  • I was actually hoping that book existed....I googled it

  • "here Sam I saved you a signed copy"

Oh know you don't!!!! It's mine!!! I bet the action figure has a string on the back and when you pull it it says "but not for long!" or "or so we thought!"

  • They should actually make a book like that

  • Can i take 2 Bobs books?

  • So Brits know the history of america

  • @Themajestics99 no they don't

  • I want a Bob's book.

  • I WANT A SIGNED COPY!

  • isn't Christopher Columbus from Spain?

  • @RaRstudios103 He was from Genoa, which is where Italy is today. Spain funded his journey.

  • @IamYoddle Thanks. Now i Know!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @onacruz13 Yes, but it was at that time called the Virginia Colony

  • Nice history, TEA TAX was funny lol only the British (including British-Americans) could get so upset over tea haha

  • he forgot the wikings!

  • @H03dur that was 700 to 1050 Ce. they never saw america either

  • Sir Walter Raleigh landed in present day North Carolina not Virginia.

  • I bet if u pull a string on the back of the doll it says "but not for long!"

  • Discovory = theif & death who wants to be discoverd next .

  • He totally left out the French, who landed and settled in Florida before the Spanish

  • i want that book :(

  • there u go we europeans stole the ture pure amercians home and now modern day amercains are just all desendants form imagrant its the thurth whether the u.s. like or not

  • @vindicari Actually the term American is itself a western concept. The native's did not call themselves American and today many prefer to refer to themselves as "the people" or something like that as opposed to native america or amerindian.

  • lovely, they try to stop before the revalution, signify that with teacups once they stop pretending thats the end, and skim over them losing. probablyjust as bad as we were taught visa versa. we were taught that britan hatedus until we saved their butts in ww2 they ( from my point of view, which is most likely wrong)

  • Thanks to this big blue thing!

  • Or so we thought!

  • Mining gold? Mining?? Try stealing gold!

  • @InnannasRainbow1 Thanksgiving: The Greatest Holiday That Never Happened. That's right, it did not happen as the history books say it did. Btw, the English and European settlers were so thankful for the help of the Indians that they enslaved them, starved them, stole everything from them, took away the culture and language aaaaaaaaaand gave them blankets formerly used by smallpox victims.

  • In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue

In 1493, Columbus stole all he could see.

Btw, my American Indian ancestors were there much longer than 400-500 years.

  • @InnannasRainbow1 i think the 400-500 years refers to Leif the Lucky, a viking who was said to have landed in the north of North America around 1000 AD and called his very brief settlement Vinland because they could grow grapes there. They didn't stay very long apparently.

  • But the Pilgrims landed in massachusetts and they did have some animals, just most of them died when a ship sank.

  • colombus was almost spanish and the economic support was given by catholic kings from spain. dont teach bullshit about italians discovering america

  • What about the Vikings who discovered America almost 500 years before Columbus?

  • @narcissusgray they never actually settled and so they don't count it but i am with you because i have viking descent

  • @narcissusgray It might be why the guy says "At least 500 years" since Europe bothered them.

  • WTF Sir Walter Raleigh landed in North Carolina.

  • @AmericanNohbuddy Actually he landed in what he called Virginia and founded the Roanoke Colony. The territory was later "broken up" into Virginia and North Carolina.

  • Just did my history homework...

  • You forgot to mention the Chinese discovery of America.

  • @e0o9kii and the vikings

  • @PlzCallBck i no

  • WHAT ABOUT SWEDEN AND DELAWERE?!!

  • GOD DAMMIT GIVE ME THAT BOOK

  • My english is quit bad but does Italian mean spanish in my language? -> Italy didnt even excist in these ages.

  • @turner2123 No no he means Italian mate, he's just saying it as more kids no Italy than Genoa, and whilst your right about Italy not existing, the Italian states did, hope this helps ^^

  • NEW YORK WAS NAMED AFTER THE DUKE OF YORK, Queens county in NY was named after the queen Catherine of Braganza, and the Kings County (Brooklyn) was named after the king Charles II

  • BTW Columbus landed in Hispaniola, actual Dominican Republic side, not Puerto Rico

  • @GRANBESTIA On the first trip, he claimed Hispaniola, but he claimed Puerto Rico in 1493.

