I agree for the most part, but there are a couple small advantages about taking center.
1) If someone has a tank pointed at your base and they are spawn whoring, you get killed over and over when you spawn. However, if you have center you have a 2nd option of where to spawn.
2) If your team has control over the majority of the map AND you have center you can pin them down in there own base.
For the most part I agree... skipping center is a good idea.
