Well it must be remembered this person is a student trying to catch the method.
As for carpel tunnel, yeah... it will get you. I have it from not using reins on my tongs and using a 4lb. hammer a lot. The problem with the weld is 1. it isn't kept at heat. 2. since it is chain it is a flat first strike because it is a lap weld..directly to the center and one to either side - brush reheat to sweat heat, and repeat - rebrush, reheat and clean up the weld.
@RingLord3 ,,, Yes I guess it works but he'll have problems with Corpel tunnel syndrome... Or at least thats what I've been told about holding your thumb on top.. But alot of smiths do it that way...Have a good one..

You get it after a few hundred tries.
