  • regresan para coachella 2012

  • ¡ ATTENTION ! To whom it may concern: AT THE DRIVE-IN will be breaking their 11 year silence THIS STATION IS …NOW…OPERATIONAL

  • movimg footage...

  • someone said at the drive in were the best post hardcore band to ever exist. ok, that's a fair bet, but what about fugazi? embrace? egg hunt? rites of spring? not the best, but one of the best

  • coachellla!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i can only hope that whatever they put out now, if anything, is akin to old material and not just another outlet for the constant rehashing of post-hipster bullshit that i've always felt the mars volta perfectly embodies..

  • @killthatcity ähm, hipsters? ähm... yeah, everything is going to be ok O.o

  • @killthatcity Seriously doubt ATD-I will be a main outelt for music creativity Mars Volta is still going after all...

  • They are going to be at Cochella!!!!!!!!

  • Would be good if the info at the start wasn't cut off by the bottom of the screen

  • I haven't been this happy for at least 11 years! :P

  • Today I cried just as much as when I heard they broke up.

I am so excited about what their reunion could mean. The revolution they started over a decade ago can finally see an end.

    Long Live At The Drive-In!!

  • @ATDIadherent why would you want it to end? that's the point of being disappointed in their breaking up... that it might have ended so soon... now it is again perpetuated

  • if i get to see this song performed live my bucket list will get one item shorter

  • i have waited for this day since i was 14, im now 23!

  • @Mavarik you and me both buddy, you and me both

  • At the drive in at coachella!

  • the station is now operational

  • AT THE DRIVE IN HAVE REFORMED! :D

  • well if you scare whit the information in the video, your shit your pants to know about the situation rigth know

  • damn i was 20 or so when it came out, 2000-2003 were great music years.

  • @RyoBakura016

    Nedeland komt u vandaan?

    klinkt goed.

  • @everyday0160 ありがとうございます。

  • Cracking song, criminally underrated in my opinion!

  • El Paso Is Such A Cool Place. It's A Shame It's Deteriorating Due To Drug Traffickers.

  • One of the most haunting videos ever made.

  • 歌詞が怖い!

  • @everyday0160 なぜ?

  • @RyoBakura016

    それは「死」とか「ギロチン」とか言っていますよ。(歌詞で)

  • im hairry and i had a tight shirt, i just ripped it off with my hairs!!!!

  • i love you cuz

try and give me lessons again sometime i miss you

  • 4.50 onwards, quite possibly the most heart-wrenching punk rock moment of all time

  • <3333

  • A band who got it right.

The video uses many short clips of different, penetrating images that actually come together to make a real idea.

Combined with the complimenting fluctuations of Cedric's voice?

    Yeah, this is it.

  • The video is ruined by the breathe carolina ad. Thank you breathe carolina, you fkn suck.

  • @nathangreen420 I got an ad for the Snoring Center.

  • there are 20 people who wants to kiss bieber's ass!

  • @hitechdriveby

    :DDDD

  • Is there any possibility of Enter Shikari's singer Rou being influenced by this? His "rapping" is quite similar to this.

  • @Mertule93 It's strange you say that, I was just thinking about it. Probably, I imagine alot of newer post-hardcore bands were influenced by this band.

  • Used to listen this song so much in 2002/2003 ... can´t explaing how i miss that time!

  • BLame truth

  • I would love to see some fuckwit X-factor or The Voice contestant attempt to make a political / social justice music video.

  • this took SO many google searches to find. so happy now

  • Nice, you can't read anything going on.

  • I live in el paso ._.

  • @cookienerd5 My home town!

  • @cookienerd5 right on, i useta live there..the same time the guys did too,

  • @cookienerd5 .... i live in Juarez......this is everyday shit, now also we have men and children corpses spreaded all around the city, im not proud of it but, what can we do, the only one we can trust in this city, is ourselves.....

