actually it works great, every now and then it might miss one click but overall its a great mouse, most of my original complaints I'm over, but my track ball did just stop working which is apparently a known issue :(
oh about the pairing problem.. yes it does take awhile for it to pair when you turn on the mighty mouse.. here's a tip.. once you turn it on.. click the mighty mouse 3 times and it should pair instantaneously.
It's a good mouse.. just takes time to get used to. Not recommended for gaming... but does the job for other computing tasks.
I have noticed that clicking the mouse makes it pair faster. I just had the batteries die for the first time a few days ago, I put this vid up on May 30th so this mouse really is very energy efficient! But yes, its not the most comfy mouse for gaming, my ball is not clogged up, other than that I've grown to be happy with it! Thanks!
oh about the batteries... they last long only with the energizer lithium batts. They won't last as long with other types of batteries.
Only other thing i don't like is the dirt clogging up on the top shell. Dirt is always an issue and it can cause the track ball to stop responding. It happens pretty often. So get a good reliable cleaning cloth handy.
The ball tech for their scroll wheel kills it for me. Know what I think Apple should of done? Made a scroll nub instead of a ball. Something similar to the little red dot mouse things on thinkpad notebooks. It'd be perfect, and much more sensitive then crappy ball tech and no cleaning would be needed. I'd definitely buy myself a Mighty Mouse if they did that. I'm not about to buy one now, 60 bucks for a mouse with a scroll ball that becomes unusable in a month or so? Pass.
are u realy to lazy to pick up your finger? Damn, that is extremely sad! When you click, its exactly like a regular mouse. This mouse does what other mouses do, and more. Tell me one thing this mouse cant do, that that other mouse you held up does do.
i dont know if someone already told u this btu it does have right click. go to the apple logo-system prefrences-keyboard and mouse-mouseright button-secondary.
I would rather spend more for something else. Sorry if I made some peeps mad since I was rather careless about my views on this vid, I'm pretty new at all this.
Its a nice little mouse, I still think the whole squeezing feature feels a litte clunky and does not always work on the first try, and the options of what u can can do with the squeeze is very limited, I have mine set to go to my dashboard, but dont even get me started on widgets... I like the mouse, but still I would have chosen something more ergonomic and with actual physical buttons instead. However, bluetooth mice tend to be on the expensive side so this still is a good buy, but yeah,
Alrighty everyone... I've been getting some flak since I made this vid, so I would like to add. I was a little too negative on this mouse. What I like now is of course the ball instead of the wheel is very very nice. The battery life is excellent, also It has been pairing very fast the past few weeks, when I first got it there was a long wait for pairing but that seems to have been fixed.
Hey just thought u would wana know, i decided to buy a wireless mighty mouse... i got it last saturday, so far i am very happy with it, pairing speed is fast, the scroll ball is my fav i just play with it all day haha, anyways thanku for the review
thanx for the review, i am not sure if i want the wired or wireless, because i am told it is USB connected and my macbook only has 2 USB ports as it is.. and hearing about the lag, put me into think mode, thanx again!
A note, it is now March of 08 and I am having the track ball problem that everyone has been warning me about :(

Does it get bad reception because it is wireless? Lag? I wonder if the wired one would be better.

It seems like a good majority of Mac users prefer third party mice to Apple's own. Their keyboards though... pure heaven :)

One of the better reviews. Kind of neat to hear someone that uses Mac and PC knowing what they're talking about.
