  • quality which will always be missed

  • This band have it all, truely great band

  • Good for this man to have his degree in chemistry. When shit hits the fan who knows...but, these guys are like Nobel prize capacity compared to the bottom of the barrel trash like"Sex Pistols" et al...

  • Yess, The gospel according to the Men in Black, call 'em punk or not I don't care they are still and always will be cool!

  • i hate people that think the clash are the only punk band that paved the way.. i think the stranglers were THE REAL punks and they were way ahead of their time. unlike everyone else. theyve lasted longer than any punk uk bands as well

  • 1 Stranglers

    2 Damned

    3 Pistols

    4Clash

    5 Siouxsie

  • @LabiaLicker1

    I agree. :-)

  • ...@Rattus67....u fae Glescga at aw???

  • awesome music + naked girls on stage = fuck yeah!

  • I always felt they followed their own fiddle unlike most other British UK bands

  • @nblumer ...yeah F'''kin love em...sooo underrated!x

  • Saw them in March of this Year at a packed house in Newcastle. Probably one of the best gigs i've seen by them. Been a big fan of them since 1978

  • the best punk band ever

  • God when i saw what they were like in the 80's i wanted to stab somebody at how shit they were

  • The most under-rated band ever!

  • @RattusNorvegicus77 all other bands of this time were overrated,,,stranglers out there on their own,,,no one can touch them.mib forever

  • I fell so angry The Stranglers never get the credit they should get.

  • "do i care a fuck"......gotta love JJ

  • Jet Black is a sexy bear - he is really the equivalent of beatles´ ringo

  • @MoveOverCasanova Yay someone else who thinks that. If I was old enough in the 70's I would have loved to have been a groupie at one of their concerts ;)

  • help! a havent seen the MIB since..oh since the late 80s, seen them loads edinburgh glasgow newcastle, got most of there stuff all up the loft. when hugh went that was me no intrested. now they are playing edinburgh in august and am getting badgered to go, they had a hugh following in edinburgh back in the day..,should a stay or should a go?

  • The Stranglers were there from the start and it's ridiculous how some journalists try to spin the lie regarding the accusation of bandwaggoning. Tony Wilson and John Savage hated them (cos they saw the Pistols as starting Punk in Manchester but the stranglers were playin all over the country in 1976 and they were scary gigs indeed.)

  • JJB is a black belt, so he could take all of the Clash...at once lol

  • i meant music wises dumbass, there one of the best bands ever and can so outclass this band like u woudnt believe.

  • Yuu didn't mention music once, so how else can anyone interpret that - By reading your mind? btw unlike you, I was around in 1977

  • yeah right probs a groupie wernt u lol simo actually had a fight with one of your so called band in 76 rotton and strummer had to brek it up though it was the pistols and the clash vs the stranglers music wise we know who would win that eh LOL.

  • Of all the Stranglers interviews I've seen, this is probably my favorite.

  • Grew up on these blokes, my brother turned me on to all these bands...was kinda outcast at school actually whilst everyone else was right into the likes of ABBA and assorted Disco ...I was more interested in cranky rock. I turned my mates onto them and they loved it too. I always considered these guys as 'sophistcated' compared to say The Sex Pistols or Sham69 but still...it had well cranky undertones. Thanks for whacking this up on you tube, much appreciated !

  • One of the finest bands ever to come out of the UK.

  • It irks me a bit that Hugh sometimes tries to twist the view that The Stranglers were not really Punk but more like the Police or Blondie and not hard edged like the Pistols, is he avin a larf - I was there mate in 76/77 and the Stranglers were F@#*in Scary with major attitude for gods sake, Hugh used to spit at the audience can't see the Police being that menacing.

  • thanks.Steve.

  • to me one of the great bands of the 70s and 80s. MY 2 BIG BROS made sure of that. but i have met them all. and they are all great but slightly STRANGED. TALKIN ABOUT.

  • @RattusNorvegicus67 I envy you

  • @bellanita thx for ure comment bellanita :) even my youngest boy has had a photo with them... hehe but 2 me big baz warne was born a strangler an absoulote gent... but the big lad sure sounds as if he has been like us practising 4 years... he is the dogs bollocks.. he has got me over hugh n thts been a long time coming... very menacing...suits u sir :)

  • thank you for posting this.

  • King toast!

  • lol toast...

  • One of the very best bands that have ever existed. I saw them twice in the 1970's... Brilliant 5*
