  • none of you are called google, so stop acting like you know it all.

  • Whats funny is all the comments .... like its all your fault the horse can be silly.... I reschool naughty and deemed unsafe horses and theres no one way with any horse.... although your mare does look worried she is trying.... much more than i can say for some.... perhaps make you weekly routine full off different things.. i.e one day schooling(no poles/jumps), the next day a hack round the block or a blast in the country, then the next a course off small simple fences.... mix things up... :)

  • she looks nervous and very tense, look at her at 2:03 tense through her back end

  • Horses live in the moment. If they go by an object one day that doesnt phase them, you could walk by it the next day and thats all they will focus on. Working with them to have trust and understanding their ways of communication are good tools to utilize when we have days like these. Once you establish trust and communication on the ground, you can then start seeing progress in the saddle. But just like us every horse learns in different ways! Not every method is right for every horse.

  • This reminds me ALOT of the pony I ride; he's a real sweetheart(when he wants to be) but but if it doesn't go his way he'll refuse at nearly ALL the jumps! O, and he doesn't like jumping wen another horse is in the skool! Nice puffa jacket, though!

  • my horse was like this i have a video that might help you

although this is 3yr old haha

i hope you both are better now

  • WOOOOO you used nickelback as the soundtrack :')

  • your definatley not a bad rider!:-) you are moving to much in the air ( leaning to much over your horses neck ) i used to do this as well. itseasy to sort out! you dont need to move in the air wait for the horse to come up to you. if you do this your position will be fine xxxxxx

  • you are a really good rider and all you need to do with her is work.trust me i loaned a fjord pony called moorse and no one beleived i could get him to jump as when they rode him he wouldnt even go over poles and he even bolted with my friend becky.but we got there and are now jumping about 2ft6 and still making progress so it proves all it take is patience your mare has a massive scope and loads of potential just keep going you will get there!btw my progress with moorse only took about 5 months

  • She reminds me soo much of my mare! She seems like she is very intelligent, just like mine, but also when faced with new things is worried about them. Just keep at it, My mare went from doing small crosses to pointblank refusing to go near a pole on the ground. Now, we hunt, jump and we also do 4ft out hunting, she needs to gain confidence and you need to put your trust in her, she's got one heck of a scopey jump, just like my mare! Keep at it, she's a good one, just look at her paces and jump!

  • I think the fact that she is a mare may explain part of it.. My mare can be like that sometimes, and it can last for weeks.. However, I think she is overfaced with the bigger jumps and needs to go right back to popping 80cm if that from a trot - to gain courage and respect for the fences. Otherwise she will have a nasty accident at some point and then she will really scare her. It is difficult, however, to determine fear from misbehaviour sometimes.. food for thought. Good luck with her though x

  • she looks so apprehensive, even when is jumping, it seems out of luck and maybe just having it right, but the mare doesnt look like she knows what she is doing, dont overface and scare her with big oxers or solid fences, it may take a while, but only do flat for a few weeks with those poles set ow you had them, then EVENTUALLY put a crossrail at the end of the poles, this mare is trying but is absolutly scared to death, put 110% confidence into her everytime you ride!

  • Maybe her eyesight is bad? That might cause her to see the pole as something more scary?

  • I would go back to basics...maybe just flat work for ahwile and lots of dressage will help then introduce a pole and then another until its trot poles then canter on at a time and so on..and LOTS of prasise as if its her first time ever doing it

  • I would have a chiropractor check her, have a saddlefitter check the fit and maybe get a horse massage person out for her. It seems like it could be a pain response.

  • This smacks of lack of confidence. Even when she was jumping 'well' she was still leaping them like they were going to eat her. You know what I say? Don't run before you can walk. Go back to basics and build the confidence from the ground up. From what I can see she is a very honest, genuine mare. You can see she is trying despite being unsure. Don't worry, some horses take longer to settle then others in their work.. with her it'd be worth spending the time going back to basics.

