  • That's a great tree. I plan on buying a Japanese Maple when I start my tree[:

  • great tree! you ever think about hollowing out that other stump cut, and flipping the tree around? around 1:22, it looks like it could be a possible front.

  • @DJotterfield Thanks, Yes as you suggest it's a possibility. I have issues with the feasibility of changing the angle so the apex leans to the front again. Also the hollow has been filled with some sort of cement in the past and may not be easy to remove. It is however a good option to have. Thanks for taking the time to view and comment.

  • @bonsaieejit maybe you could find some mini bonsai size jackhammer to get that cement out? for sure, a wonderful tree as it is.

  • im only 13 but when i grow up imma buy one of those :O :DDD

  • @LightProductionsTV Start now, at your age you can make one of these by the time you have grown up ;-))

  • You have some of the best progression videos. This one was shorter time span but a magnificent tree. I haven't seen too many people ramify acer palmatum such as yours, very small foliage.

  • valla que es hermoso ese bonsai,, como me gustaría hacer uno así!! mis felicitación ,, un saludo desde argentina

  • beautiful tree

  • Great song, gotta love The Soundtrack of The Last Samurai. Your tree looks great as well. Keep up the good work!

  • @brianmv13 thanks Brian

  • and also, how do u get the branches so thick

  • @DGDK23 Part 6 of the Bonsai School video series has a bit at the end were the branches are discussed on this tree. Part 1 will also help explain branch Structure.

  • did u make this bonsai from a bigger tree?

  • it was this size when I got it. A tree like this will have been developed over many years. It will have spent some time in open ground growing tall to fatten the trunk and then it get chopped back short again. This is done several times to get the taper. If you look at the larger pruning wounds at the back of the tree, this shows you where the chops took place. These are nearly healed now.

  • Beautiful tree. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks, I'll be doing a video about it getting repotted in a few weeks time.

  • cool bonsai you should make another video of it
