  • Oh no, I was insulted on YouTube. Boo-fucking hoo. Though I do have to admit, the crack about Huntie's wife was a little low. I actually don't know what she even looks like.

My mom's basement? Really? I live in my mom's attic, and it has a wonderful view!

  • Huntie: "I'm an insecure, terrible filmaker who can't can't handle the fact that there are people who don't appreciate my magnum opus of guys running around in duct tape holloween cosumes and Godzilla jizzing out his chest, so I have to stay here on YouTube all night reminding everyone I'm having sex with my ass-ugly wife! And please be sure to see my special tribute to MYSELF and her on my account!"

My attack from Huntie will be a badge of honor for myself.

  • There isn't an 'I hate Huntie' fan-club. There's a "I don't like Huntie's Film" Fanclub though.

But your attitude is likely to get an I hate Huntie fanclub started up. I wouldn't join it though. I find you more entertaining than anything else. Just not on purpose.

  • Honestly, I'd love to get along as fellow fanfilmmakers but my inability to worship your every move and actually offer criticism seems to get in the way of that. Alas.

  • It's actually a nice group, I heard they get badges. I'll review the film later since I ain't seen it yet.

  • iejmem: "Robert Daltrey fan, Bigfoot believer and all around fag."

  • Well done for 30 minutes. It touches on an interesting message, but I'm not sure what that message is actually supposed to be. I don't know anything about film, but the way the camera moved gave a really interesting feel to it. The music gave it a kind of lighthearted feel to it, like a commercial. GitS bag ftw.

  • You certainly don't have to listen to us if that's what really makes you feel sassy. However, the general consensus I've heard from people I know who have seen the film is that it is very confusing and they have no idea what is going on. I've even noticed that your biggest supporters sometimes aren't clear on many of the film's plot points without you explaining them.

My friend, that means your film isn't doing its job properly.

  • Maybe this will surprise you but I don't criticize Kaiju Killer out of some deep-rooted jealousy of your projects or because of some personal grudge I hold against you. Not at all. I criticize Kaiju Killer because I honestly WANTED to like it. I'm a Godzilla fan, so I want to enjoy projects involving Godzilla. As I am a filmmaker myself and would like to think I know something about the art, I offer criticism in hopes that it could better this or future projects by you. That's how it works.

  • I should be proud of Mr. Frye's accomplishment?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not really sure what you're trying to get at here. The only benefits to filming at GFest are getting other fans involved as extras and potential cameos from people like Don Frye. In reality, filming at GFest is an annoying, stressful, and after this past year's filming (for a different episode) I don't think I want to ever film there again if I can help it.

Anyway, never did I say that filming at GFest somehow made me a better filmmaker than you are, so I'm not sure what your point is.

  • Comment removed

  • Funny, your point IS about as confusing as your film.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, see, I wasn't actually joking. I still don't see the relevance of my film being made at GFest to the overall quality (or lack thereof) of my film or yours. Really, it was more of a detriment to the final product than anything else but I'd like to think it turned out fairly well for being almost entirely unplanned.

  • I have to admit, I was quite confused while watching your film Huntie.

In Sorta, I at least understood what was happening. GvsKK and Sorta are completely different in tone, so I don't know if comparing them is quite kosher.

About this video: It was made in 30 minutes. My wants to improve it would be to have less time lapse and a finished product at the end that's fucking legible. But, that being said, the narrative aspect is less confusing than GvsKK. Overall not better, but less confusing

  • Comment removed

  • I turned it off, so no, not really.

  • Comment removed

  • I actually disagree with you on that one.

I really don't understand your hate toward this dumb little 30 minute film practice. Given that it was made in 30 minutes, I think it's quite impressive. And I'm a little better of an editor because of it.

Does this film make you scream in agony or something? Or are you just attacking me personally? I've heard you have a shitty attitude, and while I know this film isn't amazing... I don't quite think it's horrible.

    What are you doing?

  • Comment removed

  • For the record, I am also totally self-taught in film.

Someone here ought to learn some humility, methinks.

  • Comment removed

  • Are you also self-taught in hypocrisy? :)

  • Please tell me how I am being hypocritical.

  • "I critisize to help you Huntie. That's all it is. I truly want what's best for you." Stop being such a sanctimonious little prick. Take your humility schtick and shove it up your ass Mr. "Our points stand as worthy critisicms." Says who? The group of people you circle jerk on an internet forum? Your elitist butt buddies who think their opinion of the Godzilla franchise and what it should be is the correct one? Nothing valid about that never-ending BS. Stop placating your own narrow views.

  • While it's not to my personal taste, Huntie's take on the franchise has nothing to do with my major criticisms of his film. I'm definitely not a fan of the "grimdark" tone Kaiju Killer has but my biggest issues are the lack of coherence to the plot and the lack of scale to the monster battles. Those are purely filmmaking issues.

  • We (and in the case of the first one, "I") put the Sorta episodes together in 3 months and 8 months for 1 and 2, respectively. When you take out the time spent doing other things like school and work, they were more like 1 month and 4 months-worth of work and were, for the most part, improvised on the fly. Kaiju Killer took you three years to create, I should certainly hope you have better-looking props and costumes than we did on those two films.

  • Comment removed

  • No need to emphasize because it's the exact same way for us. We've had several months fly past us in working on the new Sorta episodes.

  • That's not hypocritical, that just comes with being an artist. When I create any sort of work, film, art, or otherwise, I fully expect and hope that people will offer criticism. Tear it apart - tell me what works, what doesn't work, etc. One takes these things into account and then hopefully learns from them and becomes a better artist as a result.

