  • Guitar solo was way off. Sorry....

  • I saw this tour at the Santa Monica Civic and I admire that a young band like this can appreciate such good music. It gives me hope for music's future. Rock on!

  • @swaggs By the way, she has a great voice.

  • What a great job... !!!!

  • OK here's the deal....it's a tough song to play. It's a great song. Even UK wasn't able to make it sound too good live. Holdsworth is a monster as is Bruford. You guys absolutely rock and rock hard.

  • I have a very cute John Wetton of this picture.

    I support them from Japan.

  • But their vokal is suks..(

  • They are so alive. =)

  • This is awesome! Excellent job! This is a tough song to pull off.

  • Well Done!

  • If you had started out with Presto Vivace before tearing into In the Dead of Night, I'd give give you 20 out of ten.

  • Fantastic.

  • My god....fantastic.......I had never dreamt of the newest generation rendering such a fantastic classic.....big thumbs up for you guys!!!

  • Great attempt at a fantastic song. Well done - keep up the good work. 7 beats in the bar is the perfect beat - but the world seems to have got attuned too much to 4/4 and we never seem to advance much musically as a result. You girls had a great idea to do this song here and it's fantastic that you even knew about this kinda music seeing as it hasn't been cool for so many years! Love it. Love you!

  • kids with some of brain !!!

  • and we're stuck with fuckin x factor in Britain? Amazing, UK were one of my favoutite bands as a kid, and they do it justice, so impressed

  • Nice to see SOR is teaching some cool prog rock. This is the sort of stuff I learned on coming up. Great for chops. Nice job you guys, uh, an girls.

  • That's pretty cool! I'm pretty sure Neil (from Rush) selects the music to be played on tour before they come on stage, and during intermission, and this is one of the songs that you hear during their current tour. Good job!

  • You TOTALLY made my day! Cheers from Los Angeles!!!!

  • brava! you guys made my day!

  • Holy shit!!!

  • glad to see that there are people today who appreciate this brilliant music from U.K.

  • shame on you... SHAME ON YOU...

  • This is rowdy! The bass player in particular is really in the swing. Great job, kids!

  • haha, how old are these kids!!! They're tearin this tune up!!! I used to play this song all the time when I was a kid too

  • i was diggin the singer till the chorus , no dont go down!!!

  • Kudos to Woody. Holdsworth would be pleased! And you added you're own touch to it, too! Good job!

  • in 10 years obviously =D

  • if any of those girls want to marry me am single =)

  • a few young girls who were not even born when this band came with this song. I don't care how they sound. I admire the fact that they appeciate good music.

  • Kudos! While it isn't uncommon, it is rare that a group so young tackle a chart as technical as this one. As a percussionist with a fascination with the forever emotionally difficult Bill Bruford, I charted a strict arrangement of this 7/4 piece shortly after it came out. I was blessed to be associated with a band with whom I'd previously tackled "Roundabout" (& the entirety of Carnevil 9). After 200 hrs of rehearsal, we pulled it off live. I'm proud of you kids for wandering away from the norm

  • I can't believe this is actually happening: A group of American kids playing UK classics.

I'm so proud of ya'll. Thank you, guys.

  • you are amazing... i cant believe you were able or even knew of UK

  • good kidz!!!

  • The Coors after a weekend in Amsterdam.

Well done you girls. I wish you'd have lived near me in '78.

  • As best I can tell, this song is in 7/4 time (or possibly 7/8). You made my day because (a) you played a UK song, (b) you chose one in multiple meter, and (c) you shunned the simplistic, Top40, life-draining dreck that the marketers and media execs seem to think we want to hear. When this came out in '78, I was in high school and the radio played nothing but KC & the Sunshine Band and Bee Gees, so we had the same problem even then.

Very heartening -- thank you, ladies.

  • @SquatThrust But the post-chorus alternates between two bars of 4/4 and one bar of 5/8 4 times before 4 bars of 4/4 before going back to 7/8

  • Great to see young girls trying such a hella hard song! Great job and keep it up.

PS: Will one of you please marry? Lol.

  • Sounds great but the drumming is dead wrong

  • sadly true but rest is ok. ok voice... not used to this one.

