Oh yeah, don't talk about realism for either side. In a real war, you need medics, cover, suppressive fire, breaching, and one shot is generally it or just breaks your ceramic plates needed to spread out the bullet's force. For halo, marines wouldn't normally survive being shot in the face by an assault rifle 15 times and why do the Spartans ARMOR don't provide protection.

Not many people know that if you hold down the trigger, you can actually turn the grenade into a remote detonated mine. So long as the button is held down, it won't explode. Although it explodes instantly once you release it.

@dancid82 I really wouldnt try starting anything until Black Ops is released, after seeing mp vids and hearing Hutch comment on it the game looks like it will destroy every other game. There is no reason to boost cause no nuke and if they do boost have it in theatre mode they get banned, same for hackers. It takes much more bullets to kill some it can take half a clip sometimes, no overpowered guns cause all weapons are balanced with same types. SAM turret destroys anything in air

Cod black ops is just another cod. Remember how mw2 was hyped up so much about getting ac130's and what not. Those thongs ended up ruining the game. @darthryking so how does this take skill? the UNSC grenade launcher can be bounced off walls and can be chose when to explode, the Plasma Launcher locks on to a target and can easily blow up a vehicle if you fire 4 stickies. The grenade launcher in MW2 can carry a max of 2 shots at a time, it shoots straight forward with a arc and blows on contact or if to close it wont blow and could just impacts you. I agree the MW2 grenade launcher does need a smaller explosion and it would be alot less nooby

Take most other grenade launchers for example. Most of the time, all you need to aim in more or less the general direction and you pretty much killed a bunch of people.

The Reach GL requires that you either time the explosion manually (there's actually a slight delay to it), or you can attempt to hit the target directly, which is harder to do. If you are off by just a bit, it will miss and bounce, and explode somewhere waaay off your intended target, and not really do much.

@darthryking In MW2 you do need to consider the arc or else you couldnt miss, in BC2 its the same thing except the grenade launchers explosion radius is less and is much harder to use then the MW2 one. With the UNSC GL it is very easy to shoot around a corner and kill someone, but the Plasma Launcher's lock on and 4 stickies at once does make it a noob tube. But the UNSC GL is not a noob tube

UNSC GL clearly is not a noob-tube, I agree; though you would need to kind of know beforehand where the target is around the corner before using the launcher. I've had so many kills hampered by being a few feet off and damaging their shields without actually killing them.....

Damn, in the beta this noob tube was overpowered. You can see in this video that it can easily take down a tank with one shot.

@MrFlopz I admit, I did say it could destroy a tank in one shot, but I meant it renders the tank useless. You can see in this video that one direct shot it fully disabled a Wraith. I was up to date with Bungie.net while the Beta was up and I found numerous threads involving the Grenade Launcher and it's EMP. They even said this in one of their Bungie Weekly Updates. It wasn't even meant to be a power weapon, and it doesn't need the EMP to destroy vehicles, in the right hands that is.

@SILLYJIMMY5 I don't think they were implying that they were taking out the EMP since the EMP is the main point of the manual detonation. I think they were just saying that it isn't needed to kill a vehicle. You can immobilize a tank, but the main gun is still active as well as the gunner seat so it isn't a free kill at that point. Plus, I think this gun is supposed to give you a chance when vehicles get out of hand. It's a vehicle killer, but not a power weapon. Similar to the Brute Shot.

I think GOW 3 will change that, every game has it's bad side buddy, in modern warfare 2 the grenade launcher is too powerful and EVERYONE is using it all the time. Besides the shotgun in gow 2 is lever action not full auto matic and the shot has to be really close and dead on target or you wont kill the enemy and in halo you can mod a lot an there are a lot of gay wall walker with lag switches. Gears of War takes a little bit more strategy. hopefully they will fix the whole host thing this time.

I don't know whether I should like this weapon or hate it. I think it's really cool they have a human grenade launcher (even better if they put a GL attachment for the assault rifle like Halo Custom Edition), I like the trigger delayed detonation secondary fire, and I like how it's design is almost like a shotgun.

But why does the grenade bounce before exploding? Real grenade launchers shoot to explode on impact. The Brute Shot doesn't have this either.
