  • iphone must suck because it is made in china... uhm?

  • @akinkhoo

I think they are assembled in China, but not made in China.

Most of the integral parts are made by other companies from other countries.

For example iPhone's CPU is the product of a deal made between Apple and Samsung(S.Korean) and used in both iphone4 and Galaxy s.

LCD panels are supplied by LG (S.Korean)

Other integral parts are supplied by 'Japanese and Taiwanese' small companies with high tech capabilities.

Subcontract companies in PRC just assemble :)

  • @titaniumnutz2436 dude you are replying to something written a year ago, back then all the chip were made in taiwan which is technically still china, samsung only made the memory chip then.

  • @akinkhoo I know but you still replied :) youtube has a good alert system now. Yes, I know what you mean, but even a year ago(iPhone 3G) LCD panels were supplied by Samsung&LG, battery related parts from Japan/Germany and such Taiwan played very small role... Here is the figure ($value out of $178.96 per unit sold) 34% went to Japan 17% to Germany 13% to S.Korea 6% to USA 3.6% to PRC 26.4% to combination of over 10 nations including Taiwan Taiwan contributed less than PRC.
  • @titaniumnutz2436 doesn't change the fact that iphone user are using a product that is made in china. ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • @akinkhoo

    No... assembled in PRC :)

This is actually a serious matter.

The problem is that according to the traditional GDP calculation, 'entire $178.96 per iPhone sold' is counted towards PRC's annual GDP not the ACTUAL 3.6% of it.

This creates serious OVERSTATEMENT in PRC's GDP which creates dangerous economic bubbles.

On top of that, iPhone isn't the only products to fall through this crack of an illusion.

I hope you understand the implicated dangers of such a bubble for PRC...

  • @titaniumnutz2436 it doesn't overstate the GDP since any import is subtracted from the calculation, it seem you have a mistaken understanding of the calculation, furthermore, US use the same method for calculation as well, if China is overstatement, US would doubly be so. iphone is still made in china regardless of the percentage. ;-)

  • @akinkhoo

I think you have mistaken my intention.

I am not having a go at China mate.

If you really care for PRC you should look into economic bubbles in PRC.

Firstly iPhone parts made in other countries are not regarded as imports because they are not paid by Chinese companies who assemble them.

Secondly yes US uses the same method but it usually works in reverse for US it exaggerates trade deficit.

    Lastly, PRC's contribution to iPhone - 3.6% in production / 0% in R&D

    Let's get real.

  • @titaniumnutz2436 i think you mistaken my intention, I am not talking about China, I am talking about the fact that iphone is made in china. you are the one who really need to get real, no one here is ever claiming iphone is 100% made in china. you cannot dispute it is not made in china, and you cannot dispute the stupidity of suggesting a produce is good or bad based to which is the purpose of that statement.

don't be a block of wood dude. do you also argue how jon steward mispresent fox news

  • @akinkhoo

Well... do you some how feel proud when saying iPhone is made in China?

Do you hope that some uneducated people mistake China for a fully developed nation with innovative products and technologies?

    Then fine.

But the fact is China is just a factory for making products which are toxic when produced.

All the CLEAN and LUCRATIVE part of iPhone production happens in other nations.

Only the dirty & cheap part of production happens in China.

Watch - China's dirty secret on youtube.

  • @titaniumnutz2436 dude, why would I feel proud? I AM NOT FROM CHINA! I am basically making a joke out of faulty reasoning and if you are so square to not understand the context the statement was made. go fuck yourself. it is not about China, it is a response to an idiot remark that anything made in china means it made suck, and therefore extending the studity of that logic, the iphone suck because it is made in china. it doesn't matter who PROFITED, that was NEVER the argument.

    you are stupid.

  • @akinkhoo

Of course! now it's a fucking joke :)

What about the whole 'it doesn't overestimate GDP and trade surplus' bullshit you spewed out???

You did sound serious then :)

    Dumb, but serious :)

Only because you are too illogical and unreasonable to understand the most basics of a debate.

