i have one of these and it is a very tiny baby.i was just wondering what they eat i had him from a hatchling and he wont eat anything ands its been 2 months since i got him

I just got a hatchling northern diamondback and was wondering if you've found them to have a different diet than other turtles.  I read somewhere that they are more carnivorous. thanks

@sjellybean89 yep you are correct they are certainly more carnivorous and its rare you will ever see them eat veggies. My one female on takes live food and nothign else. She refuses to eat anything not living. Almost all diamondback though from hatchlings will take pellets.

I am a turtle collector as well and i purchased my first two diamondbacks and they are similar to yours just very tiny. My question is are they fine in fresh water? i love these little guys and i am looking for some advice to keep them healthy. I forgot to ask the guy i bought them from if it was fresh water or brackish. I purchased them at the reptile expo in Lancaster, Pa. Thanks for your time Awesome turtles by the way!!!

@purplegt22 haha, you bought them from bruce, delaware turtles. He is a very good friend of mine and actually the same guy i bought most mine from. The diamondbacks are raised in a freshwater pond. So yes freshwater is fine always.

@9912699125 all wood makes the water brown because they have a thing called tannins in it. Once that leached out of the wood it wont turn the water brown anymore. That takes about a week or two.

pretty cool. id like to take my RES outside for the summer but i dont think my parents would let me.  almost 3" now. and in the 65. hell yea. how big of a container is that? it looks like a decent size

@Rsour4Life Its not that big gallon wise but its length is a little bit smaller then a 75gallon and width is wider then a 75gallon tank. Im going to make a new video. I added on one of those preformed waterfalls to it and added plants to the waterfall. So these plants can grow and act as a form of filtration. Plus with added water it keeps water temps down
