I hadn't thought of it in that way. It can be so easy to just 'settle' in a marriage, and over time the love can fade if the foundation has become weak.. but when Jesus Christ is the foundation and the Bible is obeyed in it, then there can be an amazing marriage.
My sister, really good video... Yet, you left out a very important word concerning marriage.. Namely, that the wives are to Submit themselves to their husbands.
No matter how great and godly the husband is, a wife who refuses to accept the authority structure in the marriage by refusing to Submit herself, will cause the marriage to Fail.
So, the issue of Wifely Submission must ALWAYS be brought to the table when discussing marriage, and not only what the husband should do.
@VAIO294 I used the passage that I did, not to leave anything out, because this was the passage that likened a marriage to being a reflection of Christ and the Church which was mentioned in the video itself. It was the passage that backed up what was being said. There is surely much more that could be said on marriage, but this one only touched on the very basic aspect of it, which is having Christ as it's foundation.
@Kamyel ~ Yes, I understand you're discussing marriage being a reflection of Christ and the Church,, but without the Church being SUBMITTED to Christ, there is NO marriage to Christ...The 2 always go Hand and Hand together... Same with a marriage...Without a Submitted wife, there is NO marriage.
MANY Christian wives have destroyed their own marriages by embracing Feminism where the husband is NOT to be submitted to nor acknowledged as the head... Paula White is an example of this.
@Kamyel ~ So, if a wife is not submitting herself to her husband, she is Not placing Christ at the center of her marriage, she is REJECTING Jesus Christ from her marriage... As the word of God says, she is to submit unto her Husband as "unto the Lord".
**Eph 5:22 ~ "Wives, submit to your own husbands, >>AS UNTO THE LORD."
Part 2..he loves himself more than anyone else. He does what makes him feel the best what fills him at the moment. So many people skip that scripture at weddings and they make fun of it,they don't wan't to be a slave to their husband. But they just don't understand it. The man is the head of the family and God is above him. The husband guides his wife but treats her just as he would treat himself and then of course children are raised by both parents and grow in faith as they grow. It works.
@Wivanunu When I read your comment this scripture came to mind: Psalm 127:1 King James Bible
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
Seek the Lord to see who's house this is, and what to do. We can't change another person to be the whom we want them to be, however, if this was a marriage made by the Lord He can heal or change things so long as you both are willing. May God bless you.
I had this scripture at my wedding 16 years ago, Ephesians 5: 25-33. I just was talking about it with a friend today. I'm struggling because I married a man who I believed had all the traits I was looking for. A Christian man who was very honest and respected me. After getting married it didn't take long for him to change. I just recently realized that it has to do with narcissim. Malignant Narcissism. He became someone else. I've tried so hard to fix this...through prayer. But...
@Wivanunu ~When you got married, were you also of the mind that you were to Submit yourself to your husband?..Was wifely submission included in what accepted as being your part?
@VAIO294 I just copied the verses in the video at 4:42.....I didn't realize it didn't include the beginning part.
I Included those in my wedding also. You asked, "When you got married, were you also of the mind that you were to Submit yourself to your husband?..Was wifely submission included in what accepted as being your part?" I understood these verses and that's why I wanted them to be a part of our wedding. When there is a breakdown it the top...it crumbles all the way down.

Without Wifely Submission, what was once a very good marriage can turn into nothing more then a ROOM-MATE relationship, or divorce.
**Eph 5:22 ~ "Wives, *submit to your own husbands*, as to the Lord."
**Eph 5:23 ~ "For the *husband is head of the wife*, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body."
