The money you will save by missing out on hyperthreading and an extra thunderbolt port can go on an additional 21" monitor and perhaps Time Machine. If you are loaded then ignore everything I just said and get the top spec 27" with two extra monitors.
This year's 21.5 i5 Quad core (2.7GHZ / 12GB RAM / 1TB HDD / 512MB Radeon) will only cost £400 more than the one from 2009. Amazing value (assuming you get your 8GB RAM from Crucial / Kingston) and will blaze through FC7 and Adobe. Get a 3TB external HHD for £200, Apple Care for £140 and off you go - semi professional editing machine with insurance for less than £1800 with no viruses, daily updates or bloatware.

@HyperSugarKid actually, all iMacs have the same room for RAM. they all have can have 4 slots of RAM, 2 2GBs of RAM are preinstalled on there. so they leave u with 2 more empty slots. you can feel free and decide on how many GB's of RAM you would like to have and afford. i've went to a couple of sites that have 16GB RAMS which are pretty darn expensive. so i would go with 4x4GBs of RAM. its good enough. some people are so much into power and speed so choose what best fits u.

Not only is it inconvenient to access the ports, but it makes it more likely that users will leave cables connected to the iMac, so as not to need to struggle to reconnect the cables, over and over again. Thus, cables will constantly clutter the work space of this supposedly streamlined computer. What's the point of wireless mouse & keyboard when there will be so many cables dangling from the back of this computer?

That's the only thing that pisses me off about apple, because you have to buy EVERYTHING from them, and they always have these necessary add-ons which are purchased separately. The 21.5 inch iMac has 1920*1080 an is the same Hight resolution as the 27.

Windows is so stupid, I pay for firewall protection, windows also has it's own firewall, the computer is already loaded up with a different firewall and there is even more after that so when I need to download I spend 20 minutes trying to turn everything off and when there on they still don't protect you

i was thinking about getting a mini mac! but at the end of the day, you have to buy keyboard, mouse, external memory, ram momery .. and it got to like 900$ so i'll rather save up like 300 more and get an imac... :S

well im glad everyone is saying good things. i literally just bought the imac online. i was gonna get a macbook pro. but i already have a laptop which is kinda a pos but still. it sits on a computer desk. i never bring it anywhere. i did a little more research and found that for the same price the imac blows it outta the water. i couldnt be more excited. its coming monday!!!

Windows is so stupid, I pay for firewall protection, windows also has it's own firewall, the computer is already loaded up with a different firewall and there is even more after that so when I need to download I spend 20 minutes trying to turn everything off and when there on they still don't protect you
