  • what kind of amp is that in the background... never mind - it's a kenmore

  • @piddlefish Not sure of the brand, but it always seems to run really hot. It really cooks on my cover version of "Home on the range" too.

  • @piddlefish NEW subscriber - can't wait to see your version!

  • Very cool turnarounds. I'll be adding some of these to my arsenal! Thanks for sharing.

  • you make them a lot more complex than they are, simple licks

  • do you have tabs for this dude?

  • wow, well, i got a lot to learn

  • I desperately want to start playing slide guitar but figure I better get better at normal tuning etc. first. But at what level should I be before I start trying slide?

  • its never too early to start experimenting with slide go for it

  • Nah, go straight to slide. it's never too early. open tunings are a totally different game, and they're a lot easier to work with from personal experience. Go for it.

  • Cheers for the help mate, From a fellow aussie in the uk

  • Thanks for this!!!

  • are you using a dobro?

  • Actually it's a cheap Dobro copy

  • anyway he sounds good and you have a great style..

    Love the slide blues!

    good rockin man!

  • The player counts the most. Not the guitar :)

  • Guitars don't quite make the guitarrist and this video proves it.

    Well done =)

  • Thanks man!

  • it's very nice... good!!!!

  • Nice playing. Cant help but laugh that your playing in front of your Range.

  • home, home on the range.....

  • @neonbladedotcom

    He is cookin'

  • Very helpful. What guitar are you playing? and strings. I like the sound

  • Thanks, it's a cheap Dobro copy (Legend). D'addario medium-gauge strings

  • quit helpful besides the fact that you missed the slow part ;)

  • Great! Thanks for this, will help me when learning this tuning.

  • Whats the thing on your pinky.

  • Its called a super-glass-o-tube-a-rama. It's great for smacking the guitar with..

    It's a Slide. ;)

  • Was tryin' to get the worm out of a bottle of Mezcal one night back in the '70s, bottle broke and the damn thing's been stuck on my finger ever since.

  • lol !! . . it worked out fine !

  • Your new to slide, congrats! Take a listen to John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Eric Sandrinas their to me my favorite slide guitarists.

  • I like the turn-arounds, nicely played, but they don't comprise much slide, just seems like regular turnarounds with a slide note at the end. :(

  • thanks for this

  • this is great.... 5 star..not enough open g tuition is shown on the u but i agree with choupek a little slower and front on camera shots would help me become a much better player... thanks for sharing with us all.....good man

  • Thanks!

If this helps, the core of the 3 turnarounds I'm playing in this clip use the following chord shapes starting at the 3rd fret, then playing at the 2nd and first fret:

    Turnaround 1:

index finger across 1st and 2nd strings

Turnaround 2:index finger on 4th string second finger on 2nd string, third finger on the 3rd string at the 4th fret( like a D chord shape in standard tuning).Turnaround 3:Index finger 6th string, second finger on the 4th string.

  • that's cool

    can you do it slower?

  • Sorry I've taken so long to reply, my r4eply to the feedback above might be of help
