  • OMG MY DREAM IS TO BE A DENTIST!

  • Infact, the chance is really big that Elmore James played that guitar!

  • That's almost 100 years of history you are holding there!

  • Ewe wee! That was sweet man. Sho' nuff. Down right dirty. Great rendition. I'm sure you made Mr. Elmore James proud and to make that there ol' geetar sing so loud and soulful. Love it man. \m/ Rock on. Them blues is deep and my left foot is stuck in it. YEAH!!!!

  • @TheDarkstar022801 - Hi there ! Many thanks for that great compliment !

Unfortunately, I sold that guitar soon after I did this video. I needed an on-line video to demonstrate how good the guitar was, for selling purposes. All the best.

  • Very nice playing on this song, I need to learn this. I just loaded a video of me playing my old 1929 Dobro which weighs a ton, but I still like it!! Good licks here and a pleasure meeting you.

  • wow great version?would you recommend me a song to start playing with open keys and slide ?

    thanks !

  • what tuning is this in?

  • @XB0XFR34K - it's tuned to Open D - from 6th string to 1st - D A D F# A D

  • nice one

  • Killer version. Nice job.

  • Great job! I too have a 33 Duolian! I have a LOT of work to do to sound as good as you, though! Nice job!

  • I play that song in open E on my resoglass Valco Dual Tone. With the Duolian I tune down to open D. Sometimes I use a capo but usually I play it in D. All those old Robert Johnson songs are in open A and E. Have you seen National Reso's new 14 fret silver Dueco Duolian. Looks just like the original right down to wood stamped National.. Artisan insturments in Nashville, want;s $3,200 for one. I am going to call Don and see if I can get one at dealership costs.

  • Man that is a great duolian. The rolled F hole models are the loudest. You should play that song in open E. EAEG#BE

  • @BoyCary - Well, I can't sing that song in such a high key as E.

Also, I don't like the guitar tuned up so high as that anyway.

  • Man that is a great duolian. The rolled F hole models are the loudest.

  • Very good.

Loads of feel in you're playing.

Your how to play dust my broom posting is also great and has given me some helpful tips. Many thanks.

  • @charlieisamonster - You are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed my very low-tech/non-rehearsed videos !!

  • That was EXCELLENT!!!!!! Thanks!

  • You certainly deserve that banjo come national guitar, your gifted well above average, and your singing is the most highest I have heard for some time, sounds a bit S.R.V. with that presence of greatness.

  • good singing

  • Wow!! I was all into it, and then you started singing. Man that threw me for a loop. You got it all, hope your playing somewhere besides youtube.

  • sweet sound, man! Can I download your music somewhere on the net?

    congrats!

  • Great voice

  • i dont have a clue on earth why anybody would not like this version. i think its better than elmore james and i don't care what kind of criticism i endure. btw you're piano playing is tops too man.

  • That was real nice. Been looking for GOOD version for half an hour and everybody sucks. This one got the real Elmore-ish "brush" licks and some real good singin' too! Instant add-to-favorites moment.

  • That was incredible

  • That was awesome!!! Thanks for posting!

  • I love music of days ago and you did a great cover great coice also, these are the good old days where you had to sell records with talent and not showing off your ass like kathy perry or bionce or madonna!

  • yeah, baby!

    you got it goin' on.

  • Open D? Nice work here by the way. Wish I could pick around on that national for a bit...

  • Wicked...!

    So cool.

Please tell me about the picks you are using on your right hand. Type, brand and size etc.

  • @ElvisStillRules - Hi there ! Sorry for the wait for the reply.

I use standard Jim Dunlop tortoise (plastic !) picks and thumb pick.

I use the Large thumbpick and I think Medium fingerpicks - just on my index and middle fingers.

I have small hands and small (not chubby) fingers and thumb. The Large thumbpick is bice and snug on my thumb so must be awfully tight on bigger-thumbed people I'd expect.

The Dunlops are about the easiest to find in guitar shops of all brands.

    I hope that helps !

  • I can't believe some people actually click the dislike button, can only be jealousy because that performance was effin brilliant!! :-)

  • @gav25x Aw, thanks !!

  • You'll have to forgive me for not thinking that was going to be as amazing as it was. Even your vocals are great. You've got a new subscriber.

  • @jlzecchin69- Oh shucks !

  • Fantasitc. You nail this. Thanks for posting.

  • @rwcritter Many thanks for that. It's best played in a band situation but I'd love to be the one to be playing he piano - just can't do both at the same time !!

  • Awesome!! You kick ass on this!!! I love it...Great vocals and great playing. You absolutely OWN this tune. There needs to be more of this on YouTube... Thanks for sharing.

  • @geetar28 Many, many thanks for that wonderful compliment !

Perhaps I should have showed off the guitar at the end of the video instead of at the start - so you don't have to keep watching me showing off the guitar every time you want to see me paly it ! It's just that particular version of that model is quite rare and I needed to show it as best I could, as I was selling the guitar. I don't own it any more. That's a well travelled guitar !!!

  • My favorite version. I've been watching this over and over for a year. Great voice, Great picking Thanks

  • @HammerMcBean

Many thanks for that ! I've been working on his style since I was a teenager - so thats like 22 years now !!!

  • Nice axe!

  • Hell yeah ;-)

  • 12 fret rolled f-holes... Bootiful. Yet another green one! Sounds luverly.

  • i love it !!!!!!

  • i like this . hello my friend dearmond fan
