  • "You'll find 'em in Kansas ... some of us are going on up there and set things aright"

  • "dying ain't much of a livin', boy"

  • One of clint eastwoods best films .Also very good intro music for the film. The best bit when he bumps into the union soldiers in town and he says are you going to whistle dixie or are you going to pull those pistols.

  • "F@#('em, birds gotta eat same as worms."

  • Best western ever! Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @JandJproductions1809 Got love the Girl!

  • Civil war pipes and drums...What could be better for Clint Eastwood?

  • And Hell is where he's headed.

He'll be waiting there for us Senator.

  • I had to come back.

    I know.

  • The double tongues are still in our politics -only worse. We miss Morricones music in the early west in the Eastwood pictures. Just seems to fit his personna

  • I suppose that mangy redbone hound's got no place else to go, either. ...spit

  • My squad leader said he started using dip because of how fucking badass Eastwood was in this film. He just spit tobacco juice on everyone.

  • "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining

  • Fuck yeah, Clint! Go Clint!!

  • It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life

  • Dont piss down my back and tell me its rainin

  • "Endeavor to persevere" -

When we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union.

  • to hell with them fellows, buzzards gotta eat, same as the worms.

  • If im not mistaken, this is a civil war era marching song but I cant recall the name.

  • Easy man to follow; Leaves dead men wherever he's been

  • Great video. Beautifully written and orchestrated theme. Eastwood's best movie, in my opinion, it had it all: the plot, the characters, the great movie lines and the music. And for Les Lesser today, thank you for your unforgettable performance, rest in peace.

  • @vjb007 Excuse the typo, very sorry: Len Lesser

  • Sunshine, sunflowers, and sons of bitches!

  • they're with the union, and we're gonin up there and set things right!

  • I'm just giving you life and your giving me life

  • Always with them negative waves, Moriarty! ALWAYS WITH THEM NEGATIVE WAVES!

    Oh, wait...

  • @katey1dog Nice ! Although that definately was from Kelly's heroes a World War 2 theme movie.

  • "Rock Star" games has got to make this into a game..like "Red Dead Redemption"..I'd buy it.

  • How can you not get FIRED UP listening to this? Let's go out and kick some yankee ass!!!

  • @Eastwoodfan95 I guess we all died a little in that damn bloody war!!! luv this film, Eaastwood allways at his best!!!!

  • "Capt'n Red legs Terrell, and five men, against Josey Wales, this I wanna see"

  • "I ain't draggin' you all over Hell's Creation drippin' off blood over half of Missouri!"

  • Syncopation! This is one of the best!

  • graet line dont piss down my backj

  • You Drink It..

  • I don't want to hear Josey Wales dead...I want to see Josey Wales dead.

  • I love The Outlaw Josey Whales. It's my favorite Eastwood western, besides High Plains Drifter. Chief Dan George was great in it.

  • The Outlaw Josey Wales was one of the first Clint Eastwood movies I ever saw, and to this day it's in my top three.

  • The syncopation and arrangement are not period. but the sind parts are "The Girl i left Behind Me", and a hornpipe, the name of which eludes me right now. both were period tunes played on fifes during the Civil War. All in all an interesting piece of music.

  • He's not a hard man to track......leaves dead men where ever he goes

  • You would have to think the enemy would be scared shitless if they heard this music on the battlefield being blasted all the way up at them.

  • clasic and best

  • Clint was perhaps the next John Wayne when it comes to tough guy heroes.

  • "Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy." another classic quote from an awesome film!

  • f..k what a saundt....k

  • "It's for lookin' through"

    and...

Please Look For The "Star Wars"-"Imperial Walker" which is about 1/2 way through this video, slipped in there by the original poster.

It is only a second, so you must watch carefully!

  • @Valkyrie801 Thats bullshit about the Star Wars Imperial Walker....

  • "Buzzards got to eat, same as worms..." :-)

  • -Old Indian cocks gun at Josey- Indian: Howdy. Josey: Howdy. Indian: You know I'm getting better at this. Only an Indian can do this. Josey: So you say an Indian can do this? -Indian woman cocks gun behind the Old Indian- Old Indian: Beaten by a woman.

  • got the dvd downstairs. should i watch it?