  • @TBAWriter exactly, the isle of SAN JUAN, in this case P.R. wasn't where he landed first and for the record Columbus DID discover America, nevertheless this show is fine, but just fine.

  • I also want that book:)

  • I want him to be my history teacher

    and I want that book

  • in that case that book is sooooooooo full of mistakes

  • @fetch26291 he meant to say modern day virginia

  • @chaoticevanzach what do you mean by modern Virginia?

  • Biggest error: Pilgrims landed in New England. NOT Virginia.

  • @Fetch26291 pilgrims settled in many places

  • @Fetch26291 yup

  • These guys could help anyone out on a quiz!

  • I only wish those damn Pilgrims stayed in England.. then our society wouldn't be so damn uptight about sex, guts, and cool shows like Horrible Histories (please let us import it! I can't stay on Youtube all the time!)

  • @TheTraumarama2 yeah yo, like the court of CHARLES II

  • @ skygracec,i agree i really want the guy to be my history teacher :D

  • @luv2dance450 no he was from Italy but sailed under Spanish rule in 1492, sorry he's not Portuguese.

  • @gt4611 yeah I meant to say that he was raised and lived in portugal.

  • Christopher Columbus was portuguese

  • @luv2dance450

Cristophoro Colombo was born in Genoa, present day Italy. And the Portuguese flat out rejected Colombus and his ideas of adventuring.

  • @TheTraumarama2 Oh I know, but i mean he grew up and was raised in Portugal. And portugal only rejected him because he thought that he was going to find India going West, but Portugal knew very well that India was in the opposite side since they were the first ones to explore India.

  • @TheTraumarama2 i thought Colombo was Spanish, and i mean it i'm not kidding cuz scientist found out that he wasn't only Spanish, but Jewish. They made a research about the families from Catalunya and the name COLOMBO was a very known family from one of the JUDERIAS of Barcelona back in the XV century. But hey, i might be mistaken

  • Comment removed

  • @luv2dance450 Nope he was from Genoa which was part of the Italian city states and his expedition was funded by Spain.

  • @BriBriKelly Oh that's right, but I meant he lived in Portugal.

  • no pocahontas?

  • @hermionegranger766 yeah right!

  • He covered 3 of my history units in four minutes as apposed to our 2-3 months.

  • US of A??

  • @nutchanok4 United States of America.

  • actually the very last battle was in 1812 and that's the sad part of the american history that nobody wants to tell, when the British went to war against u.s. and burned down the white house, nevertheless thanks to mother nature (a hurricane in fact) the british had to stop for a few hours and after that, the americans won the war. Or at least that's what they told me in high school

  • @GRANBESTIA actually Canada was responsible for the White House burning

but we were the Brit's allies

  • @sofi14331004 oh... well back in high school teachers said something different but ok i believe you

  • lol the books price just keeps decreasing !!!

  • THE ENGLISH ARE COMING! THE ENGLISH ARE COMING!

  • @Revexey By which you mean those who're decended from them are not one of them, they're American or Mexican... Or South American but non the less if you're American, Mexican or South American the Spanish didn't steal your land infact had it not been for them you wouldn't be you.

  • @Revexey Why are you native American, Incan, Mayan or an Aztec ofcourse not, for practically all of those races have died out!

  • I WANT A BOB HALE ACTION FIGURE !!!!!!! :)

  • oh man , the Spanish r so greedy after they took our land.

  • They forgot the Lief Ericsson (Norwegian Viking) Discovered Vinland and Newfoundland.

  • i want that book

  • 1:44

Never sprouts, Mr.Hale, they weren't THAT desperate

  • And that's why americans don't drink tea

  • Some things remain constant throughout history, taxes. Our government taxes almost everything they can. Like the line in the Beatles song, "Taxman," If you drive a car - I’ll tax the street; If you try to sit - I’ll tax your seat; If you get too cold - I’ll tax the heat; If you take a walk - I'll tax your feet. The phrase, "Free as the air," may soon become obsolete. Where and when will there be another tax revolt against our very own government's tyranny?

  • @1955thekeeper Offtopic.

  • @trppmdm !?!??!?!?!? What?

  • @1955thekeeper I am saying that this is a show, not a video debate about the taxes. Please don't comment about the hardships in life. Thank you.

