  • Where is Al Pacino and Marlon Brando?

  • john goodman sounds just like philip seymore hoffman

  • where is the biggest of all i mean AL PACINO what shit upload are this philoshopher fuck you and your coulture morron fuckin asshole stupid litl shit

  • I'd personally include Liam Neeson or Ralph Fiennes for their portrayals in Schindler's list...

  • no macauley culkin??

  • even out of context, i burst out laughing when john goodman said "donny, shut the fuck u- when do we play?"

  • Philip Seymour Hoffman, even though he won an Oskar, I still think he's one of the most underrated actors right now. Deserves a lot more!

  • @Skoshtwo Agreed. He was fantastic in this past year's Ides of March.

One of my favorite performances of his was in Synedoche, New York

  • @Skoshtwo very underrated actor, very true

  • I don´t like your taste, but it´s your opinion. This is my top 10: 1 Johnny Depp - Ed Wood 2 Martin Landau - Bela Lugosi 3 Al Pacino - Lefty 4 Robert De Niro - Jake Lamotta 5 Benicio Del Toro - Gonzo 6 Michael Keaton - Beetlejuice 7 Johnny Depp - Raoul Duke 8 Leonardo DiCaprio - Arnie Grape 9 Muzaffer Ozdemir - Mahmut 10 Marlon Brando - The Godfather
  • WHERE IN THE FUCK IS DANIEL DAY-LEWIS

  • @gobamarama2008 I know right?

  • Daniel Day Lewis - There will be Blood!!

  • @abdulmuhyemin Oh fuck yeah I think about it !

  • jack nicholson, in one flew over the cuckoo's nest should be here , as should james stewart's role as george bailey , in it's a wonderful life and adrien brody's role in the pianist . i agree with two of the top 10 at a push

  • I think that Blade Runner and The Dark Knight are two of the most infamously overrated films of all time, so I have a hard time taking either of the performances in those films seriously as a top 10.

  • @degree7 if it goes to dark knight i agree personally dont really like it, but blade runner is a genious movie if u can look beyond the visuals, and think what is it about. recomend a book "do androids dream of electric sheep? " maybe it will clear the movie for ya ;]

  • @mamorochi

It's precisely because the book is so much better that I do not enjoy the film. It leaves a lot to be desired as an adaptation.

  • @degree7 sorry for misjudging you then, happy to see that there are people out there that can appreciate some smart thing in life and not only trivial and accepted-by-everyone stereotypes. Although this is about acting not movies in general, therefore in my opinion for example that scene in court by Tracy has been re-acted many times by many skilled actors in a different manner but same motive. And Howards dying scene couldnt be topped by anyone or played better ;)

  • sorry but all hats down for blade runner scene. Anybody else noticed that forehead twitch when he says "tears" ? and that distant look on his face ? i dont even want to begin to try thinking where did Hauer went that moment !! Acting magnificence

  • If Day Lewis in There will Be Blood isn't in your top ten then you havnt seen the movie.

  • You mean John Goodman as John Goodman

  • @MCharliex haha I scrolled down saw this and just thought 'by definition this list is instantly drivel'!!

  • GAY AS FUCK

  • fact, the lines "YOU TALKIN' TO ME ???" and so on.... the whole dialogue, was UNSCRIPTED.

robert deniro made up those lines on the spot !!!!!

thumbs up so that everyone can see this !!

  • i would like to see marlon brandos

  • Great choice having Ricardo Montalban's Khan

  • Rename this video 10 great acting performances or something like that because you have left out loads in everybodies opinion, some I think you left out are Marlin Brando in Apocalypse Now, De Niro in Raging Bull and Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot. It's just a lot safer to not name your video top 10.

  • No Will Smith??

  • I'll respect every entry (including Ledger being #1, which is surprising) except for The Big Lebowsky one, which is completely out of place in a list like this one.

  • How is Kevin Spacey's performance in The Usual Suspects better than his performance in American Beauty and horrible #1 choice

  • Where is ''Say Hello to my little friend!''!

  • Ricardo 'Welcome To Funtasy Island' Montalban? Oh come on.

Now if you had William Shatner screaming 'KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN'!....THAT'S acting.

