Eleven "thumbs down" for my previous comment? Can't believe so many are willing to risk security & privacy on the slim chance of gaining £20. Would you accept my claim of good intentions while I searched through your pockets in public places? If not, why accept such claims from self-admitted thieves? Only that prevents things being removed from your person during all this. My pockets & bags belong solely to me (my private property) and are not open to others for any reason without permission.

These are thieves, so I'm highly skeptical. Seems a nice way of conditioning people to delay once a pickpocket is detected. Those few moments, while victims try to determine if money was given or taken, is all the time needed for pickpockets to make an escape. I don't want others in my pockets (bags, etc) for any reason - to put in (camera may offer too much temptation) or take out. As far as I'm concerned, either is a crime & police should take action to stop it.
