I owned the LP Maggot Brain and along with the epic title song, this is my favorite. It's like Sly and the Family Stone, Hendrix, and a little Curtis Mayfield,...and ofcourse the Godfather, Mr. James Brown. mean riff.
Mmmmmmm So nice!!!! It took me some time but I got all the Funkadelic LPs, and all the Parliament LPs... The most I paid for one was abot 125 buck (or so)... Keep on FUNKIN'!!!!!!!!!!
Bernie and Eddie were (and are in Bernie's case) sooooooo extremely talented it's unbelievable. My dad actually managed Bernie a couple years back and I've seen him play live numerous times, been backstage with him, and even performed with him on one occasion (I'm 14 now, I was 11 then). It's horrible that neither one of them were given much credit for their musical genius.
i hate the fact that this didnt continue, who cares about George clinton, the music was what was real Eddie Hazel, Bernie Worrell, sheesh man, that other bassist i forgot,
Actually, that was BILLY "Bass" NELSON--and not Bootsy--on "Hit It And Quit It". (but, yea, that IS Gary Shider--his FIRST Funkadelic Album appearance, 1971--16 years old!!--singing backup to BERNIE WORRELL's Lead Vocals!!). In other words, with the exception of Gary's addition, this is the LAST album of the real FUNKADELIC Band: Hazel, Ross, Fullwood, Nelson, and Worrell.
Wow, I wonder who will carry on. Making reference to, when George, passes from the earth, taking the funk, to the next level. He would, have to be, a bad mutha! This man's footprints, are huuuuuuge!
I like your introduction! well done

First heard this on the Juke box at the corner of Warren and Cass at WSU in the D in 1968. I should have been in class but this was my education.

Thank the gods for George Clinton and his P-Funk empire. Eddie Hazel should be a household name like Hendrix