Change the story when your ass is kicked :)

    How pathetic.

BTW Singapore is kind of owned & run by Chinese immigrants so I think you are Chinese descendent and secretly loyal to China

  • @titaniumnutz2436 it WAS a fucking joke. now YOU are just the fucking joke.

You are so stupid to not even be able to tell that it was a joke and I was not debating. READ THE ORIGINAL COMMENT.

so what if my race is chinese, are you a racist? are you one of those idiot who claim obama is a kenyan muslim? fuck off racist.

  • @akinkhoo

Now you are just exploding with contradictions :)

I make arguments with supporting facts like example of YOUR OWN comments to PROVE how you were NOT ENTIRELY JOKING, then you just ignore it and use ghetto language :)

I can tell a joke, you weren't joking, you were saying imbecilic bullshit.

Then you try to put words in my mouth and accuse of being a racist :)

Where is the proof that I think ill of Chinese or Blacks?

How uneducated and childish are you?

    Are you really 28? :)

  • @titaniumnutz2436 [ BTW Singapore is kind of owned & run by Chinese immigrants so I think you are Chinese descendent and secretly loyal to China ]

you are making a judgement based on race right there. how is this accusation any different from singled out people just because they are muslim, they must be pro-palatine? this is a racist comment. you made a judge based purely on race.

now you make a straw man argument saying because you were making an argument so I must not be jokiing. childish.

  • Comment removed

  • @akinkhoo

What kind of half baked political correctness is this?

By your logic saying "you look and sound Chinese" is a racist remark :)

My point was that I think you are lying about not being a Chinese to just win the argument :)

And what about your idiotic remark about assuming I am a redneck who is against Obama?

you are the one who brought up completely irrelevant generalization just to attack :)

I think your remark was more fitting for the "Prejudice" category.

    Nice try though kid.

  • @titaniumnutz2436 saying you look chinese isn't racism, saying because you look chinese, you must be loyal you china is. it the same thing that happen during WWII to the japanese, that is why it is racist, because you judge a person based on race.

I never suggest you are neckneck, that is a example of why it is racist. but if you can't understand that, I am not surprise, racist never admit they are judging other by how they look, it doesn't change the fact that you do.

  • @akinkhoo

Now you are completely ignoring the original argument point.

    1. iPhone is not made in China - it's just assembled in China

    2. May you were joking about it but when I corrected you with the data and claimed that China should not get credit for iPhone, you argued (no joke) with WRONG info.

    3. When you got out debated you stared to use swear words and made attacks calling me racist.

    You are pathetic.

Why did you delete the comments I left on your channel? did you even read them?

  • @titaniumnutz2436 1. it is made in China, I never argued % and you can't deny it.

    2. in none of my reply did I EVER bring up %, I merely mention chip and none of the info you quoted even relates to my reply, you were just making a strawman arguement.

    3. you accused me of being Chinese, implying that is something wrong, you cannot deny that was a racist comment. as long as you continue to refuse to admit you shouldn't have being up race, nothing u say matters. why would I read what racist say?

  • @akinkhoo

But I countered your every accusations in those comments.

You deleted them because you couldn't handle them :)

    here is short version;

    1. You brought up RACE first "why would I be proud I AM NOT FROM CHINA!" (I never suggest you are at this point)

    2. Then I merely pointed out the fact that since YOU sounded DEFENSIVE on PRC related matter, I thought you are Chinese descendant living in Singapore, and you are lying about not being a Chinese to just win the argument we were having.

  • @akinkhoo PART 2 What about your manner? These are the examples of your own language on the comments BEFORE I suggested you are Chinese. "If you are so square" "go fuck yourself" Then I suggested you sounds Chinese loyal to PRC "now YOU are just the fucking joke" "fuck off racist" You were getting childish and foul mouthed when you were losing the argument remember? Why do you suddenly change your tone from a 13 year old boy on a sugar rage to a preachy elementary school principal?
  • @akinkhoo PART 3

I NEVER implied being Chinese is WRONG in GENERAL sense.