  • may not help at all but maybe a calmer such as magic would help her to relax? x

  • do you mix it up? do you play, do groundwork, go for trail rides, just plain take her for walks? you know, she could just be plain old sick of jumping. It looks like shes just not having fun anymore. All work and no play makes anyone irritable :)

  • im not being funny...but how is she nasty? she doesn't buck, rear bronc...okay she refuses jumps but doesn't every horse, she probs just getting used to it and its not her being nasty if she's just standing there :L a good rider never blames there horse.

  • You could of either taken her back to basics, or just kept on trucking, eventually she will settle down, or she will just stay like it, they are just like us, some are always good, some always bad, and some inbetween. The TB I ride is exaclty like her, one minute he is spinging 5ft2/1m60+, the next minute he won't even walk on!! There is no reason why he does it we have tried everything, we just have to live with it. Hope she came out ok xx

  • @msjumpingqueenful They dont THINK they are right, they KNOW :D There is never a dull moment

  • dIS IS XACTLY WAT MY PONY DOES>0:57, don't trn away...she culd do tat from a stndstil if it ws 2 big ask some1 to put 1 pole dwn n MAKE her wlk ovr it, it may take 10 min bt dn't let her lwk away. i no dis sonds nasty bt dn't trust her, just case shes done it 1ce, dosn't men she wil do it gain. NEVR STOP ASKIN, keep at her n as soon as u feel her slightly stp out of place corect! dn't let her get 2 d stage were she gets wat she wants, lke stop n turn away! i no tis hrd i no how u feel NEVRGIVUP!

  • also, don't make it obv wat u r asking, if she does 1:47, change your mind ALL the time, by doing this u rnt givin her time 2 think of wat 2 do 2 get out of it, cause remembr she has 2 think 2! i mean literally keep turning her second after second different ways...after every step she takes change ur mind...and always finish on a good note, even if it is not as high as u had hoped always stop on a gwd note!

  • Sorry for being so late, but hope you two are doing well!

  • My friend's pony dislikes the multi-colored poles but will go over the plain wooden ones just fine. Try changing up her exercises. Her stride lengthening looks wonderful, so now try working on collection by doing a lot of transitions, bending and getting her round (This will help strengthen her muscles and work on her balance). Just look up exercises online. You want her to feel like a smooth, bouncy rocking horse at the canter. This'll help on controlling her strides & approaches to the fences.

  • I agree a lot of what many are saying, she might be getting bored and be acting like a punk. I whip is good, but don't over-use it(which I'm sure you know) She looks like she'd get frustrated real quick. try to give more praise than correction b/c then she'll hate what she's doing. Also, try approaching the fences in a more collected manner so she has all her balance and will be more confident going over them. She may also not like the pattern on the poles?

  • Try and do different things, if she does it once and does it well.. move on to something completely different, change it for her so she can do new things, its almost asif she gets bored, so if you jump her and she does it perfectly, ignore jumping for a while and make up your own dressage test or something, then pop over another jump and if you have the facility take her for a ride in the field, things like that to vary the ride abit so she never knows whats coming next, therefore doesn't

  • @YasminB761 have the option to refuse!

  • try doing a bit of lungeing AND riding. Also I realized that you are not wearing a body protecter. Thuink you might want to wear one all the time. And look where you want to land (up basicly). try to end on a good note e.g is she refuses dont get off till she goes over it.

  • I think you must try to get a relation with the horse. You often must go in the nature with her and show her the things, she doesn't like! And THEN you can start jumping. But little jumps. Not that high.

Even by the best horse it can be, that it is refusing. But this is not "normally". Try it. It only can turn better, not worse. ;-)

  • They arent a team. the pony ist fighting against her. shes rude and dont listen to the rider. I recommend more training, the pony must go slowlyer at jumping and a lot of ground work! visit my channel. i had the same problems... thers always a solution. good luck and we you need tipps im here for the rider ;) Nice wishes and im sorry for de bad english :/

  • Suggestions! (not critisising ;)

1- At 1:18 you are looking down, which I probably would have done too :P but yeahh, you wont come off as often if you look up :)

2- When she goes good, she goes really fast. I am not sure if you have enough control to go that high just yet, and you may have control, it is just decieving :)

3- Once she does it good, maybe decide its enough for today? Instead of getting her worked up?

