As much as I love this version of Holmes (and have done since it's original broadcast); the quality of both Brett's performance (due to his declining physical and mental health) and the series itself is very much lacking in later episodes - from The Last Vampyre onwards it's a real struggle to sit through IMO and a long way from the likes of The Sign of Four, The Musgrave Ritual or The Devil's Foot just a few years earlier.
@peckinpah1976 : Totally agree with you! I went to the stage performance in 1989 of SH. With Jeremy (and Edward) His energy there was much like the early tv show episodes. It was noticable when his health declined and I was so upset when he died!
