean shit to my ears or heart. Though "Stand inside your love" is a great latter day tune...but hey, I'm drunk...peace
The smashing pumpkins are the band I absolutely love but ive never even met one person who likes them. just phenominal. id love to see them live one day!
thanks so much for posting this; when i was younger, my friends and i used to watch this over and over. we had videotaped it off of tv. for some reason, we just thought it was awesome, and i see now that we were right.
no disrespect to billie, but i really miss THIS band.
@doombaby666 Music videos have never been about music and neither has been MTV. Music is music and you should draw your own images not some image a producer interprets of a song. I have never watched a video and said "wow thats an accurate interpretation of the lyrics and message in my head". Videos ruin the art of music which is an audible art not visual.
@nimitz1983 i strongly disagree, videos can tell a story, go watch leave before the lights come on by the arctic monkeys, it's like a short film with a really good soundtrack

Dugger1997 1 year ago
@Dugger1997 At 2:00, it sounds like a nameless jam, but at 2:14, it's "Where the boys fear to tread" (on Mellon Collie). I hope it helps
mathieuplasse1 1 year ago
@Dugger1997 It's Tribute to Johnny from the Zero single.

did the riff that mr. corgan plays at 3:48 ever appear in a pumpkins song?

i have no idea. it actually sounds like rhinoceros half a step down. i work it out.

i think that maybe that riff is might appear somewhere on the "aeroplane flies high" boxed set. not positive about that though...