  • @cookienerd5 I'm from El Paso and went to Coronado High School same as Cedric and Omar! I don't live there anymore though. I always miss it when I hear ATDI

  • @starscater Cedric went to El Paso High School,

  • @cookienerd5 meheecan?

  • im not sure if its the corporate america ad bullshit blocking the vid or just the way the vid was uploaded, but for anyone interested in watching this brilliant video with the entire subtext:

    metacafe com/watch/2223652/invalid_litter_dept/

    add the dot

  • Mars Volta, Sparta, At The Drive in... regardless of ba nd member changes dont lose the sound!!!! Unique, poerful and easy to listen and fallin love with!

  • fuck you haters, this is people getting murdered for the fuck of it . this is some real shit bro.

  • My thumbs down go to that stupid ad.

  • video ruined by that bloody advertisement banner

  • aaaa huh huh...hey Butthead....this song like tells a story...aaaaa huh huh...cool

  • DANCING ON THE CORPSES ASHES!

  • What's this song about ?

  • @johnly83 The Juarez Murders. Look it up on Wikipedia. Yeah, it isn't the most reliable source, but this one is a solid read.

  • Comment removed

  • @thatredsoxfan Thanks , according to the source they still left mystery .

  • This song gets to me every time, its amazing how well written it is...

  • its so sad that its 2011 and i wish it was still these times compared to what is happening now in my beloved Juarez where i was born and grew up.. Joined the US ARMY to get away aint that something

  • @chymestak5 Better times are to come :) Just gotta stop dancing w the devil (ARMY)...

  • i love this song.

  • All my life I've lived right next door to this murder capital....

  • I'll never forget the day when my friend got me into this band. This was the first song I've heard by them, my ears are in the deepest love with their music ever since that moment.

  • i remember this video coming out back in 2000 on tv. i was too young to understand it but my cousin explained to me that these things do happen in chihuahua. my family and i are all from the state of chihuahua where this stuff happens. now it's even more fucked up over there with these fucking cartels running around doing whatever they please.

  • @elfidox2 happens all along the US border ...not just El Paso/Juarez.

The Drug Cartels leave the dead bodies where they can be found.

  • i love at the drive in,,ive never seen the video till now and it gave me the chills,,its so fucking tragic that i live across the border from a city full of crime and hatred, people killing their own people..great song tho

  • Just finished 2666 last week. Had this song in my head the entire time I was reading "the part about the crimes."

  • intravenously polite, it was the walkie-talkie that knocked the pins down as her shoes gripped the dirt floor in the silhouette of dying. gotta love how atdi makes no fucking sense at all, that's half the point.

  • @jjblackme to me it makes perfect sense: it's describing a woman lying in the dirt killed (presumably after a rape) by an on-duty police-man (they always carry walkie talkies), maybe it's just my interpretation.

  • It's a sad world when this has 219k views and Bieber and J-Lo get > 219 million.

  • @gkaplan2000 who cares abouth that shit,bitch

  • @pmurrillsart Wow. You're a genuine ass hole. I really don't see how writing a song and dedicating it to hundreds of women who can't speak for themselves (y'know since they've been beaten, murdered, and raped!) is in any way, shape, or form "self-indulgent." You do realize that the subject of this song is sooo much fucking bigger than the lyrics you call yourself criticizing, right?! These are real lives he's talking about. Your comment was beyond unwarranted.

  • @youngliarr Alright mate, apologies if you're offended - this is my opinion of the song, nothing more. In my opinion, it is self-indulgent - it doesn't seem to be doing much to highlight whatever plight it's going on about, as the lyrics are such a load of twaddle I doubt anyone would be able to decipher their meaning without being told of it's meaning first. 'A stretcher made of cobblestone curfews'? It's just nonsense. In my opinion, of course.

  • @pmurrillsart so they're supposed to write lame lyrics in the mold of some shitty pop icon or some hypocrite live aid group just so every retarded teenager with limited vocabulary can understand them on the first listening, shed a tear and don't give a fuck anyway? No thank you. It's At-The-Drive-In, not Black Eyed Peas.

