Sure enough, he pulls out one of his trademark moves. I love Marcelo, such great technique and display of how to use bjj to defeat larger opponents.

I don't think every competition in every martial art should be a preparation for a street fight, because most street fights aren't between martial artists. Competition is a way to test skills learned in a controlled enviroment against another Judoka, Jiu-Jitsu guy, w/e. Martial artists have enough maturity, patience, and confidence in their skill to be excellent peacemakers.

Also I wish that pro grappling paid more so guys like Lister and Marcelo wouldn't have to go in MMA.

Yee MMA fighters compete here to test their grappling skills. Why would fighters do this? Because Grappling is extremely important for fighting. Therefore a lot of good grapplers naturally become great fighters.
