i like all of ur comments but u dont see all that we do, u just see him hang one sheet by himself u dont see after that so ya, but its fun reading all ur prediction on everything keep them coming i like them
If I ever have any sheet rock done in my house it will be screws all the way. At my parents you can see all the nails now and some came through the spackle and tape.
All nails, no glue, no screws.....I LOVE guys that do this kind of quality. It's paid for my great, great grandchilden's college education fund. What year was this filmed? 1960? Call me in 2 years and we'll rip down what hasn't FALLEN down and we'll start again.
@Phil145021 you posted the exact same comment on my video as well...actually, you posted it twice. is that all you do? ...troll around for videos of sheetrock work to criticize? Maybe you could do us all a favor and put up some of your own to show us how it's done.
@Phil145021 whats wrong with nails? if you dont bash them through the paper they are fine. why the hell would you glue the ceiling? if im standing there waiting for you to dick around glueing everything that would take longer. time is money in this game buddy. screws work just fine. speaking of screws, the video never showed them screw the sheet off probably because they didnt do it yet. they obviously know what they are doing. who the hell would not screw off the lids?lets see some of your work
@juke4310 You nail the ceiling with no glue huh? That's why you guys still make $5 an hour. My Company charges $2.50 a square foot and we run SEVEN days a week we're so burried. You do HACK work, you make hack wages and no one calls you back, it's that simple. You no doubt work for builders and contractors. Unless they pay us 100% UPFRONT, IN FULL, we won't touch them. I am an occasional guest host on a home repair show discussing drywall that is heard in THIRTY EIGHT states. Your Credentials?
@phil14502 Im sorry there buddy I have only been hanging rock for 10 years so I dont claim to know EVERYTHING.As for not glueing the ceiling, no we dont.We nail or screw the perimeter and then screw the center of the sheet.Alot quicker than messing around with glue and then screwing it.You do screw off the sheet right?Seven days a week huh?your full of shit!So youre telling me you work everyday of the year?So whats the name of the show?I want to see how long it takes you to hang 1 room.
Nice job bro, everybody can hang full 12's by themselves if they just try. You're kick ass at nailing too! And to everyone who is telling him how to hang, different strokes for different folks!
this is impressive. nice hammering.. but no uses nails any more they pop out later. get yourself a drywall gun itll be way faster and better... and next time put glue on it for better results
whata ya do on the next sheet out in the middle of the room? here in MN almost all the lids we hang are 5/8 unless its high strength 1/2 sag board. most people i work for dont want any nails in the lid either. all screws. i can hang anything up to 100" over head without too much trouble but its usually more productive to get some one to lend a hand.
@karmainds thats very interasting because i live in the US and i always thought that US was the only country who uses drywall. cause i been to puerto rico and mexico and they dont use drywall. well mexico uses drywall but not that much. Whats the lenghts of drywall u australians use?
@cantmesswithgermany hey there over here we use alot of different sheet sizes, from the small end there is 1200mm x 2400mm x 6mm right up to 1300mm x 6000mm x 6mm some of the speciality plaster comes as thick as 25mm or about in inch in your scale
@karmainds i have no clue what size's those are. all we use here is FT and IN. wow an inch thick. we rarely use inch thick drywall in the US but their not that big theyre bout 6ft by 24in. but they are still heavy. we only use em for heated places.
besides pulling out the insulation and scratching the drywall all up on the metal benches you did ok for a hack ?I guess. btw - the sheet looks like it was cut down to about 10 feet - I see you don't show the whole sheet on the ceiling so the joists can be counted. not that hanging a 12 footer that way is impossible - I just don't think you did it in this case!
your a fuckin scab! no real hanger is gonna put glue on the ceiling inless your makin 50 bucks an hour and it still makes no difference, its getting screws in the field anyway. and guess what, screws pop too dipshit!
Its really a matter of opinion then. Your nailing schedule sounds fine, I just would never hang drywall without glue. The fasteners themselves aren't doing anything after the glue dries. The glue is very strong and alone, without any fasteners is enough to hold that drywall up forever.

No piece of sheetrock is ever worth your body.
Rethink your madness.

@12290jtd 1/2 inch for 16 inch layout and 5/8 for 24 inch layout, they glued and screwed and a crew of highly skilled finishers probably followed.