    4 - Do a lot of flatwork + Polework.

    Your pony has potential :D

  • Vous êtes magnifiques vous 2 !!!

  • try free schooling her so you know what height she is willing to jump and get her confidence up

  • I have the exact problem with one of my ponies, but i found the only way to get through it is to build up a relationship, and let them know that you're not there to force them into anything, but to help them through it. Monty still wont go near a pole or any other 'scary' object but im working on it, first try some groundwork or lunging, then once she's more confident about things and you, ride, but without using a crop or spurs or anything. or even try bareback.

  • maybe try having lessons with her and going to clinics, they could try and help, have you had the vet come and check her out?:)

  • at 2:06 she seems to be favoring her front left.

  • otherwise agreed to release him try to jump on a cross or something

and try to jump in step to go and jumped three meters for him to trot up and try to give him sprig and especially confidence I had the same problem just wanted to hear my Tinker does not have balekn and after 5weken already 95cm jumps on me try it:)

  • Try some outside of the box thinking, natural horsemanship is a fun way to bring you and your horse closer by creating a better bond on the ground there fore a great ride . chiro or massage could help in this situation but get those eyes checked. are her feet sore.... i dont mean is she limping , I mean are her feet sore? Don't give up on her though cause there is something there between the two of you there is just something blocking it good luck

  • have you taken her to a vet to see if there is anything physically wrong? i dont think that you should have spurs or a crop, since you and your horse are partners. sometimes if a horse refuses, its not cause they are bad its cause they dont trust enough. I would suggest horsemanship after you make sure nothing is physically wrong.

Also the colors of the jumps and the things she is scared of, Horses cant usually see dark colors like blue and purple but see brighter colors like green and yellow.

  • I know if I were on this horse, I would be wearing spurs and carrying a crop and would administer the crop appropriately on refusals where the horse was given the right spot, and simply became willful and refused. The riding is there and the rider is putting the horse in the right spot. A horse doing oxers and balking at a trot pole is either willful or has very bad eyesight.

There can only be one boss in the ring and it is not the horse. I like this horse a lot. Great job.

  • It looks like one minute you are stable, and then the next your not. But it also looks like she doesn't realize the object is there but last minute she does. Maybe you should have her looked at. :) Not trying to be bossy, just giving advice!

  • have you had a vet check her eye sight? I have seen a few horses like this (unpredictable and spooky at 'normal' things) when they have had eye problems and can't see the objects clearly

  • its not her back or teeth, i can tell you that now. it is merely a confidence issue. some horses have a close connection with theyre rider, but when theyre nervous or unsure of something they look to their rider for support, and when the rider is nervous or unsure of something the horse will always look for an easy way out of the situation, in your case running out from jumps because theyre " big and scary". the best way to get over this situation is to do n.horsemanship to create a strong bond

  • Have you had her eyesight checked? It may be that she doesnt see the objects well and it may scare her.

  • volgens mij springt hij / zij niet graag

  • Well done on that stay at 1:19, that looks like a tough horse but gorgeous.

  • Do you still have her? If you hven't had her back and teeth checked you should get hem check asap! She looks like she is in pain.

  • maybe use you're voice, If shé just has something as, i don't wanne do this anymore , i just wanne eat play and that's all, You have to show here, That you are boss, en that she can"t always have here way, if you let her win Wat will it be if you walk on the streats ore something ,it can be very dangerous then so just give her legs, when she refuse turn around and go again, and if she's just playing whit you and testing you show hows boss!Lower you voice get made and give one time harder legs

  • btw i subbed plz sub bk

  • my old pony (mare ) was like that!

