were they doing a boat rescue with a chopper? they call out a chopper to recue a dude in three ft of water these days. When are we going to have planes with solar panels for power so there is not that nasty explosion and fire after they crash....
no.4 is wrong. one of the aircraft engines caught fire on takeoff, aborting the takeoff
no.11 a cargo plane carrying a bereved woman to a funeral, overloaded with baggage fails to gain sufficent altitude/speed on takeoff and crashes just after getting airborne
the last is of a test done by NASA experimenting with a jel-airfuel that wouldn't ignite under crash conditions. the fueselage was meant to be the point of impact, but instead the engines took the hit, resulting in a fireball. unmanned.
1:22 thats sucks P-38 they are priceless.....and sorry for the pilot two......but shit dumb ass a barrel roll that low of altitude...what are you thinking
@terrytex2510 no kidding! That one just FREAKS ME OUT! I dont know what it is but it just seems like i'm there and i'm like "holy SHIIIIIIIIIII....." Freaks me out big time
I cannot believe @ 1:53 that only 1 of the 4 people were actually smart enough to go the right way. Just shows that you shouldn't be a damn follower because the leader may be going the wrong way!
@noweirdbeard we've developed some techniques to lessen the impact of the fireball but planes are carrying quite a bit of fuel on one hand, and have to be built as light as possible on the other hand. When they crash everything comes apart and that includes everything carrying the fuel.
@Kstorm88 Actually, that was real footage (although you're right, the way it plays out makes it look like CG). It was known as the Sknyliv airshow disaster and 85 people were killed when the jet skidded into the audience.
air france has the worst safety record in the civilised world, they have literally no intrest in anything other than profit and fucking airhostesses and making videos of hem in their cock pits. their engineers and pilots should be lined up against a wall.
the number 1 video was not a test you stupid. Why stupid people insist to say this. The plane was full of people: wikipedia "air france flight 296". enjoy
Was man suppose to be able to drive along the ground at 100 MPH+? Was man suppose to be able to cure the sick with advanced medicine? Man will continue to fly 'till the end of our existence.
If there's anything man was not supposed to do, it's stagnate by fear of danger. Denouncing man's ability to fly is not an observation. It's disgracefully and snobbishly devaluing man's progress you and everyone you love have directly benefitted from.
It's utopian elitism.
I'm grateful to all those who have made the human experience a better one not agreeing with your regressive attitude.
Have you seen When computers try to land planes? They completely miss the runways and crash. Thats what happen in the tests, so at least humans know how to land and take off.
I was a final checker on the flight deck when the A-7 rolled overboard and the pilot ejected. This was on USS CARL VINSON CVN-70 late 1980's.The A/C lost brakes as it was unchocked for launch the pilot lived and was rescued.I belive he was from VA-97.He was lucky this cruise claimed the life of a trouble shooter from VA-52 on the catapult that A/C crossed weeks prior to this event that i also witnessed.I am proud to have served among AMERICAS best and they will never be forgotten!
It was flown by a pilot, but with a fly-by-wire control system. The crew survived and was charged with manslaughter for the 3 deaths caused by the crash.
correct, supposedly the fly by wire didnt respond. every time i'd seen it...they said the "crew of three was killed"....never alluding to the fact there were actually passengers on the plane. i too, should have doublechecked my facts before posting on that one !
They were attempting to complete a fly-by at 100 meters. The altimeter did not read the correct altitude. Also the fly by wire system did not respond to the pilots attempt to increase the throttle. There is a lot more interesting information about this crash search for Air France 296.
well, for the first and last time...since you have the attitude, maybe you can go and report that to every site and every youtube post that flat-out stated there were people on board. since you know it all and the rest of us dont.
tried, confirmed ! first time i'd ever seen the corect details in any form of media. even last time i daw it on tv the comment they made was to the effect that it was only the crew on the plane and "all three of them died" that's where my "and yes, thay all died" comment came from. so much for 20 years of mis-information :>)
there was no one in the first plane...pilots are not idiots k...sumtime sthe planes get faulty..this was a test done by nasa to control a large airlinerwithout a pilot...so..there was no one dead..
hmm the a320 at the airshow, there was only a pilot on board, and he survived, no passengers, a probblem with comunicating autopilot with the pilot, the pilot pulled the airplane up, but the autopilot was going to land
This is only the partial truth. There was a full crew aboard the airplane with passengers. The pilot had faulty readings from his altimeter leading to a fly-by that was too low. He attempted to increase the throttle at the end of the fly-by but the fly-by-wire system did not respond. For more information search for Air France Flight 296
The pilot claimed the plane's altimeter and thrusters were faulty. 1 month before the crash, the following was discovered, but not issued to pilots:
OEB 19/1: Noted that the engines may not respond to throttle input at low altitude.
OEB 06/2: Noted that the barometric altitude indication did not always function properly.
Although the flight boxes may have supported the pilot, by the time they reached court several seconds had been deleted. The pilot was sentenced to 10 months jail.
The pilot wished to do a low pass over the runway (which he did). Due to his poor understanding of the Airbus systems, he didn't realize that (on older airbus systems) if you got below 100ft, the aircraft would assume that the pilot was attempting to land the aircraft and refuse to add power by pushing the thrst levers foreward.
Actually Messer262, all pilots who are trained to fly airplanes go through hours of forced landings practice, meaning that the instructor cuts throttle at a certain altitude and the trainee pilot is forced to find an area suitable to put down, such as a golf course or paddock. And another thing, airplanes are designed to GLIDE, helicopters cant stay up as long as a plane with an engine failure and id rather be in a plane with an engine failure rather than a helicopter.
Helicopters are the safest airship. As long as you know what you have to do you should never damage the machine. I couldn't say the same for airplanes which once the engines are down, and they don't have a runway they are toasted. Even with runway the airplane will at best be scrap while everybody survives.
Naw, A-10 is the safest airship. And besides that, all pilots know what they have to do, but they still occasionally crash. Many planes have landed fine with engine failure.
I am no expert but a airplane can glide while a helicopter looses lift dramatically as the blades slow down. It would seam to me that I would rather want to be on the one that could maintain some lift over the longest time in an engine failure.
That Airbus in the beginning was a test drone for a fully automatic flying system, nobody was onboard, even though, obviously, the automatic system didn't work that well... Remember kids, thats why you should fly on a Boeing!
That's wrong... it was a show flight of the air France chief pilot for the A320-fleet... and 3 or 4 people died... pilot failure... nothing with automatic... the rest did it without serious inju-ries...
The aircraft was performing a low fly by at an airshow. There were 100+ people on board. They were suposed to fly down the runway at 100ft. The pilot descended down to about 30 ft and did not go to go around power untill he impacted the trees at the end of the runway. At that point it was too late. Amazingly almost everony survived.
There is some disagreement about this being pilot error. If it was only pilot error why was the chain of custody broken in this case when it came to the black box? Why was the black box tape tampered with? Why was the black box substituted for the trial? (For more information read the report by Institute of Police Forensic Evidence and Criminology (IPSC) of Lausanne (Switzerland)?). I am not a conspiracy theory type but this is just strange. Do some searching on Google.