That's how the art and film world works. That's why there are countless forums and classes dedicated to giving and receiving criticism.

  • No, it is hypocritical. You can't whine about going through all kinds of hurdles to create your plastic-masked, Ultraman spin-off wearing...if I remember correctly...a jacket you picked up in the women's section of some store...then turn around and then say you didn't feel the shoe-string struggles of Chris over there we're any good. That is hypocrisy, like it or not Captain Pretentious.

  • The hurdles were in the composited effects and editing, not the costumes. The costumes were extremely slapdash because the films were almost totally improvised. I never said my costumes were better than Huntie's - he totally put a lot more work into his, I will not deny that. However, people I know have generally found my Sorta videos far more entertaining and coherent than Kaiju Killer and, again, the incoherance of its plot has been my biggest complaint with his film.

  • If I were to compare GxKK to an official Godzilla film it would be Final Wars. They both have some great ideas and concepts on paper and the films have their moments but the overall execution fails to be entertaining.

  • Well atleast my film can be compared to the actual Godzilla series! I feel honored, your film on the other hand...

  • I'm a big fan of your veiled humbleness. "Huntie did a great job BUT...people I know think my stuff is more coherent and such. I'm not a fan of dark Godzilla films." I think you're having a problem looking past what YOU think a Godzilla film SHOULD be and tossing out the artistic interpretation of another. News flash: That's not how it works.

  • I did look past the tone and tried to assess the film based on its merits as simply a film and it didn't hold up. Again, I had very little idea as to what was going on with the plot until the exposition at the end and even then I still wasn't clear on what I had just seen. That has nothing to do with the tone of Kaiju Killer being dark, that's just bad screenwriting.

  • Let me try and explain the plot to you in a way you can understand then:

Stock Kaiju Film Scientist: Dear god, this spaceman is hunting down a supersoldier he created that's gone AWOL!

Stock Kaiju Film Child Smarter Than An Adult: Yes! But the soldier has Stalkus and he's been released after their ships crash!

Should I put it in that format for the duration of the debate so you can understand better, friend?

  • This kinda makes my point. The plot you just explained doesn't make any sense. Nor does it give me any reason to care.

  • I don't take it that seriously - I just think it's an inane comment.

  • Oooooo, witty!

  • The lack of scale to the monster battles? Oh snap! I didn't know it was like that man! Why didn't you say so? Maybe there should have been more pyro going off and buildings collapsing on a shoe string budget. Maybe he can take a positive example from all the epic scaled fights in your fi...uh, hold on...I just have to find them here...

  • Are you self taught in stupidity? Wait, I'd better answer that for you, it's a hard one! The answer is YES! Yes you are!

  • Comment removed

  • It's not that I can't take it. I can take it. If I couldn't take it I'd have blocked you by now.

I'm only questioning whether or not you actually do lose sleep over my review and this is your way of taking it out on me. If so, then fine. I can use a humbling opinion around, but eventually you'll lose your merit.

  • Comment removed

  • Again, irrelevant. Are you trying to make us jealous or something? Because I have a lovely girlfriend myself and I find it hard to care that you have a hot wife. I'm happy for you and all but I fail to see why this is important to the discussion.

  • Comment removed

  • I could tell some sex stories for your reference, but it wouldn't really make any difference. But we'll just say the idea isn't foreign and I don't know why you brought that up.

I actually think your wife is a 6.5 or 7. Which is a good score i guess.

  • Comment removed

  • Clearly, you don't know me.

Are we just having a pissing contest or are you talking about my film?

  • Comment removed

  • And yet despite having said babe of a wife you'd rather waste your time having an argument with said fandom? You need to get your priorities straight, sir.

  • Comment removed

  • You can inflate your own already considerably inflated ego all you want, Huntie, but the fact remains you are so utterly incapable of taking criticism that your only response is to throw a tantrum all over Youtube

If I can say any nice thing about your fanfilm it's that you had some very good FX early on with the space craft. After that it's a long boring pretentious pile. At least the creators of Ultraman Sorta have a sense of humor and understand that less is more. They're fun little videos

  • I have no clue who mouth4war or somethin is but if your paranoid delusions have convinced you that I am that guy/girl/somethin I guess there's nothing I can do to convince you otherwise.

  • Nah just a friend of Dai's.

  • Everyone let's just get our anger out and then hold hands afterward.

Huntie, it's just becoming obvious that this is personal, and honestly quite immature on your part. It's been fun. Honestly neither one of us have great work on the internet yet. I guess we'll talk later.

  • YEAH CHRIS. YEAH! YOUR FILM SUCKS! It didn't even have a fancy pants scientist explaining the major plot points to me. It definately could of used that fancy pants scientist with a powerful pipe! You're finished in this fan film business...because the elitist fags at Monster Zero said so! You'll never compete with the artistic likes of Daika-what's-his-face's "Ultraman Abortion vs. The Dollar Store Alien Halloween Costume at G-Fest " film, you stupid douche. You make me sick.

  • About the people who gave your movie 5 stars ratings... how do their resume compare to the likes of Spielberg or Scorsese? I like to see their resumes and some of their work before I trust those ratings, yeast... I mean Huntie.

  • You should probably know that my opinion is kinda tame compared to most of the people on ClubTokyo. I don't really know anyone who likes your fanfilm to be honest. And I'd rather you didn't plug your shitfest on my videos, plzkthx.

  • Granted, Dante's YouTube videos are not particularly impressive. This is true. That said, his points and the points that your other critics (including myself) are making still stand as worthy criticism and I feel that you're being extremely childish in taking such a snide attitude towards them.
