I have a 86 735i vert, everything is good until I reach about 3800 rpm's then the engine has a power loss and fire. I have checked the fuel pressure regulator, the full throttle switch the mass air flow sensor crankshaft sensor ,coil spark plug,coil wire,distiboters, no luck so far, any ideas on what I should do next....rep me please thxxx
I had a feeling a real driver could coax that BMW around a track quickly. Richard is so ham handed, it seems like all he wants to do is hang it out and let the smoke fly, then loose it a couple three times per drive. All the guys seem to be geezer drifters, smooth is fast, but they ain't trying to be fast they're putting on a show. These guys are a hoot to watch, but I wish they'd get into the tech of the cars more.
@505197 If you want them to do more about the techs of things, you should watch Fifth Gear. They often discuss the same cars (except for the super cars) and they look at it more serious.
@505197 btu that's why they have the stig drive it around a track, so that you can actually see what the car can do. My dad has one of these and was kinda pissed throughout this bit until they took it around and it put up a crazy time, lol

I thought that car looked like a handler and Richard couldn't drift it, so what, driftin adn handling don't have shit to do with each other. That car had damn good side bite and was hooked the fuck up, you just got to know how to use it. It no doubt has a lot of camber, and when ya counter steer it it "wedges" the car, had he tried it on a slicker surface he'd have liked the better for driftin. Those guys toss cars around tooo much, smooth is fast, seamless application of G forces sets fast time
The car really is rubbish for the money BMW’s intent. The best thing BMW could do was to drop it. It looks like a Z3, it has cheap plastic bits all over it. The fitment of the interior was on par with a Chrysler 300.
They even tried putting the enormous M5 motor in there which just made the car drive like an over-motorized skateboard.
An M5 or RS6 is a much better car.
If you need top-down, then a Ferrari California would be oh so much better.

Watch M5 history, he actually compliments the looks of the older M5's, and I've heard Clarkson say many times that the Germans know how to make "good cars." Also, this M button, that's a memory button that remembers your personal settings, and is probably set default to everything max. If you really want, you can set the car to start up regularly to whatever the default is on the M button. Clarkson is indeed to old for this technology, since he can't even change the radio or turn the sat nav off

The engine has less horses, but way more torque and the gearbox is not Alpinas (since they dont make any at all), but the regular ZF-automatic used in normal BMWs (Switchtronic) which is excellent and obviously much easier to use than the incredibly sharp manual in the regular Z8. This car was born only for the American market, so its no wonder that Europeans dont like THE CHANGES, but the car itself is just magnificent, one of the all time greats.
Alpina and Brabus aren't Tuners, they are Carmanufactors. AMG is the Housetuner of Mercedes, BMW has the M-Series to compare, and Audi just put a RS in front of the Carname. "Housetuners" of Audi's are ABT and MTM. And VW doesn't care how powerfull theyr cars are, the most are tuned by privates or ABT, Tec-Power and Sportec. And bevore you start biching why audi and vw got the same tuners, it's the same company.
Jeremy trash talked the M3. And then when the M3 did a 1:38 lap and the other 2 did like a 1:42, he still didn't admit the M3 was great. I think some guy in a BMW stole his girlfriend, or maybe even his wife, because I have never seen anyone deny the facts about BMW like Jeremy does.

yes the M5 was definitely one of TG's low points as far as reviews go. Clarkson made himself look a right twat in not understanding that the M button is a macro control and basing the entire review around it

Watch M5 history, he actually compliments the looks of the older M5's, and I've heard Clarkson say many times that the Germans know how to make "good cars." Also, this M button, that's a memory button that remembers your personal settings, and is probably set default to everything max. If you really want, you can set the car to start up regularly to whatever the default is on the M button. Clarkson is indeed to old for this technology, since he can't even change the radio or turn the sat nav off

The engine has less horses, but way more torque and the gearbox is not Alpinas (since they dont make any at all), but the regular ZF-automatic used in normal BMWs (Switchtronic) which is excellent and obviously much easier to use than the incredibly sharp manual in the regular Z8. This car was born only for the American market, so its no wonder that Europeans dont like THE CHANGES, but the car itself is just magnificent, one of the all time greats.

To bring it on the Point:
Alpina and Brabus aren't Tuners, they are Carmanufactors. AMG is the Housetuner of Mercedes, BMW has the M-Series to compare, and Audi just put a RS in front of the Carname. "Housetuners" of Audi's are ABT and MTM. And VW doesn't care how powerfull theyr cars are, the most are tuned by privates or ABT, Tec-Power and Sportec. And bevore you start biching why audi and vw got the same tuners, it's the same company.

Jeremy trash talked the M3. And then when the M3 did a 1:38 lap and the other 2 did like a 1:42, he still didn't admit the M3 was great. I think some guy in a BMW stole his girlfriend, or maybe even his wife, because I have never seen anyone deny the facts about BMW like Jeremy does.

Jeremy Clarkson is a biased journalist when it comes to cars and this can be proven by his discrimination against most Porsche's. But he;s right about BMW's - their fucking shit - and i mean ALL of them - including the fucking M3. Nobody cares if its got a good lap time cuz it shows barely anything about a good car.

So whoever emailed me the comment, fuck off. lol BMW could make the Veyron, and Jeremy wouldn't acknowledge it as "fast". His review of it would talk about how a BMW Veyron couldn't tow a horse trailer or something equally stupid.