  • this mare looks very scared. she may do the poles one way and then be scared the other because they don't see things the way humans do. when she resists you push and push at her until she is forced to go, but not once did she look ready to go to me. not even when she jumped... note her ears flat back on her head and how high she is jumping. signs of a very scared little horse...

  • @MindySchroder Famous people have horses that jump with there ears flat back, stop being a know it all; and give the girl a chance, as you can see - they have off days, give it a rest.

  • Make everything you do with her fun for her!! When she's good give her lots of praise and don't do too much. Just do a little bit with her and keep changing what you do with her.

Have you thought about getting her teeth and back checked as well as here legs - she could be in pain. (It wouldn't be your fault though)

If there aren't any problems there then just carry on with making every thing good fun for her. Keep your jumping low until she's got confidence in you and jumping.

    Good luck Xx

  • Never look down at the poles when she is refusing to go near them, always look straight infront as if they werent there. Hope that helped :)

  • Have you tried some natural horsemanship? Sometimes these techniques work wonders with difficult horses. Maybe your mare will benefit from some, as it gives them confidence in themselves and teaches them boundaries. Good luck, she looks amazing when shes good! :)

  • je moet eerst een leren rijden man !!!!!!!!!!!

  • my horse got the picture when he wanted to do something nasty it would mean he has to work harder than he would have if he just did what i said...

  • How old is she?If young it may just be an issue of working again and again!Mostly you need strong positive reinforcement- make a fuss when she does something right.Obviously I don't know your horsel, but that bit looks too strong. You're tugging hard on the reins, understandable given the shying, but you be sure you're using more leg than hand or you will put too much strain on her mouth.Try leaving her in the ring alone for an hour each day w/ the jumps up so she has no reason to mistrust them.

  • Typical mare I'm afraid!!! Does she lunge or long rein well? I imagine it's a confidence thing, go back to basics, cavelletti and poles on the ground and move up really slowly :) Also try and keep her attention on you more than her surroundings, by always making her work properly - actively from behind and in a rhythm!

  • omd i cant believe you can actually take a video of your horse with all that dirt on her! thats horrible. other wise good riding x

  • @rawrlikeEeyore LoL, Hope you're kidding about the mud, got plenty pictures of me riding my horse and you cant tell what colour he is supposed to be! (groomed the bits where the tack goes obvs) Nothin' wrong witha bitta dirt!

  • right! my pony that i ride is the exact same , plus wearing mucker boots dont give you a decent kick it just bounces , if u wear acctual riding boots you will beable to get a decent dunt with your legs you probs no this but just syaing (: .my pony is the exact same look at the video of me jumping him (dusty) , then u should see him when he does what your pony does , i find that sitting quiet and talking to him and giving him lot of prase when he does it right always helps! pm me for more info!x

  • another thing might be is when u feel nervous or something might happen the horse will feel it to and second guess,it always happends to me when i think it wont go over well. Also sounds gay but talk to her! if your confident and u sound confident she is more likely to be confident to :D also tell her when shes a good girl when she does things right!!:)

  • was für kurze steigbügel?:o

  • To me it looks like she is playing you for a fool in an attempt to get you to become afraid of what her next move is gonna be. She is probably testing you to see if you're worth listening to and whether you're able to be her alpha leader.

Hope she became more manageable for you after this video and that you got the help you asked for. :)

  • Is she a morgan?

  • Maybe she just had enough. My mare hates boring jobs too. We need to think of new things all the time to keep her interest. And sometimes they just don't need work, they need some playtime.

Working this way has really proved itself. She will never buck with me. We work with respect. I'm not a superb rider. My horse isn't a superb horse. But we love eachother. I try anything for her, she does the same for me

  • Keep the jumps low to start with but make them as scary as you can. At first, if she refuses, encourage her with you voice and legs, never with your whip. It doesn't matter if she leaps from a standstill or stumbles over, tell her she's amazing. Don't let her turn away from the jump if she stops, this is teaching her to run out.