And by the way, if you think these lyrics are obscure, listen to some early Bob Dylan and come back later..

  • @Ridirkulous89 Cool it Kermit, I'm not suggesting they should be like all the other shitty popstars, and especially the Black Eyed fucking Peas, who I agree, are dreadful. Each to their own and all that. All I'm saying is that the song IN MY OPINION doesn't do much to highlight what its claiming to be about, and in general, I don't like the song. That's my choice.

  • @pmurrillsart But just think Cedric couldn't really write the lyrics in any other way, and I bet he knew that it wasn't going to do much for the problem anyway he put it, they just felt like they needed to sing about it, imho. Anyway, it's cool.. everyone can think whatever they want, and my opinion is that music should never be much blatantly into social and political problems.. listen to international noise conspiracy for example, BOY DO THEY SUCK!

  • @pmurrillsart and i don't love the song very much either, i'm more of a mars volta fan.

  • @pmurrillsart It's a reference to the curfew they set up for the town to try and prevent the murders. Obviously, the women who worked graveyard and night shifts at the factories couldn't make those curfews because they were working. Some could argue that this only instigated more murders because less people were out and the killers had more privacy. Research the murders. Since you are so dense, there are several movies on the subject you could watch. 3000 people were murdered in juarez last year

  • @MatronSaint 3000 murdered per year, not just from Drug Running ... but other things as well. Such as the hundreds who die of dehydration other crossing the Rio Grand in Arizona. It's a very brutal and sad situation.

  • @pmurrillsart wow... you have no clue how to analyse lyrics whatsoever.

  • @pmurrillsart

And then, the children under the bridge saw the troll

It's cock was chaffed and minuscule, moldy from lack of a woman's touch, and it went by the name pmurrillsart, it had a pretentious air and it reeked of the horse semen it guzzled regularly.

The children paid no mind, and kept enjoying the good music.

  • @mrfudgeyhead Having a difference of opinion is not 'trolling'. In fact, you're more of a troll than me, trying to insult me and get a rise when you don't even know me. Two words for you: grow up.

  • this is the fucking best music in this fucking shit world

  • well it's tragic but this is what it is on border towns make a quick buck and get fucked tread carefully

  • I love ATDI, but Mars Volta is AMAZING in their own right. Bedlam in Goliath is one of my favorite rock albums of all time. Thomas Pridgen is such a beast on the drums. Too bad they fired him...

  • i wish the mars volta would go back and cover some of the atdi songs.

  • @Inrxz

Are you stupid? What you meant to say is "I wish ATDI would get back together and do a reunion show".. I'm sure of it.

  • @oxygeninduced

    lol......

  • 13 people thought the estimate 570 women murdered was too low for them to bear so they are now out laying their dirty ass hands all over the other half of the ladies and now another 13 is added to whatever the number of them getting raped and killed by worthless jerks who cant appreciate either good music or the video concept that is chosen by one of the greatest bands in the world.

  • this sucks

  • @watermelllll Thank god I am not the only one who realizes that.

  • MTV suck's ....no music videos..just stupid show's ...

  • im from juarez and i love this song and they rock

  • 4:49 - 6:16!!! Fucking brutal.

  • it has a erie sound.. I LOVE IT!! :D

  • new (not even out yet) thursday album no devolucion is up on my channel

  • @lilmodigity yeah because Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López is currently in Mars Volta.

  • I hate it how only recently the situation in jaurez is just now getting publicity

  • This isn't a music video - this is art. This is the type of thing that SHOULD win video of the year at the VMAs.

  • @jtbalwayson

    The would never happen.

Most people don't seem to care about this kind of stuff.

