I use to be a Costco sample person. I use to have an inside joke it was a soup kitchen.

Here is what I use to say....

A sample is a piece of product, some customers thought it was a naroctic, when we say NO more, we know you are poor!"

These people are like vultures. My god if they aren't ready there will be hell to pay! If I kindly tell them it will be about 5 mins omg they throw their hands in their air and act like I just insulted them. People assume this food can be popped in an oven and pulled out immediately! When we are cooking/handling raw foods it takes a good 15-20 mins to get the food hot enough in the middle. And god knows everyone would be pissed if they were eating raw fish/chicken. Grow up people.

I wanted to rudely state your in a grocery warehouse buy something and take it home and make it or go up to the food court. Not all members are this annoying. . . these people that never buy have to understand that we have sales goals that we have to meet. The less and less people buy and the more they eat results in the vendors no longer calling and requesting for us to do demos. So if people don't buy there will be fewer demos. Just something to think about while everyone takes it for granted.

LOL I work for CDS in Pennsylvania and you can have as many samples as you want. People get annoying when they constantly say I'm here for lunch. Your not the first to say it. I hear about 50 people say it on a daily basis and it's no longer funny. I had some member bitch me out about leaving the floor even though it was time for me to go clean up and then go home. He said where are all of you going? I said it's time for us to go cleanup, he said now what the hell are we supposed to eat

I work at Costco doing samples and can I just say...... Ppl who r willing to wait like 10 minutes for a tiny piece of food have a problem. I never ever eat samples cuz I know how annoying it is. Go pay for a lunch goooosh they sell rly cheap food in the food court

The most informative part of this video is to remember to thank the sample people for the samples... trust me, it always makes me more willing to put out more samples for people, on the job, when people are thankful for them. ;)

And yes, I work as a sample lady at my local Costco.

You wouldn't believe the inside jokes that fly among my coworkers when civilians act like this in our Costco--absolutely priceless.

Yes you CAN take two samples, in fact, it's the minimum if you can be discrete about it!

A more polite alternative would be to compliment the "chef" on the first sample and simultaneously grab another as you ask for it. They can't say no!

I was a supervisor for WDS (the sample company) and here is my modification on the "taking more than one sample rule". If there is a ton of samples available, what the heck, grab a few.(IE gigantic jar of jelly beans or nuts...plenty available) However, if its an item that obviouisly took some time to cook, and only yielded like 5 little samples....dont be a jerk! Only take one!Common sense...

I work at costco doing samples. but we are hired by a company called Wearhouse demo services (WDS) we work for the vendors so theres no shame in getting 2 help your self and talking to us is also a plus! i am 19, and its a really boring job! its way easy and a part time job usually the older people are rude but most are nice like me! haha!
