Excellent. I purchased some of your music and tablature. Stumbling onto this video has reminded me why I need to start learning more of your work! Excellent!
Adam. Thanks do much for these videos. I just love your playing. And I totally agree with your philosophy on playing. Its all about the groove. You are a great inspiration.
Howdy Adam, Great groove on the E7+9. Very hip. Maybe you remember meeting me. I attended the NGW in Milton in 1997. Attended your "Beyond the Blues" class, I believe it was called. It was about thinking top down.
Anyway, you wrote out the chart for Angel Eyes for me so I could perform on the last day concert. Great to see your baby face again!
Adam Rafferty, you are a gifted teacher. I watch and know I will have a better pacing later on today in my lessons, just by taking the moment to observe your online classroom. :)
As you know, I am a piano teacher, but really, your gifts transcend your instrument.
thanks ALOT !!!!! im a bar chord guy but i always noticed u were using open strings when a bar chord wuld suffice now i understand :) i see the beauty behind what once thought was madness.... its like a musical epiphany! after a few hours im re-learning songs using what you just told me....
Adam, sweet groove. Wonderful point about making sure the goove/feel/body-rhythm is as important as the notes and/or formal "timing." It's all about the groove. Continue to be inspired by you and your playing... thank you.
Hello Adam your body moving to the music is a major reason your grooves are smokin' love your playing. This is a good lesson in many ways, but still working on the first 8 bars of Superstiton (verse), your DVD came abt 2 weeks ago.Your performances are awesomeand lessons are clear and it's going to keep me busy for awhile.Gotta go practice
Heysup Adam... 1st, thank you,,,, the info was more than useful to me, it was inspirational. I couldn't finger pick if my life depended on it, but the video made me realize how STIFF I really am.... Thank You, I plan to enjoy my guitars even more now
This a fantastic lesson and I have been trying to experiment with parts of the E7 Riff and have come up with a percussive alteration of the harmonic E note at the end of the riff. It involves using the middle finger of the fretting hand and just hitting the top string to sound the harmonic. It was a trick that I first was introduced to when I was trying to learn Ebon Coast though I don't believe Andy used it to sound harmonics in that song.
you are mi idol adam !! realmente te admiro tienes un talento unico !! por mas que alla muchos que quieran imitarte ers unico en guitarra acustica me llamo diego y soy de argentina!!
The idea of the open strings and using the harmonics, and even playing the Em7-9 up at the 12th fret, just opened up a whole new world of thinking for me. Thank you for that. -Rob
@GuiTuber Rob - cool. That's the idea. This stuff is secomnd nature for me, but I realized that it could open up creativity for others if I just verbalize what I am doing. Good luck!!!!
