Danny does for dance what Maxwell does for music. Very stylized and fluid, sexy, controlled when it needs to be and abandoned at other times. I would love to see him live or at least back on SYTYCD as an all-star. I've watched the show since season 2, and in my opinion he is by far the best male contemporary dancer the show has had for the seasons I've watched. He does for contemporary what Twitch does for hip-hop...he understands the subtleties in the music and translates it into movement.

What I actually love about Danny's dancing aren't the pyrotechnics, which are amazing, but how he knows the art of subtlety of phrasing and how to build a performance. In old clips of his pure ballet performances as a teenager he showed remarkable purity in the upper body especially -- at a time when so many guys just want to show off their jumps and pirouettes, with no regard for transitions or elegance. He dances the 'in between' steps just as articulately as the flashier ones.

He is magnificent & I miss his contributions in season 3.

Dance is about expressing feelings with your body, and this dance is about expressing love. It's almost impossible to show love in dance without some type of sexual overtones, but Danny never crosses the line.

Danny's mother is a famous dance instructor, and this piece was entirely appropriate for her.
