I can see a window that you create by pushing on the guys head when you go from ''New York'' to ''Chill Dog''. by releasing your knee with your left hand and pushing his head...if he had any brains, he would just pull out of your bottom control and either stand up or pass your rubber guard...
But still, good vid. nice work overall, thanks for the post :)
Let go of your knee? Lol! Never ever do that do the kung fu move to Chill Dog then just bring your other foot up and Invisible collar is already there you don't need to hold on to your foot to keep it there if you have adequate flexibility just leg curl him down if he moves in the 2 seconds your forcing him into chill dog (Unlikely) But other then that good video.
Skip the london and go straight to new york, in london your opponent can simply spin out into side control. Theres a submission101 video about why they removed london from the system.
just a small detail I want to comment on Im not a master on the rubber guard, but when you push his head off with your left hand you are giving him room to get his hand off the mat, which ruins the technique. keep his arm trapped.
A safer position would be to clear the neck as if you are going for a gogo, or a omoplata as if you were going for jiu claw position. Then if you are unable to get the position you can use invisible collar, but only after you clear the head.
I've been noodling with the rubber guard on and off (mostly off) for about 2.5 years. Seriously, unless you visit the Man himself at his Legends Gym in Hollywood, you'll miss the details. As you can see from the feedback, I'm just barely grasping this stuff myself!
Watching your video, you are actually starting in New York and transitioning to Chill Dog, not London. Also, you are letting go of your left knee to clear the neck. that may give your opponent a chance to pull his arm back in. We don't clear the neck that way in class, but it might be worth a try. i don't think letting go of that knee is ideal though.
that way you cleared the neck.. it's not going to help you in the long run.. if his head goes over to your left then it's hard to clear the neck, a smart guy will do this.
some times you can't
thats why we clear the neck the way Eddie does.
the east coast croc when is right there when you can't clear the neck . nice flexibility! keep it up bro.
That's a sweet variation I hadn't seen thanks!
