  • Have you thought about using cold shoes instead of hot shoes? That would work, correct?

  • why dont you use buy 2 strips of velco and put the PWII on the side of the 580EX

  • @evisonjames i like that one! nice!

  • Very helpful... I was having a problem with my 580exs and the pocket wizard...now I know it was because of the contact with the mounting...thanks!

  • This is good info. But I don't understand why you are infront of your computer doing this vid instead of spending time with your family?

  • Thanks for keeping me in check Jonne! The truth is, I spent way too much time researching pocket wizard mounting solutions, and so I was hoping to save some others from doing the same - especially those other photographers with families.

  • awesome video...pow!

  • We usually velcro the PW to the side of the flash. The only problem is that you cant really turn the flash head to the left when mounted. It is not usually a issue since I have a Gary Fong mounted most of time.

  • excellent bit of information.

    Thanks man!

    (So, what was for dinner?)

  • Awsome Video..Kool Tips..Thx.

  • Just a quick TIP for ya, Instead of using a piece of business card sliding under your flash just cute a small piece of electrical tape and place it on the metal hot shoe base ! It never comes off and you don't have to worry about SLIDING business card pieces on it all the time ;)

  • Good stuff man.

  • you both are so cute :D

  • what's that big white thing near the end? was that an umbrella of some sort? really, really cute baby too.

  • I feel like most of those options and either look completely ridiculous or would hinder use of the vertical grip. I just got a 3' pc sync cord and the pocket wizzard clips onto my quatum battery on my belt. supper cheap and easy to reattach to a second body. that just my imput. but good job

  • I work for a photographer who shoots canon, wait did shoot canon. We are switching to nikon because we are sick of the canon flashes not firing. I'm not biased toward canon or nikon, but i'm switching to nikon too! i just ordered a nikon d700 of amazon, and my boss is getting the d3 and d300. i cant wait to get my d700! i think i'll be the only 16 year old with one!!! glad to see these tips thou! pocket wizards are lifesavers.

  • good video

  • What is the name of the device at 3:11? the multiuse device?

  • it didn't have an official name - just something generic like "strobe tripod adapter". sorry, i know that's not very helpful!

  • It's all good, thanks anyway. Nice vid.

  • Thanks for the useful info. I was going to rate you 4 stars cause the video quality was so-so...and then instead of getting in trouble for making a video and not helping with dinner, you were hand delivered a beer...so I was going to give you 5 stars...and then I knocked off 1 star when you said it was pumpkin ale...and then at the end your wife (?) brought your dinner to you...so 5 stars it is! lol

  • That's hilarious! I know the quality was crap - I just ordered an actual video camera and I'll probably redo this vid and make it a little quicker and to the point. As for pumpkin ale - it's seasonal man - got to have it :) Thanks for the great comment!

  • I am sure you could not have known this...but I suffer from something that some experts refer to as "severe pocketwizard envy". So when you held you PW up to the camera, I tried to grab it and subsequently knocked my Imac over. It's ok....you could not have known. Hopefully I will soon be able to afford a set of my own. Anyway, thanks for the reply and keep making videos for those of us anxious to learn. Take care!