  • i would buy that horse anyday because a horse like that is the best because they no when you are facing fear and they share it with you x

  • when you jump and she does it well, praise her alot to let her know that she has done good, when you jump, notice how her ears go back almost asif it is uncomfortable for her, try letting your riens slip through you hands so she can fully stretch out her neck and head and see if it helps :)

  • She is beautiful!! I almost bought a horse that looked like that.

  • awww...have you gottin her eyes checkede???

  • Hey, Lovely Little Pony! Just Trying To Be Helpfull- If You Watch At 0:55 Your Asking Her To Go Fowards With Your Legs, Then Slightly Pulling Back On Your Reins Asking Her To Move Back- Maybe Confusing Her? As When You Have Your Hands Still She Goes Lovely And Forward Like At 2:19 You Have A Looser Rein And She Goes Foward Over The First Pole But Watch Your Hands Coming To The Second, You Slightly Pull Back And She Stops And Hesitates Hope It Helps :)

  • @flissybaby that makes a lot of sence thats like horseology :) lol

  • Why are so many people bashing mares? watch the Grand prix events, the field of competition is mainly composed of mares and stallions due to their bravery. This girl needs to keep the motion of her horse in front of her leg, 1 of her problems is she gets in front of her horses motion giving her horse an easy out when she feels like it. Drive her forward with your weight in your leg and not your upper body. eyes up, keep working over smaller jumps to build you and your pony's confidence back up.

  • Is she getting arena sour? Do you work her to often in the arena? I think I would suggest getting her out for a lot of trail rides and keep the arena work to as little needed as possible and see if that helps. You're a very good rider and you handle her very well:)

  • you should smack the horse with your whip. not really hard but just hard enough to where she knows what not to do.

  • Have you tried to go on a walk in the woods horses love that :)

  • if she did not resist she would not be teacing you anything horses test and teach us as much as we test and teach them

  • My mare is the exact same! So moody!

  • Tu devrais aussi le faire travailler un peu au sol :)

  • Well, I had a horse that used to do that and I thought of something one day. When she takes thoughs fits hop off and walk her through the little corse you've got and let her check everything out. Do that a handful of times and then hop back on and walk her around everything. After doing that canter her around everything, if she wants to stop and check anything out let her. Then after you've done all of that try going the course again. It always helped my horse, hope it helps yours. :)

  • typical mare!

  • have you had her vision checked? may be a sight thing, you never know....

  • looks like your doing good, just one thing i have learnt, Try saying this "Pat a Dog, Stroke a Horse' I learnt this through Natural horsemanship to a horse when they her the slapping on there skin because some horses have sensitive skin/thin skin they feel they are being punished for what they have done, Next time try just rubbing your hand up her neck a few times and allow her to feel a nice sensation her her body rather a hard/soft patting noise. Give it a shot it will take time just patients

  • Wow there are so many morons on YouTube that would comment how shit someone is rather than be helpful? Half of youse ain't got the balls to do it so why open your snobby mouths? :) good riding I couldn't have done a better job! Xx

  • I know that.my horse is so,too -_-

But you are a brave girl! :)

  • my mum always says your horse can only be as brave as youu..so if you not confident when jumping she wont... x

  • Ahh mine is like this... sometimes it takes like 10 minutes to walk over a pole :L personally, i just keep on at them until they do it.. they get bored if theyre just standing there, but thats me :P its probably better to make sure that you have it right with smaller jumps before tackling some of the bigger ones in the vid. Just my opinion. x

  • just some advice : When your asking her to go forwards when she refused try not to pull her in the mouth when you sqeeze her as you are sending mixed signals ( it's a bit like saying : yeah go forwards actually stop no go no stop) great video thought so true :) xxx