Only songs about sex, drugs & money make it into the VMA's

  • @jtbalwayson

The VMAs doesn't even deserve this, that's mostly a beauty contest anyway. But this video does deserve some honorable recgonition

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • It seems that things have only gotten worse in Mexico...sad :(

  • of coarse love like I love my self, at the drive in/mars volta are the best thing to happen to music in my opinion

Now how do I down load entire ablums from them and incubus?can someone let me know please Oh and for free if possible!!

  • @seanorville Download Vuze or another bit torrent program, then visit website like isohunt or pirate bay and search for the albums you're after and download them for there and it should begin downloading in Vuze if not when it asks you to save filfe or open with select open with and then select vuze from the program list

  • of coarse love like I love my self, at the drive in/mars volta are the best thing to happen to music in my opinion

  • cd juarez was a fucking horror-gore movie in 2001, now is 100 times worst

  • El Paso Texas :D

  • @elgrandesnipe right on brotha reppin that 915 much luv

  • First heard this when I was in senior year high school, still chilling up to this day.

  • Both the US and Mexico governments should be ashamed of themselves for allowing these crimes to happen and not be investigated. American greed and Mexican impunity, ridiculous

  • i miss sundays in juarez:(

  • this is bad. Mars Volta all the way. gtfo skylit drive.

  • @InsideOutHippo you make all of us want to puke.

  • @WeAreGroundedAgain thats not nice.

  • Fuck breathe carolina.

  • @kwanzalimited: Mexico has so many resources the US want, for example oil.

  • now i know where Mewithoutyou got their sound

  • best band ever !

  • Why the fuck does it think it's a spark the rescue song?

  • Great song! Check out THE MARK - ANTIBODIES

  • This Specific guitar riff IS a mars volta song...not sure which but...you;ve heard it before too i'm sure. ...I'm noting how much the choruses remind me of Janes Addiction (the singing slightly sharp on purpose thing)....they lost that along the way...and I'm sad they did.

  • This Specific guitar riff IS a mars volta song...not sure which but...you;ve heard it before too i'm sure.

  • Such a beautiful song!

  • Susana Chavez, a campigner for those 300 murdered near Ciudad Juarez was found murdered herself.

She had been calling for a police investigation into the killings since 1994.

    NOT ONE MORE DEATH?

    R.I.P

  • This could possibly be the saddest story ever...

  • this is one of my favorite songs ever but u can ask anyone at my school who ATDI is and everyone except one of my friends (and me) doesnt know who they r

  • is this the same topic as the Jlo's movie? i think it is

  • Six years ago I was on the train in Chicago and some deranged man kept on singing DANCING ON THE CORPSES ASHES, WISHING WELL, WISHING WELL, WISHING WELL while hanging from a pole on the train. Not to be out done another crazy started belting out LET'S GO CHICAGO CUBS! - Tonight I decided to google the song that first man was singing, and I was not disappointed.

  • @cdrosa Why'd it take you six years to look it up?

  • Hey, there's an upside to the video being named incorrectly, and that's that some kids searching for some generic shit get schooled by the genius of ATDI!

  • How could anyone confuse this song with some generic band?

  • I love how this is how Fearless treats their best band ever, titled them under a shitty ass band. Who am I kidding, Fearless has 90% shit, only ATDI and Portugal. The Man were the only good bands they had.

  • the title is wrong this band is at the drive-in :S

  • why does this show up when i search At The Drive-In?

  • @Crush40pwns because this is ATDI! this song is Invalid Litter Dept.

  • Change the video title you retarded cock sucker.

  • Why does this say Sparks The Rescue? Is Fearless having a senior moment.

  • OMFG...Sparks the rescue uh? Idiots...

  • Why does this say, sparks the rescue - we love like vampires?

  • I really sad that they broke up but they did make good sub bands from it, Mars Volta and Sparta =)

  • @sleviny21 The Mars Volta personally gets me harder than a diamond in an ice storm.

  • be quality At The Drive In - Invalid Litter Dept.

  • this is atdi, why is it under sparks the resue? lmao

  • Thumbs up if you think ATDI is better then Mars Volta!
