  • My god, if that's not one of the most beautiful places on earth, I don't know what is!

  • Nice to see that some people think enough of our history to save & preserve it. Homes aren't built like this anymore. It must have been a wonderful place to live.

  • Absolutely beautiful ... one of my very favorite places. Hiedi, Atlanta, GA

  • This is terrible but when I went to see the house, within minutes I was thinking, How can I live here and not get caught. Your imagination goes wild. It could be tiring but well worth the effort.

  • This is a very nice montage. Just one question...

When we visited The Biltmore Estate in 2002 photography of the interior was not permitted. Were these indoor pictures taken surreptitiously? I'm just a little envious.

  • @grabshot Glad you liked the video, the inside shots shown in the slide show are photos that were released by the biltmore estate, I was a little surprized to have found them since they donot permit inside photography,

  • Captured the real beauty of this Estate and area. Great!

  • Such a magnificent estate.

  • Gorgeous place to visit. You should go!

  • I live a couple hours away from this home. I visit there every now and again. Its so beautiful. =)

  • asheville should be the capital of north carolna......

  • great pictures, especially the ones taken in the fall. Hoep to visit one day. Thanks for putting this show up.

  • If Buncombe County Government is so great then why are they keeping peg monies meant for URTV & thus making URTV public access TV shut down in September - pure government greed is why - I urge all local citizens to come to the public hearing on June 15th at 4:30pm at #30 Valley St. in downtown Asheville -

  • West North Carolina is so fine!

  • Gorgeous flat lot for sale adjacent to the Biltmore Estate, close to the owners of the Estate, bordered by 15 acres of protected national forest near Blue Ridge Parkway.$700,000. Yvonne Smith 310.456.5930

  • Go Asheville - Go Tree Hugger Films!

  • i was near there last october going to blue ridge moutain parkway in north carolina.

  • Beautiful!

  • Looks sooooo much different in the fall. I went in the summer.

  • Thanks for showing this. Did it strike you as funny that with all of the modern conviences this large house had no sinks in the bathrooms?

  • @streetwhereulive They added ALL those sinks and bathrooms. I don't know why. It's a museum it's not like anyone goes and craps in a exhibit. ROFLMAO

  • @HMGen14 Did they just recently add them? It hasn't been that long since I was there. I wonder where they found room to put them?

  • I have been there several times. Ashville is so beautiful!

  • What was the song? It was beautiful~

  • The song is by Irene Cara and the title of the song is 'Out here on my Own' (from the movie FAME)

  • i went to biltmore 2 days ago it was huge!

  • My daughter and her family live in Asheville, and we love to visit the Biltmore Estate! Lovely grounds, and the house is unlike anything you've seen. Try having tea there sometime. : )

    Jeanne

  • Biltmore is on my list of places I want to see, I would have to spend a while because I want to see everything. It's a fantastic building with a rich history and I consider it one of the most beautiful buildings on earth.

  • I used to go there allot when I was a kid. That place is bad ass. I like the library. It kind of looks like the Sistine Chapel with the naked people painted in the ceiling. And the wine is good too!

  • yeah ive been there, that house literally has a room for everything. and theyre all huge...i think it has like 100 bathrooms or something

  • its just amazing how a generation of family actually lived there on their own back then. Imagine waking up and running down the stairs every morning.

  • imagine waking up and trying to find the stairs every morning haha is it me or does it have a very scotish feel about it even the country side

  • and they say 50' cents house is big...well look at the Vanderbilts house now and tell the world whos is bigger

  • I live near asheville and have been there a couple of times

  • I Live Near Ashville

I've Been To The House Many Time, I Just Want To Live There!!!

  • I went with my school and nit was really fun with me and my friends and i just think the house is so beautiful and the rooms and the pool, the offices, the bowling alley,it was just so muchh fun but really really cold lol:)

  • biggest and most beautiful house ever. i love visiting it.

  • I agree. I live in Utah, but make it a point to visit at least once a year.

  • I went there 2 years ago! It was awesome!!!!!!

  • 1:33 if you look at the center

of the house you can see a bigg

    smiley face :D

  • My school's Concert Choir that i'm in, we get invited to sing there annually for Christmas. It's so much fun, and the lights are amazing and the Christmas tree in side is so big that they hang tricycles from it. If you ever pick a time to see the house, chose around Christmas time so you can see all the lights.

  • when my family drove to disney this summer we made sure to stop here and it was sooooo gorgeous!!!

  • This is an amazing piece of work - makes me even more in love with Biltmore than I am already! Its sooo beautiful! I wish I owned it - it would make a great retreat for single moms, religious groups, terminally ill people etc - I could do so much with that place! It is my dream to own a place just like it!

  • LOL and lets not forget "The Private Eyes" with Don Knotts. (on second thought maybe that would be a good idea)

  • Love the house, when ever I go through Asheville I make it a point to visit. For some of you that may be interested Peter Sellers last film "Being There" was made there.

  • I loved watching 'Being There' Just to see the estate as well as the brilliant peter sellers, Biltmore estate has appeared in over 12 movies over the years a few i can remember are: Patch Adams,Richie Rich, Hannibal, My fellow americans, Mr destiny, and an interesting fact i came across- The biltmore house was first seen on the BIG SCREEN in 1952 when 'The Swan' starring GRACE KELLY was filmed there (a scene or a portion of the movie) This would be the last movie that grace kelly made.....

  • @BEARTRAP037 = How cool!

  • We have a MINIATURE version of the BILTMORE ESTATE in ROWAN COUNTY(THE CASTLE) THAT is what I like to SHOW OFF to those jus pass'n thru.....

  • Littlesumptin said it for me. I do not reside in the area but I am a NC native . I AM PROUD of its MAGNIFICENT BEAUTY and ARCHITECTURE I may never get to take grandmother to see the leaves, now she will get to see them. Everyone's definiton of PARADISE is different, I love the emerald ocean waters of FLORIDA and our own HOME SPLENDOR...HEAVEN ON EARTH....ASHEVILLE NC. "Where your altitude determines your attitude" I JUST WANNA SAY THANKS ! BEARTRAP.

  • Use to live in the area and loved visiting the house and surrounding area may want to spend some of my retirement there.

Without Vanderbilt's support there probably wouldn't be much of a park or foresty program in the U.S today.

  • Wonderful. Thank you for depicting my home town so beautifully.

  • Beautiful, and I recognize the music it's from the song "out here on my own" by Irene Cara from the movie "Fame"

  • YEP that's the song, many have asked what it was, you were the only one who knew it,I tried many songs before i found that one, but this one just fit the montage..

  • American decadence and a symbol of how selffish the rich and wealthy were. Burn this house down to the ground.

  • yea as we have sent billions over seas to help people that hate us

  • I love this place. I always wanted to be a gardener there. Watched your suicide video too-- those guys needed to get more people on the lifting of the bag you can hurt your back- I am an EMT. I liked the use of color change on the sunset as narrative. You use music well in the making of your films.

  • Just wanted to thank you for your kind words regarding the video and music used in the video, that made my day! so many times i approach a project and one of the hardest things is to get the right music for the scene, thanks again Jeff

  • i went there about 2 years ago and i really want to go back because it was just so amazing. We got a special tour so me and my mom got to see the hole house not just the rooms they allow you to see.