Racism: is the belief that there are INHERENT differences in people's traits and capacities that are ENTIRELY due to their race.

When in CONTEXT eg: [Lying about being Chinese to WIN an argument is wrong] it' CANNOT by DEFINITION be a racist remark :)

You are the one who created the whole RACIST intention by yourself and persistent on attacking me with it.

By DEFINITION you are making "STRAW MAN ARGUMENT" :)

  • @titaniumnutz2436 the definition of racism is to judge a person based on his race, if you didn't do that then explain how does being chinese or not has anything to do with loyalty to china? do you were to suggest chinese-australian all secretly loyal to china? don't lie and say that isn't racism, racism isn't limited to physical capacity it has to do with preception and treatment and the language you use in indeed an attempt to create differences.

btw who said anything about being chinese?

  • @akinkhoo

Wow your logic is like that of six year old :)

Let me explain it slowly to match your intelligence

    I said;

Singapore is kind of owned and run by Chinese [Meaning: therefore it's not unlikely that you are Chinese even though your location says Singapore]

    Then I said;

I [think] YOU are secretly loyal to China. [BASED on your other COMMENTS of defending China in other videos and channels :) I NEVER said all Chinese living abroad are loyal to China]

  • @titaniumnutz2436 [ therefore it's not unlikely that you are Chinese even though your location says Singapore ]

there, you just implied that race has something to do with how you judge people. if you didn't implied it, you wouldn't really have mention it. you are a racist without a doubt because you would make assumption on a person race. Singapore is run by people born in Singapore much like how Australia is run by Australian, or do you go around saying Australia is own and run by white?

  • @akinkhoo

Yes Australia is run by politicians with predominantly "European " background.

As you go to the top it gets even narrower to Anglo-Saxon.

This is totally understandable as 75% of pop has Euro background

"White" is not a race it's color :)

Your use of term "White" tells me that you do recognize the racial difference instinctively as well, all humans do.

So don't give me that [political correctness] bullshit mate :)

Of course race is VERY important in certain CONTEXT

  • @akinkhoo Part 2

    As I said, IN CONTEXT

I already explained this to you over and over... so you are without a doubt an imbecile.

    But here it goes again.

    Eg.

If someone is acting TOO DEFENSIVE for PRC in a discussion regarding the [Free Tibet], it's perfectly normal to question that person's racial background because it is RELEVANT.

SAME GOES for a Tibetan viciously attacking PRC and a Hebrew passionately defending state of Israel in debate regarding Palestine.

    Because it's RELEVANT :)

  • @akinkhoo Part 3

    So back to our argument.

Whether you were joking or not.

From YOUR 3rd comment, I began to PERCEIVE your words as an attempt to improve PRC/China's image using other nation's achievement [iPhone] which China contributed next to nothing.

From YOUR 5th comment you started to get hostile and then FILTHY mouthed in 6th%7th comment.

Then you began crying [RACISM] as an WEAPON.

From my experience, I know Asians take racism even further with [family clans registry] 族譜

  • @akinkhoo Part 4

    So I summaries

    1. I just casually wanted to correct you

    2. Thought you were pro-PRC nuts -> so wanted to play a little :)

    3. You got angry and things got very amusing and interesting

    4. I did not JUDGE your ENTIRE individual merit with your CHINESE background. I just used it to deduce the possible motive for your behavior during the argument (Legal & accepted even in a COURTROOM so stop crying racism)

This is part 4, read all 4 in order before replying :)

  • @titaniumnutz2436 the fact that you think that could be a reason in your deduction is racism. you did judge a person by his race. you also wrongly assume I am pro-PRC, and you never apologized for that, you treat this like a game yet you expect people to take it serious and whine when you found this isn't the case, and bitch how you had won an argument you were having with no one... good job trolling yourself.

  • @akinkhoo

You countered none of my arguments in this post :)

let me repeat for your feeble intellect.

