  • thanks man for this great video. it helps a lot. Awesome:-)

  • And I thought I was handy....Great work!

  • Hi SportsCurry, yes you can put it on the light stand , but it is a little wobbly to do pans and tilts well, although I have done it successfully. It is due to the lightness of the materials, slightly flexible pipe, etc. I have used the stand to hold the head for static shots , like filming a model or a still shots for puppets. The head allows me to positon the camera, and can work on the light stand, but is better attached to something a little more solid. Give it a try.

  • do you think that this light stand can be used as a tripod for your fluid head?

  • Fantastic tutorial! Thanks a lot!

  • Man this is great, thank you :)

  • You love the word "flange" don't you. :)

    Nice tutorial.

  • I recon 'flange' would sound really cool in Irish English... however it is an innocent enough word where I come from. :)

  • you are good

  • Excellent! More like these please! :)

  • HI thanks for the comment on the light stand, what more would you like? How to make a tripod fluid head? what are you interested in?

  • Hi thanks for answering. You can actually make a fluid tripod head? wow, that would be interesting.

right now tho I would very much like to see how you would build a softbox light diffuser for video production with the flourescent coil type bulbs/fixture. Thanks and whatever you decide to do next Im sure will be most interesting.

  • look over in the related videos window and you can see how to make some softbox lights. I will do a tutorial on the fluid tripod head. I got the bits today.. might take some time to upload it though.

  • thanks, lookin forward to it.

  • amazing. Imagination is the best weapon the human has

  • Yes, imagination, not to mention creativity is the best weapon against high cost of commercially available materials, LOL!
