  • thanks for sharing, carolyn. you should also try out bare minerals. it's very similar to what you're using and works great. you can find it at sephora.

  • Your website is scary. I would never type in my personal information on something like that. :(

  • Carolyn, I too have a very large portwine stain that covers my left forehead to my eyelid and then below my right eye down to my neck and chest. I used to use dermablend but have been using Covergirl Concealer in the tube/stick along with pressed powder and can get COMPLETE coverage. If I use that alone I look like a porcelan doll so then I go over my face with a light bronzer to shade and contour. It doesn't have to be everyday wear but it can and is not nearly as heavy as other covering pro

  • Opppsi mean then.

  • Should try sheer cover hen do an update on our video...

  • Awwh, she's so cute. lol.

  • I have port wine birthmark on my cheek a little like yours, but mine is alot bigger and goes all the way up to my eye, it covers my cheek, im 15 by the way, also mine is darker than yours, but i actually love it! I always get the most attention, obviously it can be hard sometimes when people say things, but at the end of the day its who i am and there is no need to cover it up, just go with it :)

  • w/e dudeeeeeeeee im just being honest where all humans im just glad i can treat my shit okkkkk sorry that she has that on her face i really am but thats life its unfairr MOVING ON have a good life

  • no offence isnt like she is attractive no offence i got psoriasis on the sides of my face and on both sides of my nose and my neck but i got medicine that treats it and it kills the redness so im lucky

  • @JoeyHD2 That's great that you have found a medicine which treats your psoriasis. What's unfortunate is that you felt the need to insult her in sharing your good fortune. Adding "no offense" in front of an insult doesn't make it any less rude or hurtful; please remember that the next time you consider insulting someone.

  • girls and women have better chances to cover their birthmarks. I am 25 year old man from Hungary and i tried so manny products, treetments but they didn't help or they looked annaturelly but its nce to see so strong people living with portwine and doing videos... they give power to the others..I feel am not lonley with my situation.

  • @tomthony Bless your heart, tomthony! Have you tried a mineral foundation (it'spowdery)?

  • @carolynkbarber Well i tried Vichy dermablend, witch is told as a great product but i have a very light skin so i used the lightest one but it looks like if im a plastic doll or a dead man :S because its very light. I also used face powders ,concealers but they didn't work well. I think my portwine is so big and red and with my light skin..its even diffcult and my mark is also on my half upper lip so if a cover the mark my lip i getting more red because of the light tone of the cover....

  • @carolynkbarber I have tried Vichy Dermablend wtch coverd the best but because i have very light skin and i had to use the lighest tone I looked like a plastic doll or a dead man.I also tried ather face powders and concealers but they didn't work well. I think the problem is that i have very light skin and my mark is big and very red and my mark also on half of my upper lip so when i covered the mark my lip was even more red because of the light tone of the cover....so it didn't come out good

  • @tomthony

The British Red Cross has this camouflage service that gives us really great makeup to cover our birthmarks. Men and women use it alike.

I think you can come to the UK and get it, being an EU member, if that is feasible. However, it may be available in Hungary, too (which I reckon is better).

  • thank you so much for sharing.

I have PWS on my cheek, got several treatments, lighten, but not cleared.

have you ever tried dermablend, smartcover to cover the birthmark?

I have ordered, hope to cover my birthmark.

  • @doreenpws Please let me know if it helps. I have not used smartcover. I use a mineral foundation, shown in the film, instead. Thanks for commenting on my video.

  • It's a mineral foundation in the Sei Bella line of cosmetics and skin care products. Email me directly if you want more details.

  • Hello. Thank you for sharing your tutorial! I don't think that I have a port wine stain but I usually want to cover it up just to look more presentable. Can I ask, what is the powder that you were using called?

  • The result after make up is very convincing! Thank you for your video. I already underwent laser treatment to removing a birthmark on my face, without success. It's not a portwine stain though, but a big becker's nevus.

  • im a guy and i have a port wine stain and when i tryed to cover mine it never turns out rite always looks unreal any ideas.

  • @ScreamoLifeSon

Hi! Thanks for visiting my YouTube video. I've been using this mineral powder and have been very satisfied. I don't know if it would be helpful to you. It is not a total coverup and therefore does NOT look pasty but rather natural. I guess all you could do is try it. If you want more info, pls give me a call. Good luck!

  • I am a teenage girl and I have a birthmark on my face. Watching you speak has been truly inspirational, so thank you!

  • @abijanewells

Hi! Thanks for your sweet comment. Your teenage years are the toughest with a pws on the face. But as you mature and your friends mature, it really doesn't matter any more. Good luck! If you want to chat, don't hesitate to call me.

  • what does "spontaneous rupturing" mean?? (like symptoms etc. bc my leg (which has the portwine stain on it has been hurting for a while..)

  • My face would suddenly start bleeding at the slightest touch. It didn't happen all the time but became more frequent. Whether I was wiping my nose or washing my face, boom! But the laser surgery seems to have taken care of that so far. Guess some vessels nearest the surface became weaker and started to bleed. It was very inconvenient, to say the least and distressing for awhile. I haven't had pain, as such, with my pws.

  • I realize how hard it must have been to go through your younger years with a port wine stain. I also have one too on my leg to my hip. My port wine stain is very darker, a dark purple. I went for laser treatments when i was younger, like a baby. BUt it hasnt changes it one bit. I'd like to go for treatments again when i get older. I just wanted to share with you my little story and that you are not alone. WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER WHAT! thank you, this was helpful

  • Thanks for sharing your story with me. The portwine stain started "spontaneous rupturing" and that prompted my getting laser surgery to stop that in a hurry! It also qualified me for insurance payout (but not much). Our "beauty" (our God-given personalities) must be developed inspite of any physical challenges. Thanks for your comment!

  • Thank you for sharing this video. I too have a port wine stain which, as I age, has started to become thicker under the skin - sort of bumpy underneath which is a nuisance.

  • I haven't noticed mine getting bumpier--yet. Have you been to a dr./plastic surgeon to get an opinion?

  • Apparently it's quite common for them to develop "small pebble-like bumps" underneath as you age. Although the birthmark is large, it's on my lower leg, so I'm not that bothered by it. You can't see that it's lumpy - only when you rub your finger over it, you can feel something that feels like smooth pebbles. I don't know why it develops that way, it just often does. :)

  • I think you have a lovely face Carolyn & MORE importantly you seem to be very sweet & helpful. Thanks for "baring all" to help others. PS a very complimentary lipstick colour too xx

  • Thank you for your sweet comment. I've been neglectful of my YouTube acct so I apologize. I look back at that video and think, "Ugh!" But it's out there now. The lip color is Mauvelous