  • ok so this is what i see. Shes really hawky (she examines things before she even goes near them) which is a good thing. I makes them a more athletic jumper. My pony's really similar. But when your going to these jumps your leaning and she can tell that ur not sure that ur getting over so ur just hoping for the best. What you should do to every jump is sit, push you heels forward, and kick her when she stalls. Also if yo do that once and she refuses ull be ok because you balance is in ur heels

  • That's a mare for ya. GELDINGS alllll the way (:

  • I don't know if our horses are exactly the same but my current horse is horrified of eeeeverything and when he doesn't want to do something he just says, "NO!" as well. We've done a lot of work with him making get out and SEE the world but I always carry my big stick and some spurs. He's a different horse with earplugs though. Not sure why. It just seems to change his thought pattern. However, I think if he had a pile of hay in a padded room he'd be happiest...

  • she resists because she hates you and jumping!!! i would hate jumping to

  • poor horse

  • oh dear, my horse is the same as her! and its so frustrating when they're so good but so stupid other times! To stop mine being stupid when im aproaching a fence or feel him winding himself up i ride my seat really deep and keep my lower leg constantly on him. i find that whips make them worse cause it just pisses them off when they're in that sort of mood. you could try to vary your riding, maybe hack her one day do flat work the next ect. i hope this helps

  • Also Grab that whip wacckk her on the bum n shout its no good giving her a few squirmesh kicks!!!

  • I Noticed Everytime u fall off its because your leaning forward waaaaay before the jump sit back and kick Apart frm that good!! :)

  • STOP LOOKIN AT THE DAMN JUMP IT AINT GOIN ANYWHERE I PROMISE YOU THAT! AND KEEP HANDS UP AND KICK HER HARD RIGHT BEFORE THE JUMP AND YELL YAH AT HER ALSO! BUT THE MORE YOU LOOK THE MORE SHE SAYS OH HELL NO TO HERSELF!

  • She takes of early when it comes to the jumps, Georgeous over the trotting poles, You could try lunging her over jumps or freejump her around the arena, It might help her confidence =) xx

You totally DON´T understand your horse - you have to find a good trainer

  • I agree with a few people here, I have an OTT STb gelding and i started from scratch with him, it takes a while, but now he lunges, canters, trots, walks, turns, stops, jumps(up to 1.6/7m)!!!! hes amazing.... just take it slow and start from the start... xD

  • get run away pony for awhile that is fine too, this is and easy fix but takes time and if you are really wanting to help her and yourself it will not take long.

  • when she does resist you push her harder than every i am workig with a pony who has gotten away with nasty refusal for 20 yrs and well she isnt getting away with it anymore, you have to show them that refusing is not an option be patient but direct and also make sure you know what your doing before you go to the jump, the slit mis thought and she will know, also make sure you dont lean forward before the jump count and go with her, she knows what she is doing let her go and if you..

  • To start with you should change your trainer... and then stop sending her miles away of the fence

  • she's a beautiful horse, but she looks so confused. looks like she doesn't understand what you want from her. you should try some groundwork, start from scratch like she's never been ridden before and teach her the stop/turn/go signals again.

  • Look up a video called Casper a year ago, the video is amazing. Jazz is a really good rider and she has dealt with everything you are. She may be able to give you some good helpful tips :) Good luck!

  • If they can get away with it.... they will!

  • She's just being a mare that's all

    xoxo

  • it could be you or she does not like jumping maby use her as a dressage horse or sell her because she might not like you she might not be the horse for you.

    hope this helps

Dann gings.

ansonsten: Bodenarbeit und Vertrauen aufbauen !! Ich reite nie ohne Vertrauen zum Pferd.

  • this is amazing and so very true (well sat on that refusal btw) there's many ways to a help a horse, im sure you'll find one that helps :) just stick at it xx

  • Well It will be a long, falling, hard ride for ya, Just wait til she ready!

  • i saw one tine a professional that stops the horse before jumping, 10 times at a row... next time the horse jumped ... but obvisously she doesn't like it,, trying maybe smaller and cooler ...