  • well this is what I think .. 1. Marlon Brando - in 'The last Tango in Paris' 2. Al Pacino - in 'Scent Of A Woman' 3. Kevin Spacey - in 'The Usual Suspect' 4. Robert De Niro - in 'Taxi Driver' 5. Robert De Niro - in 'Mean Streets' 6. Jack Nicholson - in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' 7. Daniel Day-Lewis - in 'There Will Be Blood' 8. Sean Benn - in 'Mystic River' 9. Dustin Hoffman - in 'Rain Man' 10. Anthony Hopkins - in 'The Silence Of The Lamps'
  • @yazeed4 Robert De Niro's 'Mean Streets'? Seriously? Over Max Cady's 'Cape Of Fear'? "I am like God, and God like me. I am as large as God, He is as small as I. He cannot above me, nor I beneath Him be." And you're telling me Mean Streets is better than that fucking powerful line...any of his mafia roles is better than Mean Streets. Raging Bull? No? ROBERT DE NIRO IS GOD, and not because of Mean Streets.

  • @panetero I Agree, OK. and I'm not trying to compare his role in 'Mean Streets' with any of his other legendary roles. All what I'm saying is I've seen a lot of movies, but I've never seen anything like Johnny boy in 'Mean Streets' the character itself was the first of it kind. Silly, ridiculous, liar, sleazy, fraudulent, phony and a coward..and lots of other things gathered to create the magnificent Johnny boy. and sorry about my grammar I know it's awful.

  • @panetero his character in Mean Streets is his second most iconic role. Ever actor who has played a no good hood punk shares a direct lineage from Johnny Boy, and there have been a lot of them. Its also his most explosive and uninhibited role, something he isn't really known for (Pacino territory). Also the fact that most of his funniest lines and mannerisms where improvised by him is an added bonus.

  • @panetero thats true!! bob is a god!

  • well i agree with some...but khan??? the big lebowski ummmm not sure bout that

  • Nice choices, although I was a little suprised you didn't have Joe Pesci and his scene from Goodfellas, "What am I, a clown? am I here to make you laugh? am I here to ****ing amuse you?" but that one is pretty well known and I'm glad you picked some lesser well known ones like like Spencer Tracy from 'Inherit The Wind' (IMHO that film should be mandatory viewing at any film school)

  • i hate it when people say 'look it's fred flintstone!'

  • I really like the diversity in your choices, and the inclusion of some of the more obscure performances. I hope Gary Oldman gets nominated for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy next year

Performances i'd include just off the top of my head would be

DDL in There Will Be Blood

Michael Clarke Duncan in The Green Mile

Marlon Brando in Streetcar Named Desire

Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird

Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs

Forrest Whitaker in Last King of Scotland

  • Thank you - I'd never seen Inherit the Wind, but this was certainly an epic speech on the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion. A great reminder from history that Fundamentalist Creationism et al has gained more ground today than it ever had 100 years ago. (odd isn't it, considering everyone seems to think that's how our forefathers used to think) but I digress. What I wanted to say, was thank you for showing me that because I now want to watch that film for it's awesome acting!!

  • Daniel day lewis!!! he's god of acting

  • where's samuel l. jackson from the movie pulp fiction? :D

  • the fact that u had goodman from big lebowski makes this my favorite list yet

  • Where's DeNiro in raging bull ? Jack Nicholson in one flew over the cuckoo's nest ? Pacino in the godfather part II? Brando in The Godfather?

  • "You talkin' to me?" Fantastic!

  • john goodman doing walter sobchak is the best act of all time.

  • Yaaay Gary!! I could never make one of these lists because every spot would be taken up by his perfrmances :P

  • Checkout Gary Oldman in The Firm

  • not bad, but too many supporting performances My list 1) De Niro, Taxi Driver 2) O'Toole, Lawrence of Arabia 3) Brando, On The Waterfront 4) Hackman, The Conversation 5) Pacino, Dog Day Afternoon 6) Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood 7) Nicholson, The Last Detail 8) Guinness, Kind Hearts and Coronets 9) Burton, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf 10) Bogart, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
  • where is THE BIGGEST ACTOR AL PACINO ? are you drunk?

  • For me the greatest performance of all time is that of Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia !

  • 8:30 No doubt - One of the best acting performances seen in the whole world's history! And Gary Oldman is also a fantastic actor!

I am just missing Johnny Deep as Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" movies!

  • Comment removed

  • The choice is arguably interesting, like any of this sort, but bravo for Hauer and Oldman ! both of them fantastic !

  • @jounihat Did you miss the part at the beginning of the video where it says "Top 10 Favorite MALE Acting Performances"?

  • @TheEquityDiversity

Yeah, sorry, I missed that because the title didn't say it and I was watching other videos at the same time. My mistake.

  • @TheEquityDiversity You're obviously female.

  • @LukeNAESA10 How did you come to that conclusion? I'd suggest looking at my other videos.

