badass rig...but im not sure that the fact that your parents have a lot of money to throw around on a nice present for you gives you the right to waste my time watching your shitty review. Let someone else do the review of this badass machine and maybe ill watch more than 30 seconds of it.
Digital Storms are nice but they need to fix their videos, "we don't charge massive premiums", Digital Storm has anywhere from a $700 - $1500 markup than if u were to build it yourself on newegg. I really want a system but I would rather have 1 or 2 extra GTX 580s then pay for their premiums.
the way I configured mine the price difference was right around 400 dollars more than if I bought it on new egg. Granted this was during a sale, but the thing is with digital storm you get a bad ass warranty. building a pc yourself can be a nightmare if you have to start troubleshooting parts and dealing with warranties from individual manafacturers
@Joseph4Lakers no im not its just he said your going to have to get a few guys to help u and that computer weights 50 pounds?Doesnt mean im trolling just means im saying hes weak as shit if he needs help picking up a fucking computer!Shit my Digital Storm Syndicate Weights about 80 to 90 pounds and shit i pick it up with no prob.So maybe your should stop looking to argue with someone over there comment.Shit why the fuck do u care anyways.
No offense, but just because your parents are buying is no reason to splurge. You don't need both those optical drives. You don't need a sound card, much less one of the more expensive ones. You don't need that liquid cooling, especially with that CPU. You don't need that 2nd 1TB HDD, especially factory installed and with your OS already sitting on another drive.
You could have saved your parents a ton of cash on that build, or made your self room for a second video card. Ask around the forums.
@FuseAQM Interesting.... And why don't i need those things? I love good sound, and it helps when im mixing music. An i7 being overclocked to 4 ghz? yeah i need wc. The second TB of hdd space is necessary when you have hours of hd video on your computer, my first tb is already 90% full. I use the br drive for watching br videos, and the second optical drive is like 20 bucks. Sure i dont NEED any of these things, but im not "splurging" and wasting my parents money for no reason.
i7s run extremely cool, no you don't. Sandybridge is great for OC.
The 2nd TB HDD is cheap and easy yourself, about half the price DS charged to install it.
Yes, it's worth it to get a Blu-Ray from DS, but it includes DVD/CD read-write functionality. No reason for a second drive.
As for the sound-chard, mobos built-in will more than serve your need now. The inputs you need are things like Fire-Wire/USB3.0, from there you want RAM/CPU. Soundcard isn't for mixing but output.
@Homeyjojo My bad on the CPU, wasn't paying close enough attention on the video I guess.
Does your mobo really not support 6-ch sound? That's crazy. The main use of a sound-card these days is to pull load off your CPU. You're not going to notice a lot of fidelity.
I assumed you'd be upgrading/replacing this PC in 2-3 years like most of us. Was trying to offer some real-world advice for the future. DS forums will seriously help you out.
@SoCalAirs0ft Let me be honest to you. Alienware USED to be an amazing "boutique'' pc manufacturer but that changed when dell bought them in 2006. Now Alienware is horrible the only reason people buy them is because the advertisement Dell shows all over the net with "all powerful" logos and such. The truth is Alienware is a dell but in a cool case that overheats really easy. Put it this way: if you want a pc made in china not tested and not neat cable management go ahead get alienware.
@Joseph4Lakers OriginPC is the original Alienware now. It is run by the guys who left Alienware after Dell took over. If you look at Origin's lineup it really looks like the original Alienware PCs from a few years back. They also aren't too overly expensive when compared to other companies that offer the same PCs.
@SoCalAirs0ft BUT if you want a pc tested for 72 hours and very very neat cable management in a case that does not overheat go ahead and get Digital Storm and plus MADE IN USA with best packaging. I also highly recommend MAINGEAR PC which is better than Digital storm in my opinion and has better wiring etc. But both are amazing. For proof alienware sucks go on google and put reseller ratings alienware
@Joseph4Lakers Thank you for the response. I was going to get an Alienware M11x laptop, but then I came across Digital Storm. I just need a laptop, not a desktop. Also, it's for highschool/semi gaming.
Any more info about their laptops would be fantastic. I haven't seen a good video review yet.
@SoCalAirs0ft EVERYTHING he said is true. ailienware was the best, but then dell took over. now the quality of the products suck, and customer service is awful. if not going to tell you that digital storm is the best, theres a lot of good sites out there, but i highly recommend it.
@SoCalAirs0ft Just do plenty of research and look at Digital Storms laptop lineup. They are pretty impressive and blow alienware out of the water. Call digital storm they will help you and I mean thats about the most I can help you because its your choice to get anything you want but send me a message of your budget because Then I can configure a laptop for you just message me
