The whole movie will basically be an allegory for Prometheus; for how we will be forced to move toward a higher level of understanding, and ultimately take back our lives from the indoctrinated, contrived social-paradigms and values by which we victimize each other, maintained by the powerful, oligarchical priesthoods of the elite upper-classes. That or it will simply be about gorillas whipping sledgehammers at hairless, tail-less, blunted-toothed, upright walking humans. Win-win scenario imo.

Wow, I can't believe all of the responses! For those who point out the flaws I made earlier, I apologize. It's just that I remain skeptical of whether or not this film will work and plus, the CG on the apes are just too noticable and are just not Na'vi like convincing to me. Hopefully, the movie can be more like X-Men: First Class and not like X-Men Origins: Wolverine

From what we have seen in the trailer, there are only 3 canisters so far and at best they will at least affect the ape population in the small thousands at least but how big is the ape population on the planet? If it's significantly smaller than the humans, then I would laugh at the stupidity of us humans when we should have just shoot them all in the head and/or heart and be done with them

uhmm i dont think this is how the planet of the apes started. I think the original storyline was that humans destroyed their civilization through nuclear warfare and apes naturally evolved as humans devolved, thats why in the original Charleton Heston says "We finally really did it. You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you. God damn you all to hell!" in front of the statue of liberty because he realizes that it was earth all along. So this story is irrelevant.

@serbin16m Yes, the original story WAS that it was nuclear war that did us in. However, to keep things current, it was decided to make the "end of civilization" due to a virus that spread everywhere and wiped out the humans, which resulted in the apes becoming stronger and more abundant. If you watched the very end of the film, after the closing credits start to roll, it shows you how the virus was spread throughout the world and rather quickly.

Have you ever heard of the terms, execution and suspension of disbelief? It works on all types of fiction and when done right, it can be amazing and can be forgiven for the ridiculousness it spurns, but when done wrong, it can be quite disastrous.