  • @jounihat well, to be honest, if someone listed the real top 10 performances ever, there sure as hell wouldn't be any bitches on the list. Deal with it white knight.

  • @jounihat Idiot.

  • @jounihat shut your bitch ass mouth,bitch

  • @jounihat 'actresses' is sexist and not used anymore. they are all actors.

  • rutger hauer is so good in that role. If there was ever one scene to make a whole movie good to me, it was that one. Wow

  • @supernuke

Propably did, because the title of the video says "Top 10 Acting Performances".

  • I disagree with this video/opinion completely. This is what I think:

    1. Charlton Heston as Judah Ben-Hur [Ben-Hur (1959)]

    2. Rex Harrison as Professor Henry Higgins [My Fair Lady (1964)]

    3. Marlon Brando as Terry Malloy [On The Waterfront (1954)]

    4. F. Murray Abraham as Antonio Salieri [Amadeus (1984)]

    5. Ben Kingsley as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi [Gandhi (1982)]

    6. George C. Scott as Gen. George S. Patton Jr. [Patton (1970)]

    7. Bing Crosby as Father Chuck O'Malley [Going My Way (1944)]

  • @fbibreaker14 Nice choices on Scott and Kingsley. I'm not a big fan of Brando. I like Heston and Scott in those roles. Haven't seen "My Fair Lady" in about ten years, and have never seen "Going My Way" from front to back.

  • @TheEquityDiversity Really not a big fan of brando? Possibly the top 3 actors of all time. Yeah same. Those top two are my two favourite performances of all time. Ah fair enough. Really? get on it, quality film going my way and a great performance by crosby.

  • @fbibreaker14 and they all happened to win best actor oscars, something smells fishy.

  • @kingcaesar5 oh wow, good spot. they did too

  • 1:22 - Gösser Bier is my favourite!

  • Joker as number 1 is great but where is marlon brando in Apocolypse Now!!??

  • i love the fact that you include john goodman.

  • THESE WERE OUTSTANDING CHOICES OF DIVERSE PERFORMANCES. THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • Gary Oldman in the Professional where he plaed coked-up, fucking crazy police detective - he was absolutely briliant, as always.

  • GARBAGE DAY!!!!!!!!!

  • Eric Bana - Chopper, Al pacino - Godfather 2, Ben Kingsley - Sexy Beast

  • Lovely that you put the bladerunner scene in, i enjoyed that.

  • This video lost all credibility once I didnt see Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump

  • KEVIN SPACEY & ROBERT DENIRO (Y) (Y) (Y)

  • I think Marlon Brando "coulda been a contenda".

    Robert Shaw in 'Jaws'

Almost anything by Gene Hackman or Sean Connery.

  • Gary Oldman can be ANYONE

  • george c scott as patton? just a idea

  • I think DiCaprio in The Departed should have maybe taken the place of Ricardo Montalban

  • @iPLAYgb - DiCaprio's ok....but no Ricardo Montalban!

  • where is Alonzo Harris from training day

  • Omg... Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner YEEES!!!

  • Dustin Hoffman - Rain man

  • One of the best acting jobs in a movie most people have never seen: David Thewlis in "Naked"

  • Robert De Niro - Raging Bull

  • AMERICAN HISTORY X!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • All ten of these should just be daniel day lewis

  • @GSheppo92 YOU got that right...Best actor ever and by far IMO.

  • Daniel day lewis in There Will Be Blood blows heath ledger out of the water, even though ledger was outstanding.

  • @1992gabe yet comparing them is kind of like comparing apples and oranges... They are so different.

  • You are forgetting Ricardo's groundbreaking performance in The Naked Gun!

  • Ricardo Montalban? oh... come on!

  • Deffinently agree with The Big Labowski and The Usual Suspects!

  • Good stuff, I especially the more obscure ones, or at least the ones that didn't win Oscars. Some of my favs are Walken in The Dead Zone, Russell Crowe in Romperstomper, and Keitel in Bad Lieutenant. Also funny you had S. Tracey and K. Spacey in there, because that's how Kevin Spacey got his stage name. Spencer Tracey/Spacey.

  • @BrotherBadSeed I had no idea about the Tracey/Spacey connection ... that's awesome.

I think the most obscured one is Gary Oldman in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. It's such a great character study with two great actors (Oldman & Roth), but Oldman steals the show.

  • @TheEquityDiversity I read on Wikipedia that the Spacey name wasn't derived from Spencer Tracey. It cites the source as an interview with Kevin Spacey where he says that his name is Welsh.

  • @BrotherBadSeed as interesting as that story is, Spacey's mother's maiden name was Spacey.

  • excellent list