    1. I never judged your ENTIRE personality based on race. I just QUESTIONED your motivation to DISCREDIT your argument in this ISOLATED topic of argument :)

    2. This is called DISCREDIT technique. used in courtroom all the time :)

eg. Questioning witness's capacity/motive using all sorts of background info including health condition, racial sympathy / hatred, education level ect..

  • @akinkhoo Part 2

    3. Asians do I what I did ALL the time. In fact they are the Champion of RACISM.

    4. You are VERY pro-China not only in this post, but else where. I tracked your posts around a bit and you act like a spokesman of PRC government :)

    5. Conclusion; you are Chinese loyal to Mainland -> There is NOTHING WRONG with this in&out of ITSELF but in context of our argument, your argument points are questionable therefore discredited.

    Please repute all 5 points.

  • @titaniumnutz2436 [ Asians do I what I did ALL the time. In fact they are the Champion of RACISM. ]

again you show your true face as a racist, making a prejudice against races.

    [ I tracked your posts around a bit ]

a stalker; that only show your obsession. =)

[ you are Chinese loyal to Mainland ]

I made these post are because people like you exist; people who judge other based on race, I experience it. speaking up against prejudice against asian isn't "loyalty", its doing what right.

  • there is a different between bigotry and racism, you reveal it when you branded your prejudice, not only me as individual but as Asian. but I knew from the start that you were racist. people who are bigot won't waste so much time invested in hate. it quite clear that you were here to look for an argument from the start. if you want to continue to invest in your hate it not my business.

    idiot! XD

  • LYING LYING LYING

  • You know in China, we usually say, each per cent of quality is worth each per cent of money you paid.

You want cheap, then you compromise the quality. Come on , LV, intel, and Boeing, AirBus are part of made in China today. What do you expect? let chinese people do $1 salary to provide you the $1000 merchandise to defeat US workers who have $40 an hour salary? You are not kidding?

  • @nitro912gr That's the problem of product segmentation, when people purchase high-end or expensive products, they're not sensitive with the price, thus consumers probably prefer Japanese or European made goods than Chinese one with the same quality even the price is lower. So Chinese branded products moves to the lower end, and it's a price sensitive niche and images are formed by these products that compromise quality to cut costs. In fact the parts supplied for MNC's premium brand is the same

  • And it's a bit shocking that Chinese products in N.American are totally different with that in Chinese markets, especially that made by Multinationals in China. The image overseas is mainly based on goods in grocery shops. meanwhile, the parts inside iPhones may never be seen. Customers in US have only driven a VW passat built in Germany, but may not have ride on that built in China. I've driven both, can't tell the difference, the parts are all domestically sourced.

  • I know that most of the devices, cars etc, are made in PRC, but under different production line standards, I speak for pure China products, which are appear good and cheap and are just... cheap.

I believe however that what you pay is what you get

  • also I used to have a expensive Chinese 50cc bike (the most expensive from the PRC made ones) a few years ago, it needed repairs all the time, then I got a more expensive Gilera 50cc after that, it never failed me, and I was doing all the services the manual says, on both of them.

Sorry but I can not trust pure PRC products anymore, expect clothes.

  • That would be a tragedy that Chinese manufacturers still focus on cutting prices for competition in Int'l markets, and no one in Amercia know about which one has good reputation of quality, hence it leaves space 4 the opportunists that use inferior goods with lower prices to cheat customers. The most discouraging thing is now it's too bad for creative biz in China, and then tainted milk even makes Chinese sick on indigenous brand. And to be frank, the train used in this video is ICE3 CN version

  • The China railway purchased license worthing 4 billion Euro from Seimens in 2005, and CNR built these trains in North China for CR, so don't worry, these trains will never derail, the ATC system is based on ETCS, European standard.

  • there are no pure chinese products. you have to remember that the cheap chinese products you buy in the west are built to the specifications of western companies. they are willing to sacrifice quality for the sake of profit, and are just as much at fault as the chinese.

  • @nitro912gr

Wow this comment was flagged about an year ago but you were right!!!

This train crashed in July 2011!!!

  • @titaniumnutz2436 yeah, I hate to be a prophet of tragedy here, but damn it was so obvious.