  • Great job guys and gals... Something I would never expect to see, like Pazzensutra and scunnewman commented, there is hope for the future of music!!

    Very cool! *****

  • Yes!!!!! There is hope for the future of music.

  • I have faith in today's youth, awesome!!!

  • great job guys, awesome cover

  • brilliant. well done girls!!!

  • I'm amazed that (i) kids this age are aware of this music and (ii) they play it so well.

  • I am somewhat not so amazed; from personal experience younger teens HATE rap ,hip-hop and other corporate pre-packaged drek...Music like this and early 80's music is quite popular with the 12 to 18 year old crowd.

  • I'm glad. I don't want to preach 'old' values to young pple but I think that's a good thing. I was aware there's a lot of musical talent among young pple but not a lot of today's music seems to demand what my generation thought of as virtuosity.

  • Girls Kick Ass!

  • Hope for the future!!!!!! Unbelievable. Way to go, girls. Wow!!

  • incredible, fantastic, wonderful!

    keep music alive !!!

  • woah! that's great! prog girls

  • they should be proud well done kids

  • kudos to you guys for going for one hell of a tricky song, I'm sure Holdsworth, Bruford & co would be amazed!

  • UFF...PROGG-TEEN-WOW.

    NICE FUTURE

  • Woo Hoo!!!

    Girl power...

    nice rhythm section,

    spot on keys,

    a little choreography would really

lift this band up even higher!

    thank you...

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

    GREAT

maybe these girls will save our future !

  • Wow. Great job girls. Keep practicing and playing. Its so wonderful to see young folks like you picking up on the great prog rock from the 70's. Would love to see you start writing new material in this genre. Long live prog-rock!

  • this is absolutely ridiculous!i was listening to UK when I was 12 and i thought "I" was young to be listening to UK....this was 30 years ago....THESE KIDS PROG-ROCK THE PLANET!!!!!

  • playing a song by UK...very ambitious

  • These are high school aged kids? Very good for trying!

  • Well the band had a real hard time staying together, but I have a lot of respect for them, just for trying. Especially for the guitarist, just for trying to play Holdsworth's solo. Though once he started to play his own... well, he's okay, but it wasn't very interesting.. still, respect for trying.

  • I belive yhis is fuck and good ! I won't compare, because then I will lost the magic ! Don't copare young good talentive musiciens to pro prog ! come one ! Love you guys...Jee-Pee Montreal !

  • I wish I had the option of doing this when I was their ages. I'm in college now and they still have nothing based around rock let alone prog.

  • Good job. This piece looks easy to play until you try it. I think the best part was the guitar solo. But, I have yet to find a cover of this piece with the drummer playing it like Bruford, not like Bozzio (big difference). Keep up the good work kids ;)

  • The timing is harder than anything else.

  • it's cool that they like the music... they just don't play very well and that's the truth ;)

  • A classic track, and it is amazing to see these young kids tackling it.....fair play to them, this is really impressive and inspiring!!

  • che bordello!carine le tose.

  • Congrats boys & girls!!! keep on the right track

  • Finally, there's hope in the world! I saw U.K. in 1978 at the Santa Monica Civic. It's great to see kids today who can appreciate this greatness. Great job...keep it up!

  • Where did these kids hear this music? I am amazed how the old stuff comes back. When my guitar students force me to relearn the stuff I used to know how to play really well it makes me feel alive again.

  • They're named in the 'more info' section... but it doesn't say which of those ladies is playing the keys... so who is it?

  • That's Eddie Jobson, fool!!!

  • It's Eddie Jobson, fool!!!

  • Fool? Okay- here's an answer for you:

1)I meant in THIS video- not the real UK- I don't believe that Eddie's had a sex-change.

2)How about you go have that tatoo removed from your ass that says "my dad was here first" then go make a deposit at the sperm bank if you can keep your mouth closed long enough, homo.

  • I, of course, was joking. Eddie Jobson is too busy composing dog food commercials to kick out the jams with a bunch of 14 year old girls.

I'd hate to think your response was you at the top of your game. Your hostility and homophobia tell us a lot about you. Your self-loathing, your dark closeted secrets. Don't worry. I won't tell Mommy about those Tom of Finland magazines under your bed.

  • lmao

  • Good- then I won't tell anyone you're the centerfold.