  • @trppmdm Do you honestly believe that this format of "history" is like Monty Python meant only to entertain? Anything on TY is fair game to stimulate commentary and discussion about any related topic and substance, Vlad. No one of position or power has established nor appointed you as the arbitrator of proper topics. This is not even your post to defend or define. Do you get this uppity and self-righteous with every commentator or just with me? Your attitude is now the NEW topic to chop up bro.

  • @1955thekeeper First of all, this I wasn't forcing you, I was just asking you. I was telling you that this is just a small video which is a kid's show. A kid's show! Not a forum for nerds!

  • @trppmdm Dishonesty with one's self is a terrible affliction to have. Have you read all the other comments on this video, what am I asking, of course you have. Did you butt your nose into their commentary as you have with mine? And by the way, I totally resent the term nerd being used to describe me. I am a self-educated individual with a greater than average lexicon and I am proud of it, but by no stretch of its definition am I a "nerd." Don't you understand, YOU are the topic of discussion.

  • @1955thekeeper Dishonesty? You're really beginning to be superstitious. Are you asking why I have not commented on other people? I haven't applied the term "nerd" to you. I said a forum [for] nerds! I haven't applied nerd to you! I said this isn't a proper place for debate. I want to see funny or interesting comments on this lighthearted show. I asked you to not post about the taxes. You were talking about rebellious stuff. Do what you want, but don't put them here.

  • "And here English reinforcments come to Jamestown! A 102 very religious people from the British midlands, the Pilgrim Fathers, who made the Jamestown lot, who spent so much time digging up gold they forgot to grow food look like the smartest men on Earth. They bring no plows, no fishing line, no animals, though one of them does bring 139 pairs of shoes... Now there are some very wierd prorities."

    Lololololooooool xD

  • The pilgrims didn't land in Jamestown they landed in Plymouth Rock. Also in the 1750s the Spanish didn't participate in the French and Indian war and the native americans are a bunch of different tribes, some supported the french and some supported the British. The British only gave opposing tribe the small pox blankets. Its ok UK, you tried.

  • I love HH news :D

  • The Europeans have really bad aim when it comes to discovering America...

  • "Oh no! The English are coming! The English are coming!"

  • bob hale has this thing with helicopters i swear... :D

  • Incidentally the Tea tax really only affected rich merchants who were trading it on large scale for business purposes, a vast majority of the American populous drank coffee and therefore could not have cared less.

  • everytime my and my sis watch a hh episode, when we hear the theme tune for the news, we cross everything we can and chant " bob hale bob hale bob hale" love' em!

  • so that's where the tea party comes from!!!!

  • i want the bob hale figure!

  • They say that`s the new world, but its the same as the old one.... (back then of course)

  • THE FOUNDERS OF AMERICA WAS, THE GREEK CRETANS

  • British U ARE BIG ASSHOLE, THE AMERICAN GOVERMENT CONTROLLED FROM ANGLO-BARBARIANS , LIKE U

  • @unfukkkmee - Nope! Jewish kikes now own and control America. Anglo-Americans and Irish-Americans have virtually lost all their power and control.

  • @LittleDirtyBlonde23 THE REPTILIAN ZIONISTS IS GOVERMENT IN USA.

  • MUM!

GIVE ME THAT FOR CHRISTMAS XD

  • The war STARTED in 1776

  • @atomfullerene

First battles were in 1775. They declared independence in 76.

  • I want him to be my history teacher o.o

  • @skgracec SAME haha

  • @skgracec same here buddy

  • I WANT THAT DARN BOOK!...Dear god,

  • Ummm... Sorry Bob. Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts, at Plymouth, not Jamestown VA. I think you need to recheck your history. =)

  • The english are coming the english are coming!

  • @djcrazythomashulks - year i laughed at that too

  • Comment removed

  • I'm confused at 2:10! did they just say the Pilgrims landed in Vagina? Or are they just trying to rush threw the facts?

  • i want one of bobs books!!

  • Isn't that the sweedish flag not the british??

  • @froggal18 No.... Sweden's flag is blue and yellow. And they aren't the British, they are the English, they aren't called the British until the formation of Great Britain. But for now, they're the english, hence England.