  • tbh thats not that bad every horse can be broken my horse has broken her last 2 owners backs so

  • Try different things!! Maybe she is scared of jumping or maybe she is not happy with what you are asking her to do

  • Great job staying on at 1:18:)

  • Just listen to her.

  • theres nothing wrong with that horse. look up like 4 strides before the jumps, kick her. make her go over the jumps. all thats doing is teaching her to refuse, and u two look like u can be a good team. just MAKE her jump. KICKKKKKKK! even from a standstill. just hold on.

  • Back to basics. Trying different approaches, tack, and earning her trust and respect again. I won't go down the tack/teeth/back road as many peoples instincts check these problems first, if nothing is wrong there I would suggest lots of ground work, fun, games, trust building and making learning fun again. a lot of the time she looks very uptight and unhappy, maybe she needs to take it easy for while to become a little less sour?. Wish you lots of luck and hope shes doing well!.

  • mares....

    but i understand her

your stirrups are too short and i would suggest some lounge lessons to get your seat sorted

but dissagreements like these sometimes just happen

  • back to basics and loads of groundwork and lunging try to get her trust and respect back :) if she starts being silly maybe lunge her to get her going forward and when she is try the task that she refuesed.

  • sometimes the horse i ride ddoes this they say hes bipolar but i think he just likes to be the different one in the group and to get me off his back worked a few times. i think the best thing you can do is not to give up everytime he bucked me off id get straight back up and do it again if i fell off again ah well i still keep trying

  • whats her name?x

  • i have the same problem with my pony. but shes only young and will refuse to walk on when were hacking out. ive tryed schooling but she doesnt like that :/ its hard but we have started to lunge with and without tack and lunge with rider bt we havent tryed hacking just yet il let you no how she goes and maybe it might help you? :) xx

  • LOTS of ground work. long lining, play with her...stay off her back. Work her in tack, but stay off her till she can trust you more.

  • kick, pull, kick, pull. sorry.

  • You should re-train her completly and go little by little Oh and every horse is like that they have there good days and there bad

  • You should re-train her completly and go little by little

  • My first thought, could she be going blind?

  • whats her name?

  • this was pretty good you should school her over small stuff and when she refuses don look down and dont make her jump from a standstill

  • Yeah consistency! only have one or two riders for her good riders x

  • your horse is beautiful, but be patient, some horses just need an attitude adjustment, keep up the hard training and u guys will go far :D

  • have you tried following another horse through the scarey bits?

  • Try you best not to lean up her neck and stay behind her a little bit when you two are jumping, that will help ALOT! And carry a stick to smack her with when she does not do what u ask.

  • Try you best not to lean up her neck and stay behind her a little bit when you two are jumping, that will help ALOT

  • your a great rider! maybe she's just being a mare?

  • Prehaps your pony needs a little rest? Or a holiday if you like? Or prehaps just spend a few months just hacking out and doing things she enjoys!

  • try nott to pull on the reins and then kick her thts just confusing her, she is an amazing!!!! jumper

  • think iv commented on this before but what a lovely pony definatly would make some kind of top show pony :)

  • Great jumping! But maybe she has some anger against those poles... so I would do bonding, and walk on the ground with her over poles. Just like others said:) she is a great jumper!

  • Some Of These Comments Are Stupid, Cause They're Saying The Riders All Wrong. Did You Miss The Good Bits?Yess I Agree She May Be Sending Mixed Signals But That Doesn't Mean 'Sell Her' It Means LEARN To Improve. Every Horse Has To Be Ridden Differently.

  • can everyone stop being so rude!! the pony is being really well ridden, and at the end of the day, the pony has to accept the rider's signals, not the textbooks, so i think its a simple case of perseverence as they clearly know what theyre doing xxx

  • 'we want to do it to help her' no you want to do it to show her, like you said at the start... however, take the martingale off, its pissing her off a lot, and probably making her uncomfortable- thus nappy, don't use the whip incorrectly. Start from basics and get a correct contact. keep sessions short, she is bored and frustrated, hence the huffing and puffing and going backwards.