  • Holy sh*t is right! By todays standards this is heaven.

  • Stupid yanky girlies bloody killed the song, this is crap

  • Hey man , at least these girls brings hopes that there still brings some hopes, the kids CAN hear other kind of music, not the crap we had for the last 15 years ...The vomiting Rap who killed everything ..encourage them instead of criticize, in few years they will playing better , don't you think ?

  • Holy sh*t!!! This is brilliant!!! Can you imagine if these gals went on "American Idol" and hit them with this?! The judges would be sh*tting bricks!! This is light years ahead of anything that would ever be attempted on that dog-and-pony show!!

There really is hope for the future!!

  • I love these girls! :P

    keep up ;-)

  • Fantastic!

My kids are ten and twelve. They have no concept of "current" and listen to everything and anything. Beatles to High school musical and all points in between. They both play whatever they can strum, hit, blow or has a keyboard. I hope they will always keep an open mind and these kids in this video........ Keep it up!

  • i like it. wish there was more girls like that

  • Give the girls some props. I've been playing over 30 years, and can barely touch Bruford's stuff.(By the way, where's the drummer?) They can only get better, and they're pretty good already. Rock on, babies.

  • Wow. A young girl tackling a Holdsworth solo and pulling it off. That is beyond cool.

  • Girls playing progressive rock music? COOOOOOOLLLLL! I would love to date one girl that likes (and much more, that plays a cover) of UK!

  • I sat and saw all the videos from that rock festival. It's amazing that all the pieces are prog rock. Sure they have flaws, but it's difficult music played by kids and I think it's fantastic! Keep on! I wish there was the same interest in that kind of music here in Greece...

  • ...'kalispera elatha' An aussie greek here. would have thought they'd have had a big following of prog rock in Greece. surprised there's not. Check out Jon Anderson with the school of rock all stars aswell. ...pretty impressive !! Cheers from down under XX

  • all it takes is a pour drummer to screw the whole thing up ... BUT

    Kudos for trying

  • Stunt

  • Who care if it is not perfect. I bought UK NIGHT AFTER NIGHT in 79. These kids were not even born yet and know this super rare Prog rock band today. Great performance. Keep it up.

  • They're gorgeous. So good to see them attempting this. Good on them !! Good to see this music still appreciated.

  • Great job girls ! My girlfriend is nineteen and adores Wyatt and King Krimson. Beauty can save the world. Brave

  • Bravo!!!! sell thos Technics 1200's and pick up a Les Paul!!!! Cheers kids!!!!!

  • Amazing!! Young kids, especially girls playing King Crimson & UK!!? This is great! I love their energy & dedication...keep it up!! It's nice to seen younger folks carry the prog rock torch & not sell out to the RnB/hip hop sound. Most people forget a lot of the early proggers had serious music training backgrounds, some even classical, like Eddie Jobson of UK.

  • what difference does it make that they are girls?

  • Don't kid yourself, Mad.

  • drums sound awful, the whole performance is just muddy and doesn't sound right.

  • Amazing, there's still hope for this world

  • Young girls playing U.K.???

This music came out long before they were even born.

    What alternate universe is this???

    FANTASTIC.

  • mindwalk kik there asses

  • These kids have excellent taste in music and are very gifted.....

  • amazing. now i'm kicking myself for missing the Rock School show last spring in Alexandria, VA (w/ Jon Anderson)

  • I am so impressed that these kids actually dig this stuff. When I saw the original it stayed with me all these years. I am so happy to see all the Prog Rock that the SOC is performing!!!!

    The Guitarist is really good.

  • Thank you!

  • Are you freaking kidding me! This stuff is so amazing, how do I get my boy signed up for this? I have been watching these videos for an hour now, my band can't get this stuff right and we have been trying since this material was actually written :)

  • Thank you! What city are you in/near?

    Steve

  • OMG...

  • Good for you! Beleive it or not, that's good thing. Keep it up Ciera!

  • hey my cousin is woody adler, if you know him, tekk him will adler says hi

  • In New Jersey I Thought We Sounded Great. Now ? Not So Much.

  • Ours too! So glad that you liked it!

  • Wow,

what an impressive choice of song.

One of my all time favorites
