A few of the most noticeable advantages I found on solving with cross on the left is that doing x rotations is better than y rotations, and you never have to do L moves. Obviously, if you depend on your right hand very much and don't care about balance in hand movements, then try cross on left.
I don't get it, the Red/Blue pair doesn't match for the solution. I am probably not reading it correctly, but where am I supposed to execute the "2x"?

I did it and it solved ot perfectly
its x2 which is a rotation of the cube for instance if yellow was your U face, after x2.. White will be your U face =] hope this works
