@Sweermervs: Lol at the "pun intended". Well its not a question of being negative its just stating a personal opinion. I tried watching the first 6 episodes and I just didn't like it. I didn't understand how they could make the premise of mountaineers on steroids so interesting
Can anyone tell me if there is an episode where they get attacked by giant polar bears?? And they put on these white wing things?? There's a cartoon like this and Centurions and I've been looking for it for YEARS, don't know if this is it or not, any help would be appreciated!!
ARE OU FREAKIN KIDDING ME!? That's a huge understatement.
Even thogh I've brought Gobots because they were the originals and I hated lame copypastas I always said Transformers were better but I never dared to say such a thing about Sky Commanders.
Dude, HAVE YOU SEEN THESE TOYS!?
You could littetally turn your room into a string maze with action figures, wing-jets and two HUGE fucking battle stations, GI JOE were only more expensive because they were famous while sky commanders were obscure.
cartoons today sucks... bring back everything special. G Force, saber rider, centurions, brave starr, dino riders, MASK, Bionic 6, defenders of the earth, young robinhood, ulysses 31 DAMN 80's were so SPECIAL.
When i was a kid all you needed was a GI Joe/Stars Wars Figure and a shoe string for hours of fun. Then these came out..... Somebody was paying attention.
I remember the toy line very well. This show never saw the light of day on my TV. The action figures were really well done. The sculptor was very detailed in the faces. For years i could never remember the name of this. Thank you for posting.
Against storms no, because they would need to get in narrow places to discover pheta 7. Because laser cable and hotwire is really awesome, because gravity lock is far more awesome than spinning rotors.
@chaaaaady73 I agree. Jet packs or any flying vehicles would've made more sense, but it that would've been seen as too unoriginal. Besides, these were supposed to be futuristic warrior MOUNTAINEERS. It was about following a theme, not logic.
I love this intro. And it was a surprisingly serious show for its time. I remember an episode where the Raiders grunts were casually killed off. I mean, this was a time when GI Joe was obliged to show cannon fodder bailing out safely as their vehicles were shot down. Here I actually saw the aforementioned nameless Raiders falling to their doom.
It was ridiculous - two armies on cables. I absolutely loved it though! Even had two of the toys. One had a grappling hook and one had this popping up action. I guess it's a Tribes thing lol! (Another fictional universe where the armies too had laughable armaments. It's only the premise that's ridiculous though. The game is pure awesome.)
your right nirchrome ... i too always mistook it from centurions till now... today i got it thanks to wikipedia and your clips and given me memories back after 14 years... Thanks Man
I don't remember the cartoon much but I do remember the toys, they were very unique and innovative. Hanging strings all across my living room to different furnitures and stuff.
OH MY FRIGGIN GOD, i watched this on CN when i was a kid, and i didnt even remember it till stumbling uppon this video. Thank you so much for jolting my memory.
It may seem ridiculous now (soldiers hanging to wires), but back then I regarded this one of the best toy series ever. Concept aside the sleek lines and the color scheme hold up to this day IMO. Thanks for the vid and the memories. 5 stars.
This is probably the only 80's action-oriented cartoon I never got into. I didn't understand why the use of miles and miles of cable if they could have just equipped themselves with combat-ready jetpacks?
when i was little, this was aired on channel 7 along with Mask, Spiral Zone , Silverhawks , and Robocop animated series as well as Thundercats , Gummy bears and Centurions