  • "Dyin ain't much of a livin boy"

  • I played hooky to watch this movie when i was a kid

  • 'Whenever I get to likin' someone, they ain't around very long...'

Josie : Whooped 'em again boy.

  • @theaiman this is a kick ass movie!! thumbs up!!! hell yeah!! go josie!!

  • awesome

  • you must watch Ulzana¨s raid

  • "I guess we all died a little in that damn war."

GREAT movie. Eastwood's best. Excellent score by Jerry Fielding. Love the titles music, especially. Thanks for posting it!

  • excellent not his best......GBU ! 1966 sergio leonne and ennio morricone with eli wallach and lee van cleef....

    goofball

  • My man Clint is one of a kind.

  • spends much of his time being humbled. I've watcher this film free @ Movie Watcher [dot] US

  • who makes a good reproduction of the 1850 walkers?

  • Aldo Uberti firearms is currently the only company that reproduces the 1847 Colt Walker.

  • @Remington1875 I have a Uberti Remington 1858 "New Army" in .44 caliber. I'm surprised how accurate it is out to about 40 yards or so. I recovered some of the balls that had been fired and found that they were swaged down to cylinders instead of round balls. I'm sure that must be the reason for the accuracy. A very nice reproduction.

  • I hear the "Liverpool Hornpipe" being played too.

  • aint this the one where he spits on everything?

Laughed my ass of when he put a mouthful of tobacco between the eyes of the dog!

  • Best Clint Eastwood movie EVER - and so say all of us - Muhahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • It is war.

    A soldiers ballad.

    I like it.

    Like,

    "It turns me on"

The percussion and then the wood winds are excellent!

  • GREAT

  • It was from a book called, "Gone to Texas" that the screenplay was made of. I think the main theme is what does a man when his whole world just goes to hell and loses everything and then he does anything and everything to survive and try to return to some form of normality. The American Civil War killed 600,000 people and this sort of scenario happened probably many times as it does in all such horrible wars.

  • Fletcher: You promised me those men would be treated decently.

Sen. Lane: They were treated decently. They were decently fed, and then they were decently shot.

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone know the name of the fife and drum cadence that the theme is based on? I'm sure it's an actual cadence used by the army at some point, but I haven't been able to track it down yet.

  • It's a modern adaptation of the "Old 1812 - Quickstep"

  • Thanks much! Having the title, I've found tons of references now.

I apologize for not checking all of the posts here, though ;)

  • "The Old 1812

is the name of the fife/drum tune. love it!!

  • The guy who posted this is quite apparently Japanese...

and he has quite offended me putting an "Imperial Walker" into a story about the civil war.

  • Also...

I would like to direct your attention toward the middle of the post.

A "Star Wars Imperial Walker" has been inserted to the seen...

I just wonder if you see it!

This has nothing to do with me...

Just the guy who posted it.

  • He means that this world is nothing but world...

But the war makes the man...

and it is what is left of him that comes out of the ditch,

where he was shot and left for dead...

He got up and commanded once again!

  • Fucking hell does that mean?

  • Fletcher: I think I'll go down to Mexico to try to find him.

    Josey Wales: And then?

Fletcher: He's got the first move. I owe him that. I think I'll try to tell him the war is over. What do you say, Mr. Wilson?

Josey Wales: I reckon so. I guess we all died a little in that damn war.

  • Dieing aint mutch of a living

  • you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie.

  • watch this at least 5 times a year----a keeper

  • Hey swingtown, I have lots of favorite movies but this is my all time favorite; I am 35 now and discovered this when I was 17. Since then I have probably watched it over 100 times. It has so much heart and the dialogue is as good as it gets, timeless really.

  • Don't piss down my back and tell me its rainin'. Classic film!

  • you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie

  • Dyin' aint much of a livin'.....

  • I'm sorry to all the Good the Bad, and the Ugly fans, but this is Clint's masterpeice, and this the Oscar nominated score; I know I will take the heat for this , but this is better music.

  • You didn't mean to cause offence........

    None taken!

  • For a Few Dollars More does it for me. This is good too, I like Jerry Fielding's work a lot.

  • I'm inclined to agree with you.

  • To this day there is a Red Leg Battalion. Hardcore, battle-hardened training unit in TX. Things have changed a bit...

  • The book "Gone To Texas" which the movie was based off of was also very good

  • Drum+fife=epic