  • @froggal18 it's the English Flag. British flag in red, white and blue and the English flag is just a red cross on a white background. How do you not know this?!

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic I live in the United States of America and I did not know that there was a difference between the British flag and the english >:P

  • @froggal18 omg X_X

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic Because who gives a shit? Honestly, the English still seem to think they are important or something and all the world knows all about British internal affairs.

  • @froggal18 Neither, it's the English flag. Swedish flag is a yellow cross on a bright blue background, I think.

  • Actually I would give the Spanish the credit for discovering the American continental inland and not the British. Spain did conquer the Aztecs in Mexico and formed New Spain before even England set its eyes on the Americas. Britain was by the Spanish claims of gold and so they went to get some gold for themselves, which the report did point out.

  • "THE ENGLISH ARE COMING, THE ENGLISH ARE COMING" LOL

  • hands up who actually wants that book

  • @mrstarranthightopp And the action figure!

  • they had to eat horrible things, like poo, and each other, and sprouts, and dirty water.. though not sprouts obviously. hahahahahaaa. This is f'ing awesome. Beats the hell out of Sesame Street. btw, the Virginians were wasting a lot of time mining for gold... but there was never any gold in Virginia. My home sweet home. Instead they stuck around because of tobacco. Lung cancer for everyone! You're welcome...

  • I just discovered this show (is it is a show? series of short specials?), but I love it. well done.

  • MUST BUY BOOK NOW

  • Bob Hale has to be my favourite part of the HH series; other than the Stupid Deaths sketch that is.

    OR SO WE THOUGHT:

Because we forget about that rather humorous guy Cliff Whiteley

  • i love pooo

  • Missionaries gave fist nations blankets to try to help, instead gave the smallpox brilliant

  • 'really took the biscuit (groan)'-bad joke

  • Comment removed

  • Roanoke was in what is today North Carolina, not today's Virginia, although they called everything in what would be the USA "Virginia" at the time.

  • BOB HALE FOR CHILDREN IN NEED 2011!!!!!

  • Columbus sailed for Spain, not Italy. Spain colonized the SW of the U.S. as well as most of Central & S. America

  • @mmedefarge He did sail for Spain but Chistopher Columbus was an Italian man. He tried to get Italy on board with the plan to find India but they said no so he took it to Spain and well the rest is history.

  • @WordBearers194 They showed CC sailing under an Italian flag to the Americas, which is totally wrong.

  • @WordBearers194 There was no flag of Italy back then either.

  • I really want that book

  • I love this Guy...! not in a faggoty way though....

  • Also the small pox blankets thing is considered a myth the English never intentionally gave the Natives smallpox, they were just so susceptible to it that it killed most of them.

  • He actually thought it was Japan then "realized" it was the East Indies, hence the name West Indies

  • I know it's a British show, but the need to check their facts on this clip. The American Revolution ended in 1781, with the treaty being signed in 1783. In 1776, the American colonies declared their independence. Also, the Spanish landed in Mexico and traveled throughout what is the Southern US before the English settled there.

I still love HH though--I just happen to be a US History teacher :)

  • @cuintherok spanish landed in florida mate

  • @DrinkToIreland Yes, I know...but not just in Florida. I was just establishing that the English were not the first European country to est up their Empire in the New World.

  • @cuintherok ah ok i must've read it wrong. Cheers mate

  • The Pilgrims landed in Plymouth, not Jamestown.

  • I love how the American Revolution is represented by teapots being thrown at English ships. :) As an American, it is always interesting to hear my country's history from a forgien perspective.

  • @treblemaker21 No offense mate, but Americans always tell their side of history...

  • I thought Christopher Columbus was Spanish? :S

  • @Schmoley96 Its only thought that because Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain financed his expedition.

  • @Schmoley96 No, he was Italian. He got funding for his journey from Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain.

  • @treblemaker21 Correct, the big irony of the whole Columbus thing being that he was Italian, he learned a great deal of his craft in Portugal, he sailed for Spain and he discovered the Caribbean Isles...About the only place he never got to was his intended destination of India...Wish I could be a historical hero for getting that lost.

  • i want the free Bob Hale dollie:L

  • i lol'd at the doll, it should have a pullstring that makes him say "BUT NOT FOR LONG!!"

  • Id read the book!!!!!!!¡Huh