Do groundwork with her, get her used to going over the jumps off her back and make it enjoyable.

  • WE CANNOT BELIEVE THE POSTS !! Do you all not see that the horse is merely afraid of the orange/red blocks !!!!

  • tsja je kan rijden of je kan het niet

  • la chute a du faire mal

  • you need to release so it woiuld want to jump again just sayinnng

  • if i was you i would take things slowly with her

try doing small combinations of jumps just at a steady trot and try getting her soft on the bit so shes completely listening to you

and with the spooking, keep talking to her. booting her past it is only gonna make things worse. just keep yourself relaxed and slowly move her forwards, let her see it for herself

and for the mean time leave the whip, i dont really think its needed

if shes that fast jumping, dont use it!

  • You gotta take it slowly with her. Dont rush it. Do lots of bonding with her and just go slowly. Walk her up to the poles and show it to her and let her snif it. Dont yank her mouth whilst kicking her forwards. Dont force her into doing it, I know you want her to do it, but just go slowly. Everystep she will take up to the pole pat her, make her calm down if she seems scared, let her stand still for some time. She wants you to encourage her through it.

  • kick er like u mean and make sure u tell her good girl after u do something right and give her a nice long pat! or it looks like she would be a good western horse switch over to western i ride western i do gaming u can gallop and go as fast as u want! but no matter what style make sure the horse knows the did it better or they just did an extreamly good job! they might start too listen

  • it looks to me as she is unhappy doin it, my ex pony candy was sour of jumping and wud nap everywhere her owners before us use 2 jump her and school her 6 hours a day! disgusting if u ask me but wen she jumped she was unbeatable and amazing!

but i dnt think ur horse is sour i think theres sumfink wrong? cud be her back or teeth? hav her checked cuz it will be worth it in the end n if she keeps playin up then she cud be sour of just fed up or doin wat u want her 2 do maybe?

    hope that helps xx

  • your hairs too long.

  • @pinkcb71997 what the heck does that have to do with anything?

  • you have a lovely pony, she is sometimes a little bit naughty, isn't she???

  • well sat when she reared. tho i haf to agree, pulling and kicking at the same time doesunt get u anywhere.

  • Any horse that is to truely succeed in jumping has to enjoy doing it. This mare doesn't, & to be frank, you are too green of a rider to know how to make it an enjoyable experience. So, you have three options at this point:

    1. Stick with it & hope for the best.

    2. Quit jumping & try a different discipline, putting your horses preferences before your own.

    3. Sell this horse & get one that is going to like jumping as much as you do.

    It really is that simple.

  • @HoldYourHorses26 I agree, but I think option three isn't really an option at all. Selling is hardly ever the best way to go about it...

  • @horseygirl236 I agree that selling her wouldn't be taking a step to solve the problem, but there is only so much work you can put into a horse before you have to say, "I'm just not experienced enough for this situation". You have to take into consideration that the horse may very well be happier in a home with a more experienced rider, you know? Just trying to let her keep all of options open [:

  • @HoldYourHorses26 I agree with some of what you said. Has she thought of maybe getting an horse trainer in for a day? I had one for my mare and it helped no end! It may be a little expensive, but it's TOTALLY worth the money. She said in the video that she wants something that will help the horse and make her better. I just think that she will be a hard sale and to be honest, selling her often means admitting defeat. My advice is NEVER GIVE UP. It will work out in the end!

  • I have a simple answer that will sum up all of these answers. Your pony doesn't want to be jumping. Sure, you can beat her over a jump or push it on her long enough to make her do it, but take a second to look at her expression over the fence. Does she look like she is happy to be flying over a foreign object? No. It makes her nervous. But she obviously is trying very hard for you & trying to please you, but that is the only reason she is jumping at all.
