  • Thinking about the future or thinking about the past is just a way of avoiding the present

  • People getting all nostalgic about old MTV, the 90's etc. should take some valuable advice from Billy Corgan, "thinking about the future and thinking about the past is really a way of avoiding the present".

  • "the guy from radiohead"

lmaooooooooo just the way he says that !

  • the guy from Radiohead! got that one wrong billy, they have lasted and you have not.

  • Awesome quote "Thinking about the future and thinking about the past is really a way of aborting the present" Billy Corgan.

  • super sweet 16 hahaha shet . super super shit .

  • thank you for posting this, but it bothers me to no end that you cut out the part w/ kim deal's quote

  • what song played on 3:42 ?

  • What was James on about Flood?

  • whats the name of the track at 0:55 ?

  • @special21e Its called bodies :)

  • @special21e it was Bodies, off the Mellon Collie album

  • Thom Yorke and Jimmy Chamberlain playing "Muzzle"....? I'd see that. Wish the pumpkins would return to their Melancholy and pre era sound for one more hurrah...It would at least distract me for a few months...those first three records are great fun and often emotional experiences too. I'm happy for Billy that he is following his muse, but that don't mean shit to my ears or heart. Though "Stand inside your love" is a great latter day tune...but hey, I'm drunk...peace

  • Billy had some awesomely bad sweaters back in the day. Grunge, man...

  • @semprini20 wierd how they are always labelled as 'grunge', when they aren't a grunge band at all

  • corgan is a diva

  • They're still my favorite group, though not since Machina II.

  • smashing pumpkins thanks for the december concert in dallas in 1996 i will never forget it.

  • "That guy from Radiohead on vocals". Ha!

  • What's the song at 2:00 ?

  • @Dugger1997 At 2:00, it sounds like a nameless jam, but at 2:14, it's "Where the boys fear to tread" (on Mellon Collie). I hope it helps

  • @Dugger1997 It's Tribute to Johnny from the Zero single.

  • The smashing pumpkins are the band I absolutely love but ive never even met one person who likes them. just phenominal. id love to see them live one day!

  • we need someone to invent a cure for aids and tell the world they can only have it if the smashing pumpkins reunite properly

  • 7:10 ....Thom Yorke lead vocals for the smashing pumpkins... that would be rich.

  • the good ol days of the OLD smashing pumpkins. mellon collie and the infinite sadness is my favorite smashing pumpkins album.

i like "jellybelly", "fuck you (an ode to no one", and "love" among other songs off that album

  • MTV = music television ....... not fucking cribs or super sweet 16

  • @zachpygott piece o shit sellouts

  • @zachpygott Absolutely, MTV is total garbage today. IT was a great thing to have a music tv channel.

thats how I actually learned to play guitar

  • @zachpygott THANK YOU

  • lawl "do the rubberman"

    "take it away rubberman!"

  • What's the song from :56 to 1:01?

  • thanks so much for posting this; when i was younger, my friends and i used to watch this over and over. we had videotaped it off of tv. for some reason, we just thought it was awesome, and i see now that we were right.

no disrespect to billie, but i really miss THIS band.

  • mouthful...you..said :) i too miss THIS band

  • remember when Mtv was about music. god that was awesome

  • this was definitely an amazing period for mtv.

  • @doombaby666 Music videos have never been about music and neither has been MTV. Music is music and you should draw your own images not some image a producer interprets of a song. I have never watched a video and said "wow thats an accurate interpretation of the lyrics and message in my head". Videos ruin the art of music which is an audible art not visual.

  • @nimitz1983 i strongly disagree, videos can tell a story, go watch leave before the lights come on by the arctic monkeys, it's like a short film with a really good soundtrack

  • lol...hits of the smashing pumpkins w/ thom yorke? lmao

  • what kind of guitar is that one that says "I LOVE MY MOM" i mean billy's guitar

  • It's a fender stratocaster

  • '57 Fender Strat Reissue, with Lace Sensor pickups - red, blue silver.

~Sadly it was stolen and I don't believe Billy has ever been happy with anything else

  • did the riff that mr. corgan plays at 3:48 ever appear in a pumpkins song?

  • i have no idea. it actually sounds like rhinoceros half a step down. i work it out.

  • i think that maybe that riff is might appear somewhere on the "aeroplane flies high" boxed set. not positive about that though...

  • Yay, I learned a few new things from these, thanks :)!

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • thank you for posting this is great

  • Sweet cool vid having Thom Yorke doing some Pumpkins songs would be vary cool.

  • Great stuff. had no idea this existed. thanks.

  • wow

  • I used to have this in VHS, Great I can watch this again. Thank you !!
