1:51 ........." heeeyyy , said my name is called Disturbance , I'll shout and scream , I'll kill the king , I'll rail at all his servants"....... Hmmmmmmm ?
My brother knows this guy Joe, who's 17, but he loves the Stones, among other bands. He was having a conversation and he brought up Mick Jagger and there was this kid a little younger than he was there.
"The Fantastic Mr. Fox" brought me here. Not really. "The Fantastic Mr. Fox just embedded this song in my mind's hall of records. Was this song in "V for Vendetta?" I love that movie but I don't remember that song in said movie. The Rolling Stone Discover Themselves, MotherFuckers.
I never said the Stones had balls, or the Beatles or Bob Dylan for that matter or other poetical figures of the time, these people best express what's going on in the world, the mood......I'm talking about the Man in the street, the masses, they got together to take on the establishment in their thousands often, it's been a long time but people are beginning to wake up again and demonstrate en masse, let's hope the people in power take note and listen.
It's hard to pick the best 60s band because I feel like I'm a Beatles girl at heart, but I like some Rolling Stones songs a lot also and I would never switch over the radio while they were on, but then you have The Animals and The Kinks blowing shit out of the water too! So what can you do?
And I will never forget Love, The Association, or The Grass Roots!
I couldn't even imagine anyone really believing that there's "not much to the song," since the song is in fact filled with a very strong message. Kind of like the New Hampshire state motto (you know what is says - don't have to write it) - basically, for pete's sake, get out there and question the crazy sh*t that's going on - get into the fight & live life to most.
The tunes the Rolling Stones made are still so F*ck*n brillant. AS much as I love the Stone Roses and compare the Stone Roses to the Rolling Stones, The Rolling Stones are Still The Rolling Stones. Except for the Beatles No one has been better.
@ShadowCrashed81 If you mean the Beatles over the Rolling Stones, my statement was based on the amount of material released and the success of said material.
It's hard to pick a favorite Rolling Stones song, but this one is right up there. It came out in the latter part of the turbulent 60's and captured the emotion of the youth of the day. Peace.
Guys ... remember that the songs on the original pressings of Beggars Banquet were not properly mastered, being heard at a slightly slower speed than was intended, changing not only the tempo but also the song's key. I think this applied not only to the original 1968 vinyl release but also the 1986 CD release. But I don't know if the versions of "Sympathy" and "Street" on the "Hot Rocks" LP were the same slow versions as on BB.
Great song, obviously. Great pictures but too they're not on the screen long enough for a good look at them making me want to pause the video all the time meaning that the song would get ruined. You also repeated a lot which means that you could've left them on-screen for longer. You don't see clips like this on telly for a good reason. You could use half of the pix for another song and save yourself some trouble! Good effort, anyway. =)
THANKS FOR THE POSTING OF THIS CLASSIC 60s ANTHEM AND DANCE SONG - THE MONO 45 KICKS IT OVER THE DIGITIZED, REMASTERED VERSION, BUT NO MATTER THE SONG IS THE SONG. SOMEONE SHOULD POST THE PICTURE JACKET OF THE U.S. ISSUED SINGLE. DAVEDJ
i just heard keith richards doing an interview on NPR (national public radio). apparently on this song, as well as (i cant get no) satisfaction and jumpin jack flash, he is playing an acoustic guitar that he is distorting through a tape recorder to get the feel and sound of an acoustic, along with the energy of electricity/distortion. i thought it was pretty cool, and i had never heard it, so i thought i would share it with all of you. by the way, this is a great song, and cool video
All I can say is that I was fortunate to have been able to see the Rolling Stones twice in my life time. Once at the Pontiac Silverdome and at Spartan Stadium with Lenny Kravitz warming them up.

@phillintheuk1 the stones had more wings than balls----they flew to france to live, to avoid 1970s socialist england's high taxes.
the beatles also complained about socialist high taxes, with their song, TAXMAN.

thelupoistheman1 8 months ago 63
@thelupoistheman1 I was wondering if people were returning to this song from its being played in the closing credits to the movie.
The Wachowskis really did pay homage to the comic in the movie, and this music fit its theme nicely.
For those less violent about it--Occupy. It really does impress if those doing so have the same point. Pennies for the Guy, and all that.
